Me too. I didn't really care much about the show until he won. I mean the only other season I wanted to see live was season 2, and then they didn't even come to Phoenix. I was so mad. So I just might have to go this year, if I can find decent seats.
DCDarling07
I'm not going to this one, I'm going on August 10 in Manchester, but July 1st is my birthday!
I so wish that they were going to be near me on this day!
All you lucky Word Nerds going on this day...have fun!! biggrin.gif

I nabbed center row 7 for Glendale and this will be my first AI concert experience and I couldn't imagine a better headlining artist than DC. I'm a couple hours away up in Sedona so I'm going to book a night or two in some spa on June 31 - July 2 and really treat myself to a mind, body, and soul experience getaway. Counting the daze...

I have been trying to get tickets for the July 1st date. Anyone know when they are releasing the rest of the tickets? Also is anyone going to go wait for the buses outside? My friends & I will be coming in from Tucson smile.gif

Thinking of adding another stop to what I'm calling my American Idol summer tour. lol. I can 'swing by' Glendale on my business trip in time for the concert.

Question: Anyone familiar with the area know how far the Comfort Suites is from the arena? Or what is the closest hotel (maybe within walking distance to arena)? Really don't want to rent a car, but would be willing to do a car service. Any help would be much appreciated.
Kylee
hey! i live in scottsdale, az and was at the season 6 concert last year. it was excellent! i just won tickets on 104.7 for the glendale concert. i was wondering if anyone knows about the meet and greet at jobing.com.?. i really want to meet David biggrin.gif

LOL! I made A board for Glendale yesterday and nobody came to it!
):
I'm DEFINITELY going! (:
And the arena is right by my house!
My seats aren't great, but they're pretty close to the stage.
I'm going very early in hopes of meeting some of them.
(:

Go to ticketmaster.com and get them there.
That's where I got mine.
I plan to wait for the buses!

All of you that are attending in Glendale have to give us the details the next day. I am anxious to hear what all foes on, so I can anticipate when they come to Chicago.
BLake
I'm excited to see how the show progresses, how it comes together or falls apart in any way -- from Opening Night to Closing Night.

Opening Night could be great, fresh off so many rehearsals, or it could show the signs of needing some time to gel. And I can't wait to see if they give DC any flexibility in his home markets (more time, additional show, alternate songs).

I'm going for the tickets on Movin' 97.5. I actually joined their VIP thing online just to enter the contest to get tickets... is that sad, I think it is. If I get tickets {*points to self* Broke college student who cant afford a spare hundred dollars}, I would love to meet up with all of you!

And anyone going, I expect a play-by-play, so be ready to take some notes!
BLake
I'm flying in just for this show . . . . and I'm taking my personal laptop with me just so that I can hit the hotel right after the show and 'download' it for you guys.

(Ugh. The thought of a trip carrying two laptops hurts my back already, but it'll be worth it! We *have* to have deets of Opening Night for the D-C-.org-ers.)
Lirix
I'll assume you mean upload wink.gif

I'm contemplating going one hundred dollars more into debt. Normally I could think of plenty of reasons to convince myself not to go to something {I've done so for several of my favorite shows, and was even able to convince myself not to go to NYC}, but I just can't talk myself out of it. The only thing holding me back from dropping the cash is looking at my school bills, car bills, gas prices, parking for next year at ASU, oh, and that price tag of the bed I just purchased...

Basically what I'm saying is I'm probably going to end up going to the show whether from a fated stroke of luck that has always eluded my grasp or my own stupidity when it comes to financing things...

No, I actually meant download (from my memory and my senses) smile.gif so that all of the D-C.org-ers might be able to hear/feel/experience what it was like . . . .

July 1st...Opening night in Glendale, AZ

Driving up from Tucson...I love American Idol, but I have never gone before, but I need to see DC live...

Waiting for his album is pure torture...

My seats suck, but I will bring binoculars...Just to hear his voice live will be worth it...[/color]
Lirix
Got it. I thought you meant pictures and videos. I look forward to reading the concert report then!
Cassie25
If anybody needs a ticket let me know, because I have an extra, now that I found better seats. It's in the upper level but right next to the stage.
DC_IM_SPELLBOUND
Hey there fellow Glendale concert goers I was wondering if those of you who have tix in the front floor BBB section knew this. I just found out that the way the stage is set up at the jobing.com arena for this show, the center front row is actually Row 8. Am I the only one who was clued to this fact? blink.gif
lindzluffsacookie
Lol. I don't know. My seats are upper lever close to the stage.
But as a regular concert goer, I've been tot he arena many times. My ex used to work there (and if he still did I would have backstage passes. Damn him.)
But the floor seats, although they are pretty good, aren't so great unless you are in the first ten or so rows.
The floor is flat and the further back you are, the harder it will be to see, especially if you're short (like me).
If you're on the floor and in the back, upper level seating would be better.
I saw Jack's Mannequin there 2 years ago, and from the back lower level I could see pretty well, but when I was on the floor I couldn't see anything. My ex (who is taller than I am) could barely see himself.

Oh darn that you couldn't still get backstage passes sad.gif As for my floor seats when I bought them I was told they were row 7's. There was some confusion, apparently, and what I actually have are row 4's which when I go to find the seats the row will actually read 11. blink.gif The seller wasn't aware of the setup and so I received substitutes at same cost so I'm actually closer than I thought I'd be. Which of course is good news, but I was seriously wondering who else might be out there that was aware of this rather odd seating arrangement.
lindzluffsacookie
Yeah the seating is soooooo strange!
MichelleAngl7
For those who have been to the jobing.com arena before I was wondering if you could tell me if section 103 row w are good seats? they are on the lower level

i was just curious if my seats are good or not...thanks! smile.gif

Those should be pretty good seats. I had sec. 103 row T for Bon Jovi a couple of years ago, and the only problem I had was the tall lady in front of me. So as long as you're not short, or don't have some extremely tall person in front of you, you should be okay.

Ok good, thank you so much for letting me know! I am not soo worried about them anymore! Three weeks from tomorrow!! I am so excited!! smile.gif

lindzluffsacookie
haha I'm in J on the upper leve. Never been up there before. I can't remember it that well.
Does anyone know what hotel the Idols are staying at or if they are at all? I know there's a million hotels in that area and my neighbor owns one. So if they're staying in HER hotel I think I have a chance of meeting them.
