JiggaWhatJulie
We listen to B101 at work and they play TOML every day and the song from the GH commercial. They played them back to back once and I couldn't stop laughing!

I've started work on my t-shirt stencils for my shirt. smile.gif I'm so excited.

Last year the idols signed through the gates, so they'll probably do it again this year. But the gates are also pretty wide set, so it's not like you'll just be slipping your paper and pen through like they're in prison or something.

I got my ticket in the mail today!! Now I don't have to worry about it coming while I'm on vacation!

If David comes through on the jersey, I'd LOVE for it to be the Soul. Not only is it Bon Jovi's team, but WE WON THE ARENABOWL!! WOOO!! Can you tell I love the team? tongue.gif

I have been to many concerts in Philly and there is really no way for them to come out beyond the iron gates....I have not known the idols to do that....so they may end up signing through the iron fence. Security is very tight in Phila, so they may not take the risk of opening the gate and allowing them to come out...if they do, it will be a first.

When you are standing at the iron fence, look down and you will see the buses.....

God...that's depressing. I know that iron fence very well. But i was ...SO hoping for some kind of set up where the Idols could come out and get a bit closer to the fans. I mean, why couldn't they have a section with fences or barricades set up like they do at other arenas? The main reason i'm even going to that show was to give myself another chance at meeting David. *sigh*

thats pretty awesome, that you are in the same section as me
i think during the break or before the show we should meet up or something and try talking to secuirty or people at the venue and see if we can find away to meet the idols

cause i know people who have done that before and im gonna aslo talk to my cousin cause he is a secuirty and he works at the eagles stadium during footbal

we should definitely try to meet up biggrin.gif and talking to security might work... they can be strict, but they're really nice to. and it never hurts to ask tongue.gif

Don't be suprised if David comes out wearing one of the sports jerseys...I warned him about Philly, that when he pulls in to look around and he will see all the sports venues around the Wachovia.... I also begged him to do the backbend, so we shall see....

and i hope he wears a jersey. that's be so awesome laugh.gif

2 weeks?!?! it feels like it's a lot longer than that! i didn't even get tickets that long ago...haha, kinda last minute-ish decision. but it's me and my friend whos a David Archuleta fan...and were excited biggrin.gif
I'm most likely going up earlier to try and meet them near the buses...i agree with velvetsun and hope they have some sort of set up like the other venues instead of just the big iron fence..but o well, either works for me!
I'm missing a full day of band camp to go up early so hopefully something happens...cool.gif

yeah i know, cause i know other people that eased their way in to meeting people at concert down at the wachiova center, i ahve no clue how they do it, but they do.

Also he or someone else will def wear a sports jersey cause i remember Scott Savol came out wearing a Sixers jersey and Jessica Seria came out at the end when they were doing songs together and she was wearing a Flyers jersey. So Someone would probably wear a Soul's Jersey because we won or a Flyers jersey.

Hi everyone,

I was at the Atlantic City show (I saw VelvetSun there too!). As you probably know, he didn't come out before or after so it was VERY depressing. I'm still so sad. I wasn't planning on going to Philly but you know how it is, David is an addiction and I can't control myself. So I am packing up my girls on Wed and we are off to the Wachovia to try to meet him again. Unfortunately I can't afford tickets to this one. sad.gif It will be hard to not go to the concert. But I want to meet him so bad, and he will be 30 minutes away from me...if I heard stories of people going and meeting him there, I would so regret not trying, so here we go again.

I was SO depressed to hear about the iron fence! NOT FAIR!!!!! I really want a hug! Ok, I would settle for anything at this point...but a hug is my dream, and plus taking pics through a gate really sucks!!! How tall is the gate, and what do you mean they are wide set?

The black iron fence is about 8 feet high. There is no one getting over it. The idols rarely come out of this fenced area. You will see on the opposite side of the venue, is where they will come out to greet fans because there is a grassy hill. On the other side near the venues, are where the buses are, but they are practically underground. Philadelphia has tight security, so you may not get to meet him. And many know the reason why he hasn't been coming out after shows.....He really should make an effort to come out after shows...I have read about many disappointed and angry fans over this.....

Hey All
My FIL is one of the heads of security at the Wachovia center. The Idol meet and greet for fans is between 4-5 inside the complex(which is really early, 2 hours before the show). I know it is hard with the fences surrounding the venue so I will find out if/what time they are due to arrive at the center and if it is all possible to get close enough to them. 6 DAYS TO GO!!!! I will post on Monday!

Yay! I will definitely look for you on Wednesday! I know how you feel about being disappointed over Saturday and needing one more chance. That's the only reason i'm going to Philly. I also wanted a hug, but at this point, i would settle for a picture . Frankly, i find the negativity of some of the people who've gone to Idol shows there in the past, to be depressing...but i'm not giving up hope. smile.gif

OK... first of all...i HATE the idea of the iron fence. But, i refuse to give up on at least David coming out to talk to the fans before the show. And frankly, i think the negative attitude isn't helping. It seems like once someone posts something postive about meeting them in Philly, someone else comes along and points out all the obsticles.

As far as the supposed reason that David hasn't been coming out after the shows...well, i think it's easy to forget how many obligations he has. If i remember correctly, Jordan hardly ever came out last season. David has been MORE then generous with his fans. His dedication to them, has been obvious since the tour started. Any other 'reasons' that people come up with...unless they come directlty from David, i will have a hard time believing

I was one of the people at the AC show...yes, i was incredibly depressed that we didn't get our chance to see him. But I, in no way, blame David for that.

JMO, and all that good stuff, but some fans need to get over themselves. This man is being pulled in a gazillion different directions and has been more than accomodating, as far as I can see. I was so happy to see those pictures from Shea Stadium (even though I hate the Mets, lol). It was nice to see a relaxed, happy Cookie, doing something that he enjoys.

The meet and greet that is from 4-5 is not the same as the idols coming out to greet fans earlier in the day. The Pop Tarts meet and greet is inside, in a room where they all sit at a table and just sign. You don't need passes to possibly meet them outside.

[b]I think some of the fans here are asking about meeting David after the show. There is no getting the Idols around the iron gate. If you have a meet and greet pass, then yes, you go inside close to 3 or 4 and you will meet them at a table. The after party is also by passes.

The iron gate is heavy, tall and the bars are somewhat wide enough for David to squeeze his face in there for a pic...

Good Luck to those who get passess.

With all due respect, just because someone comes on the board and claims to not only know the real reason David hasn't been coming out to talk to fans after the concerts...but to also be in regular touch with him via email...well, excuse me for being slightly leary of believing it. Nothing against you, just stating a fact. Anyone can claim anything they want to on here..it doesn't automatically make it the truth.

My only point earlier was that being constantly negative when some of us are trying to stay positive about our chances of meeting him, is more then a little counter-productive. I just don't want to see everyone losing hope!

I wish everyone luck on Wednesday. smile.gif

It should go left to right. Section 1, seat 1 through whatever, then 2, then 3. All sections starting with 1.

My question is if row 4 is really row 4, or if they have to take some rows away due to the staging (and not just the part that juts out in the center). Because if they have to take rows away, that would be AWESOME!!

But is that numbering if you are facing the stage, or on the stage? <G>

They took out parts of the first 4 rows on the SIDE sections (1 and 3) in AC, but there were still seats in those rows. I think maybe 2 seats in row 1, 3 in row 2, etc. Row 5 was the first full row. The center section lost about 10 rows at that venue, but it may not be the same for the others.

I hope the numbering is left to right, looking at the stage as I have seat 12. LOL

Ok so I live 15 minutes from Philly so I decided to go over there today to see how it's all set up. Yes, the entire arena (actually, the 2 arenas are gated together) is surrounded by a tall black iron fence. BUT, there were plenty of areas that were open that you could walk in through. Including the main gate for the arena that doesn't seem to have a fence that goes across it. So don't lose hope. wink.gif There is a possibility that we will be able to wait inside the arena parking lot to see them. There is a Neil Diamond concert tonight so this is an event day, and there were a few open gates and there were people milling about the parking lot.

Silly question...does it really start at 8pm in Philly? Every other show is listed as starting at 7. Why does Philly have to be different? blink.gif

Yes, i've been to a lot of concerts there, and remember the open areas, too. Of course i've never gone there early to try and meet anyone, but as i've been saying all along, i don't understand why they can't just have a small section put aside with barricades for the fans to wait at. Like every other venue has. But...i refuse to give up hope. And even if we do have to deal with the fence...people have still met and taken pics with the Idols there before, so it's not impossible.

Question...what time is everyone planning on getting there? I was shooting for between 10-11am.

Oh, and there was some question about the show's start time in AC as well. Some said 7, some said 8. But, i believe it's supposed to be 7, since AC started around 7:30 and Rickey was panicking when i didn't call in for my cellcast when he thought i would, because the show was running late. tongue.gif

so, i went along to drop my sister off at philidelphia airport at 4 am today and saw the wachovia center clearly which made me very excited! i'm glad to hear a bright side to the iron gate, that was concerning me a little.

well i think that's what she said. so i have some work to do.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of specific info about the Philly show as of right now. I'm hearing *all* kinds of stories from people who have gone to various shows there in the past. Some say we need to wait by the fence....then yesterday someone else told me that when she went to a show there 6 months ago they had a section of the parking lot closed off for the fans to wait at. As far as what time they will arrive....who the heck knows. *sigh* it would be nice if we could nail down something for this flippin' show LOL

I'm going alone and I hate to think that I won't find where everyone is waiting. LOL

My plan at this point is to try to just go in the main gate on foot when I get there. Maybe security will tell us where to go? I could see where the trucks had pulled in for Neil Diamond and I'm guessing that's where the buses will pull in.

Hey
So I talked to my Father in Law and he said that the buses will pull right into the venue, they have to go down a ramp which takes them into the center(security). That will be the closest way to see/get to them if they were to come out. He said he dosen't know if they will come out or not, it usually depends on the artist. And from what it seems, they will probably be out. I can find more out the day of once he finds out b/c he works on Wednesday.

I know they won't let anyone inside the gate. It is a security gate that has someone buzzing cars in and out. It's whether or not they come out or sign through the gate. I know if you get there early and talk to "Idol people" you could probably score some passes for the meet and greet/after party.
