Right now, Im a junior in college majoring in Elementary Ed. When I graduate, I want to leave Maine and go see the world. I need to go and see if I can do it on my own. I want to find a small town or city to work/live in. Ive been told Vermont/ North Carolina. Oklahoma and Mossorui[sp] have really honored schools... Does anyone know of any nice places to live? Or have any advice on where I should start?

My brother lives in N.C. and absolutely loves it. I also know they're hard up for teachers there.

Though the weather is drastically different down here, Texas is always in need of good teachers. If you keep to the northern part of the state, you can usually avoid the massive summer heat and actually see snow (something I've physically never seen).

I absolutely LOVE MAINE!!! but i can see why you would want to leave....lots of trees.
I'd recomend colorado, ohio, or new hampahire which I know is a hop n a skip away but i absolutely love salem....if u ever go there, you have to go indoor skydiving!! that was super fun. after you can go to canoby(however you spell it) lake and ride the rollercoasters lol!!!

Aww, you've never seen snow? That makes me really sad for some reason.
I'm from the northwest part of the state, near the NM border, and we get snow here usually at least once a year. It's usually not much, of course, but we get some. But our weather here is crazy, for real. For example, it's been in the mid-90s all week, and today it was randomly like 58. Crazy. We have a phrase here that if you don't like the weather, wait 30 minutes.
But erratic weather aside, I personally think Texas is the greatest place in the world, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. Haha. I love Texas.
Plus, we have the most beautiful sunsets ever:

That was taken from my front yard last fall. I'm kind of obsessed with taking pictures of the sunset, haha, but they're so beautiful here!
Anyway, I'll stop pimping Texas now. Haha.
Yee-haw.

Well personally........I live in VA and loved it. We have a little bit of everything
You have mountains (the western part) The beach to the East, Big cities ( Richmond, D.C., VA beach, Winchester) and then ya got your small towns basically throughout the whole state.
Also you get all types of weather...snow in the winter but nothing drastic, warm springs and summers but not TOO hot, and then in the fall...well the leaves around here are AMAZING.

Nah. I'm not crying over it. That's way too cold for me. I prefer the warmth - I've been born and raised in it, so I haven't found it much of a loss. I do like the nice cool weather preceding and succeeding a beautiful rain shower, though. That kind of cool is fine by me. I love rain, and we get it a lot more often here than we did back down in the boonies.

I'm quite partial to Missouri.

Illinois is nice too, after you cross the MO/IL border. There are some really great areas there. You may also want to consider Indiana if you're going for the "small town" feel. I've spent quite a bit of time there and haven't been disappointed.
