ok, so everyone knows in the finale the top 2 idols get a song choice from the judges, a song choice from america, and then 1 song they want to do themselves....so what song would you have our DC do?????

i think he'd do incredible if he sang three days grace...
but then again, some people may not even know them, or the performance could be considered too predictable..

I guess it would be a longshot as they aren't a well known band..but i would love to hear David sing anything by Big Wreck. They're one of his favorite bands (and mine), and David and the lead singer Ian have such similar styles & tone to their voice, he would do an awesome job on anything by them. Most especially Ladylike. Or...maybe something by Ian's new band, Thornley...Come Again would be killer.

Again, long shots considering the judges always lay into people for doing songs by lesser known artists.

But seriously, I've posted this before and I'll post it again, I would melt...simply melt...if he sang any Incubus song. But more specifically "Dig". I absolutely love that song and I think David and Brandon has similar voices. "Dig" just has great lyrics.

Also, twho of my all-time favorite songs are "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden and "Wait" by White Lion. I would LOVE to see his renditions of them! I just don't know how they would fit for him.

I'd just want him to pull a Bo Bice (who was the original rocker on the show, anyway) and sing something a capella. Since Bo, he's the only Idol who has the type of voice that I think could pull that off. And just like Bo, he would wow the judges and America and (unlike Bo ) win the whole thing.

i think this week is a pretty good indicator that we do not want to see david cover a straight rock tune. he has shown pretty amazing skill at crossing pop tunes and making them rock gems, but doing straight covers is not david's strength. or at least he hasn't shown it yet.

That would be FANTASTIC! I still remember how BLOWN AWAY my entire family was when Bo sang a capella. It's still one of the best Idol moments in history, IMO.

Actually, it's funny you mentioned this, because when David sang MOTN my dad called me and said that for him DC had a "turning moment" much in the same way Bo did on the a capella night.

I don't really get why there wasn't acoustic theme at all, because they had the most talented bunch this year. I would love to see David doing something acoustic and something what really shows his wide vocal range.

I don't think David should do a song by Daughtry- the comparisons would really be just too much and I think everyone would agree with that.. and I love them both dearly.. but David Cook is David Cook and Chris Daughtry is Chris Daughtry - you know what I mean??

But, it would be cool as hell if Chris was in the audience- and Ryan spoke to him- and he just happened to mention how awesome David is... yeah, that would be freakin' sweet!!!!


So, what do I wish David would sing.. hmmmm.... here a few of my choices...

1. 3 Days Grace- "Never Too Late" - AWESOME SONG!

2. Hoobastank- "The Reason" - I just have this stuck in my head and it has the best lyrics.

3. Creed- "Higher"- he could start with the second verse.. that would be a good choice.

4. Radiohead- "Creep"- I agree that the Axium cover of this was AWESOME.. the only problem is that- he's performed it before, so would he even want to do it again? and would someone at Idol make an issue of "Well, he's already done that.." So, maybe not.... but I still love this song..

5. The Goo Goo Dolls- "Iris" - love this song!

Wow, there are so many more, but these are like my top choices, but whatever he does.. I am thinking the lyrics are going to be very important and special to him.. so I am looking forward to whatever he does!!

I do like the Three Days Grace, but I would want him to sing Pain (probably wouldn't be very good for the young ones but that would be amazing!)
