Archuleta's dad enters plea in prostitution case

MIDVALE, Utah - The father of last year's "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta (ar-choo-LET'-ah) has pleaded no contest to patronizing a prostitute in a Salt Lake City suburb.

If the 47-year-old James Jeffrey Archuleta avoids repeating the crime by the end of this month, the charge will be removed from his record.
Midvale police Sgt. John Salazar says Archuleta was cited Jan. 14 at a massage parlor. Officers were investigating a complaint from a neighboring doctor's office about scantily clad women at the business.
Court records show Archuleta, who goes by Jeff, pleaded no contest on Jan. 30. He also paid a $582 fine and completed a counseling class.
His attorney, Erik Bauer, did not immediately return a call for comment on Thursday.

OK, THIS makes more sense! My husband yesterday was trying to tell me that ARCHIE was the one found in the brothel. I hadn't heard anything about this, but even so was telling my husband I SERIOUSLY doubted that Archie was involved in something like that!!

Well it wans't a brothel, rather it was a massage parlour that hired hoes(or something like that). Apparnetly the parlour operated without a business license. The woman who attended to Jeff was arrested, too.
But it's strange that the media reported it only last week, when Jeff had already made the plea way back in January. The way they reported it, they made people(myself included) assume that it happened only a few days before. I always thought they would be up-to-date when it comes to publishing stuff.
And yes, i can't see Archie having romps with prostitutes either. He's too level-headed for that. (and BTW i dunno EXACTLY what Jeff ACTUALLY did with that woman)
poor archie. i feel so bad for him that he has to deal with something like this.
