Hey everyone! My name is Amanda. I live in Pittsburgh. I am planning on attending the July 29th Pittsburgh show. Sadly I still have not purchased tickets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully I will get some. I have been going to the idol shows at mellon arena ever since season 2. I have been lucky to meet Ace Young, Chris Daughtry and many of the idols last season by the fence prior to the show and after. It's good to hear of so many Cookie fans from the Burgh lol. I'm looking forward to maybe meeting many of you there.

I wanted to show you guys what the banner will look like--this is a 'proof' of it. I will be bringing it to the arena with me early in the day, and I'm bringing along Sharpies for everyone to sign it and write a message to David. I'm also going to include some Pittsburgh words (Stillers, arn city, etc) on the banner, and I got him a book on Pittsburghese, so he knows what the heck the words mean!! LOL I plan on giving all of this to him, then, and I think we are still going to give him a Pittsburgh gift basket. Anyhow, here's what the banner will look like:

i love the banner! I'm hoping to come down early......still have to bring it up to my mom about it....it's still early yet and i don't want to tell her now, and then her forget about it the day of the concert and I love the whole idea of everything.......the messages we can write, the Pittsburgh words, and a book with those words in it..I love it

i am SOOOOOOOOOO freaking excited right now...i found some decent igloo tickets for face value on ebay with the "buy it now" feature, so i hopped on that right away! so now i'm definitely going, woohooooo. i hope david's ready for some smiley cookies! ;-) i'll probably be getting to the arena around noon-1:00. can't wait!!!

going to the concert july 29th

11 DAYS...

Anyhow, I should be getting to the Arena about 10 am that morning, with the banner for David, so if you get there by noon or so, you should have a chance to sign it for him! The smiley cookies are a GREAT idea, and I am so glad you are able to come and join us!! I guess we are meeting around Gate 2, which is close to where the buses will be coming in...just look for the banner and a bunch of fans, and you will find us!!!

Can't wait--look forward to meeting everyone!!

anyone know if mellon arena's gonna let us have cameras???

I've never had a problem taking cameras in before...

any normal digital cameras are usually fine...I'd be wary if you have any SLR with an external lens, sometimes they consider them "professional" ...but even then, I've only been asked to put it away, they won't take it ...and even then lol...by mid-show they're usually sick of telling people to put cameras away and just give up

I'd say if your worried about it, hide it somewhere, like in the bottom of your purse covered with lots of stuff, like tampons LOL

LMAO!! I've never had problems with a cell phone camera or a regular digital camera...oh, God, guys, 6 days...wow.

...cover in tampons and make sure to go thru a security line with a 20-something year old guy ...not only do you get in no problem, but the facial expression will be priceless lol

i'm with the others, except the only time i had a problem with a camera was season 2, i was literally like in the last row of the floor and this guy tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to put my camera away. then i guess his supervisor told him we were allowed and he came back and apologized to me. haha

I've gone even further...72 hours!!! LOL!!! Ya know it's close when you count down in hours, not days...I just want these butterflies to leave my tummy!!

Hourly countdowns are the best! You all are going to have such a wonderful time! I can't wait to hear all about it! David is going to love the banner and all of the gifts!

Hi Laura!! I mailed him the scrapbook the beginning of June, in c/o 19 Entertainment...I hope to ask him tomorrow if he has received it yet. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, but I'm just trying to stay calm--unfortunately, it's not working!! LOL

i can't wait to meet all the fans and i can't wait to meet you especially Dyann and all the others. it's going to be a blast and i'm already feeling excited and i can't sleep. i'm not even tired and this could be bad.

but hopefully everything will go to plan. and i'll probably be contacting you Dyann at some course of the day through text or whatever. i won't be able to get there till around 12:30 or somewhere around there. and i wonder how many people will show up...

i've been looking at the pics from previous shows where ppl have met the idols and think that it would be a great idea if someone at each show gave david a large empty bag for him to place all the gifts and letters he's been getting. that way he can make his way down the line more comfortably and be able to use both hands to hold and autograph things.
