I finally caught the entire show. Since I didn't wanna get upset or ruin my TV set by throwing something at it, I muted the sound when it was time for judges' comments. okay here goes... don't know if i'd get hated for this or if someone actually feels the same way...

DC seemed a little out of it... like he was having an out of body experience. His eyes weren't... doing it for me? Or something like that. I think his Top 3 performances were better than his performance tonight. *waits for the boos to stop* Don't get me wrong, his worst day is better than MOST people's best days. Just seemed a little off tonight...

Archie on the other hand, did better than last week, which isn't really much to say since last week, he was almost like a disaster. Tonight, his voice was smooth but it seemed forced, somehow, almost nasally at times. I couldn't stand it. I know he does the ballads well and I don't criticize him for sticking to what he does best but... once again it bored me to tears. I had to change channels.

So my overall assessment is.. it was kind of a tie. No one knocked out anyone. It will boil down to who we voted for, who we believed in more.

And all my votes went to Cook. Because i strongly believe that for someone like him, with his talent, his heart, his musicality, for someone like that to actually lose? Well, it just makes me think that American Idol, as a show that prides itself in finding future music superstars, has failed not only in their mission to do what they said they would, but they have also failed each person who dreamed of one day being able to sing in front of thousands of people.

If David Cook loses this tomorrow, you will hear a million dreams shattered. Including mine. And maybe yours.

i was not entirely too thrilled about DC's performances either. so some of the heated "hate" criticisms from the judges sat alright with me.

i really think he's just there to "have fun", just as he says.

yeah. and i don't mean that he "threw the game". it must've been very hard for him to focus what with his family stuff and the pressure of doing well and blowing everyone away. I have to say am a teeny bit disappointed because i was one of the people who expected to be blown away. But he held it back last night, i didn't see it in his eyes or even the smirks he used to have letting me know he's "got it together".

still. i want him to win. not because i think he deserves it more (because who's to say who's deserving or not?) but simply because he's the best this show has ever found and to NOT acknowledge that is a shame that will ultimately lead to the show's failure.

It wasn't his best night, definitely. But the good thing about this AI process is we don't vote for them and rely entirely on their last performances but we vote for them because we believe they did amazing for the ENTIRE process. It's not just a one time, thing. Cook may have gotten a little out of zone tonight but that does not mean he doesn't deserve the crown any longer. He has been around long enough--doing his thing--- for us to know that he deserves to beat this thing and one night cannot be a sole basis for winning.

Archuleta did great tonight. We can't take that away from him. Kudos to the kid. We all know that Cook is readier than this---creativity-wise, experience-wise, or maybe even age-wise? Even if we put our biases aside, that is still one very obvious thing you couldn't just ignore.

I believe there's no point in comparing who did better or who knocked out who. Even both the David's should agree on this knowing they both patronize each other's talents. The playing field, let's say, is leveled when it comes to their performances. It's now a battle of the fanbases, battle of people who admire the both of them, and like what you said---battle of who believed more.

I would like to believe we did. I hope we did.

I'd be devastated if Cook doesn't win. I surely would be. I may lock myself up for a day or two then I won't know after that. *sighs*

no plan B for me honey. it's... DC wins American Idol and then... nothing. because THERE IS NO PLAN B.

i just got home... and I'm paranoid as hell because the village security guard told me that there was a prowler lurking and walking on the bakod of the house right behind us... and just last week I was followed home by a maniac... could they be one and the same? I know I have to sleep because later I have to get up at 8 to see the freakin' finale... grrrr...

As for the performances, when Simon said that Archie went out to win it, I remembered what Cookie said earlier in the show. The competition is over and they're just having fun. It's not that he's not taking the finale seriously or he's being his "arrogant, pompous self" (adjectives care of Simon Cowell) He said that because he feels he has proven his worth in the competition and the 2 best people were standing there on that stage. It was really up to the voting public to decide not just based on that night, but on the collective efforts of both contestants throughout the show. And I felt that he did his best. Finale night is usually about glitz and glamour, but Cook is above that. He is TALENT PERSONIFIED. Not that Archie is not talented, he IS. It's just that he is still raw and maybe he felt like he needed to prove himself more to be able to win this competition. He unknowingly confirmed that by singing a song he got the best reviews for. In my honest opinion it was a move to remind the people WHY he is in the final 2. If David Archuleta waited a couple of more years, waited til he was more mature and can sing with more emotions, add that to his technical singing abilities then he might have wowed me.

Hay naku... poor man's bailey's makes me highly analytical... i think I should drink more often... hahaha... di pa ko lasheng... 2 cups lang nainom ko kanina... the early-shifters took the party elsewhere... buti pa sila 10 or 11pm tapos na ang trabaho... *sigh*
