Alright, so we've all noticed how the "ArchAngels" have been saying that we ripped off their sign and a bunch of other bull, right?
WELL.

Alright, I started my fic called "Captive" on March 27th, 2008.
There's a fic on there that has a pretty eerily similar plot, and the person who wrote it states "i started this one before that," in reference to my story.
Um, sorry. That's bull. That story was started April 4th. Last edition: April 20th.
What comes BEFORE April? March. That's right. As in, my story was first.
And even if you go back to the first few pages of my story called "It's Still There..." you can find me and Katt and Team D.C! discussing plans to kidnap DC and how "I should start a story about that."

I'm not mad at the fact that it's a similar plotline at all, it's actually... I don't know, flattering?
But to sit there and try to claim that it was originally their idea is ridiculous.

And yet they call us rip-offs all day. Hmm.

woah..that's definitely insulting, I think....I mean, I know you don't wanna ruffle feathers with any of the ArchAngels or anything, but those who claim your story as their own can go fall down a well...

I say their loss...sooner or later they'll get caught and all they'll be known for is stealing other people's stories and being hypocrites....

As long as WE know you wrote it first, you shouldn't go and plot another scheme to take retaliation on those story-stealers....

I was JUST going to say the same thing. I had it happen to me a long time ago with a graphic that DH made for a website that a friend and I put together. He spent a HELL of a lot of time on doing something creative for our portal, and then this person who claimed to be a pal took it and gave ZERO credit for the source. It PISSED ME OFF TO NO END then and it still irritates me when I think about it now.

Wow. Im really sorry that someone from archuletafans would do that. I belong there and I came here because I think Cook is good and also to help try and ease up the tension between the two groups. Just to tell you tho, we aren't all like that. I for one would never take credit for other people's work. I'm really sorry again.

guys i just read that on the archuleta site. that girl over there is realy nice. She meant no harm im sure. She is my age and she honestly didnt mean to steal anything about your work. she has been thinking about writing a fanfic like that for some time. I just realized who it was when i saw your link.

Again, I don't really mind about the idea of kidnapping being ripped off. I know I'm not the first person in the entire world to ever think about kidnapping their favorite celebrity.
It's the fact that credit was taken for coming up with it first that makes me mad the more I think about it, and the blatant rudeness of calling mine straight-up "creepy" without at least countering it with something positive.
The MATURE thing to do would have been to say "It's creepy but still interesting," or something like that. It's just writer's ettiquite. Or maybe it's just me. I don't say anything negative about anybody's original work unless I have something positive to say as well. If I don't, I don't say anything. Simple as that.
Even if they hated my story, a simple "I didn't like it" would suffice. Not "it's creepy."

Now remember that imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery so if someone had the (insert random curse words HERE) audacity to steal your storyline then I guess it just means that they really liked it. It also means that they do not have a creative writing bone in their body, so they had to come to this site to troll around until they found a story worthy of "borrowing" and unfortunately, your story was the one that captivated them the most and that is why they ripped it off.. (captivated.. get it? ) So, since we all know the truth and that YOU started the story here.. then hey... no worries, right?

And seriously.. . if that eerily similar story is about little david it simply cannot compare to your story about Our David.. I mean it could be ripped off word for word (hypothetically speaking of course) but who really wants to read about little david... he's a little boy.. and thinking of him -IN THAT WAY- just grosses me out..
But since Our David is a grown ass, sexy ass MAN, I can (and pretty much do) think about him IN THAT WAY.. all day, everyday.. there is just no escaping David Cook (not that I want to)

So, I guess the moral of this story is that the little david fans know that we have the better fans, the better fan site and of course... the most talented fan fic writers too... so of course they are going to want to come over here... trolling around for stories that they can "borrow" and then bring back to their site..

I think that they are finally realizing that little david CANNOT AND WILL NOT beat OUR DAVID in the competition, so they are trying to tear OUR DAVID's fans down by copying the brilliant, original stories that are written here and then passing it off as their own.. But, it won't work...

OUR DAVID is an original and no matter how many times they write about little david, we will always know that the real story began with OUR DAVID...

Let me just end by making this quick comparison: David Cook is a T-Bone steak, while little david is more like a white castle hamburger.. sure there are reasons to eat both of them and they both taste good, but at the end of day, which one would you say has really satisfied you the most?

OMG.. I love Edward Cullen too! Are you going too see Twilight when it comes out on December 12th.. I am so there- we have about 7 people who are going with, so far.. it's going to be so good to see the story on the big screen... I can't wait!!!!


My friends and I used to have a book club going and we had to read Twilight one month and after that first chapter ,I was hooked on Edward.... and then I read through New Moon and Eclipse so fast that I thought the pages were going to fly right out of the book.. Ah, Edward had me from day one...

In an odd way, Edward and David are quite similar.. they are both so sexy, a bit edgy, and so private and mysterious... and they both have been hurt by past loves... and thank goodness that David is not a vampire and that we get to enjoy him in the real world..

I think David should record a song for the soundtrack to Twilight.. and sing it like he WAS Edward singing the song to Bella... That would be SO super hot! And I am sure it would be a #1 hit for David...

Seriously, I LOVE all three of the books...they're immaculate....Stephenie Meyer is my hero, practically...

and they ARE similar....I mean, in the beginning of Twilight, Edward is incredibly shy, and I assume that David is shy as well....or course, not for the same reasons, but you get the point... but yeah, it doesn't surprise me of their similarities....

#1 - Trying to take credit for coming up with the idea for a story that you obviously started writing first = immature beyond words.

#2 The whole 'stealing the sign' thing is ridiculous, Cook has been doing it since Billie Jean. And since when is a simple gesture to acknowledge a persons fans only allowed to be done by one person?

#3 I also want both groups to get along. But sometimes it's a wee bit difficult when many of Archie's fans aren't making an effort as well..

well im trying to get some of them to cooperate. but just remember..alot of the are young, like i have met a 10 YEAR OLD there...so ya know, that age is hard to deal with. I'm 17 and most of them are around my age...not many much older than me tho.

I post at this fan fic site for One Tree Hill and this happened there awhile back. This girl had written this great story and come to find out someone at another forum took her story. A lot of people noticed it and spoke up and yet the girl is still posting the stolen story.

Yeahh... That whole sign thing is getting outta proportion... I mean, who even cares?!

I started a David Cook Lovers thread, and got basked a whole lot. But it's up to 10 pages now, (which is a lot for an Archie site. =P) and getting new fans coming and posting everyday. So that makes me happy. Oh, and RIGHT after i started my David Cook Lovers thread, some jerk goes and starts a David Cook Haters thread... I was like... ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!? But then Travis got mad. =] And closed down the thread, and banned the person. HALLELUJAH!!!

Alright guys, so, I hate to say it, but I did maybe sort of overreact.
I should have asked the author before jumping to conclusions, as she hadn't read my story. Someone else made the comment about my story and I guess with all the hubbub about "Cook stealing Archuleta's sign" (THAT is B.S.) I got a little antsy and kind of immature.

I've since talked to the author of that story, and we're good. There is no such thing as a completely original thought in ths world, and as much as I hate to admit it I can't claim that I'm the only person in the entire world who's probably ever written a fic about being kidnapped.

She's not beastly or evil, guys. I apologize for stirring up shit when I should have taken "a minute just to breathe" as our amazing Cookiemonster says and asked her directly. If you go back to that thread you can see that the post has been removed and edited, even though she's more than welcome to repost it. I just didn't want credit for the initial story being taken.

I want Word Nerds and Archies to get along. I mean, I'm not like, a hippie about it or anything, but I don't think either of the Davids would appreciate their fans going at it over something as trivial as some of the issues that are on hand.

Thanks for your support though. It means a lot to me that most of you were automatically on my side.
