Hi guys! It's my first time here and I became a fan of David Cook only during his concert last night. Though I like his voice during his AI era, I got so amazed by the talent he has shown to the audience last night, and I'm starting to like DC now.. Though it's very sad that they left for the AI finale today, I'm still hoping that he will come back and travel "halfway 'round the world" and perform wildly again on the Philippine stage.. And I really regret why I only got curious about DC just right before the concert... Tsktsk..
The David Cook Experience. 05.16.09
After what happened at SM North Edsa, Man! it was just the beginning of this whole adventure, I gotta tell you more.
Before saturday came, I was troubled of how we were able to give the 'Let Adam be Our Strength' Baller to David Cook, his family and his bandmates. I texted the whole clan about it, suggestions or anything. Then Ate Gisselle replied. oh okay, thanks. She's going to help me. I rested and actually slept as early at 8pm but quite awaken at 11pm with Jaydon's message, ''Nagmalling si David Cook sa SM Megamall''. And I was like 'whoa?' I waited for his reply but he didn't and so I slept again.
I woke up at 4 in the morning and I was sort of feeling numb. I didn't even know why. Thus, I didn't want to do anything this day but then I texted again ate gisselle for any update. My gosh! I need to rush up things so that I could give the baller to David Cook. I headed to Manila to get the baller and paid for it. But before that, I had this test of patience. Haha. Yeah.. The bus that I got on was so slow, and I was like chasing the time but then I prayed hard for it. Next, I was kinda short in money to pay for the baller, there's no one I could run to but Ate Shinah and Ate Amor who haven't given me the payment for the orders. I was really freaking out that I might not get the baller. But God is Great! He made a way, Ate Shinah paid for it through Western Union. I planned to get it at any western union branch at Manila. TIME was the only thing I could think of that moment. Inside SM Manila, there's a WU, so I went there,I presented my ID and the lady was like, 'please photocopy it first then come back'.. Man! I have been receiving money using that School ID for many times and I haven't heard of that kind of policy... That really pissed me off but I didn't let that over ruled my heart, I sought for other branches then I found one, but gosh, the card number was wrong and Ate Shinah wasn't answering... all that I could do was to pray. Few minutes have passed. Thanked God... I got the money. Then I rushed in and get the baller. Seeing the outcome really eased all the things I have felt before I got in the situation. Man! It felt so good.
I already mentioned that TIME was the only thing I could think of and when it's like that, I wasn't aware of the money I've spent in food and transporation. That was like, 'what?, this is all I have left?' gosh! That was eccentric.
I got to MOA to meet-up with Ate Gisselle, at Italliani's we met with her mom. She told me David Cook and his band had a soundcheck early in the morning and they even shopped at MOA. Gosh! what? I missed it. Ate Gisselle even showed me their pic with Neal, Andy, Kyle, and Joey.. which was really cute.
FORWARD A LITTLE BIT.
BTW, Ate Gisselle, thank you for the accomodation and everything you did for me and for the help.
Anyways, I told ate gisselle that I would see if the cook-kulets are already there at the meeting place. And there they were. I didn't got tha chance to hang around with them before the concert because Ate gisselle already called and told me that we could go to Edsa Shangri-la and give the ballers. Man! haha sorry cook-kulets coz they were like begging just to come but we can't accomodate much and so the cook-kulets gave me their DCTR and so if I could get David Cook to sign in. Then I ran as fast as I could and we traveled already.
We got there just in time. I was stunned by that whole thing. The place was cozy for me and the people there were like royalty. man! I was so underdressed. Hereafter, a girl approached ate gisselle, some of the stuffs she gave was already signed by David and his band. I tried to talk to the girl if she could give the ballers to David and to his band before the concert starts. The girl said that they'd be leaving at 5pm but she'll give it anyways.
Haha. actually I stayed there and ate gisselle already left. While we, some fans, were waiting, some foreign bodies went down and stayed where we were staying. and Mike (I already know the name), in Archie's Band, did approach me and ask what's going on? and yeah. Haha just nothings.
This is absolutely my first time to do this kind of stuff such as follow your Idol's commitments. Haha, and so as an amateur, I've had an embarrassing moment. I talked to Alex (Bassist in Archie;s Band) but beforehand, I didn't know that he's in Archie's not Cook's. And I was talking to him about the baller. After such, he told me, 'oh I'm in Archie's Band. I was like, 'oh my gosh, my bad!' That was like humiliating.
It was 5:45pm when the davids actually left the hotel. I saw Archie, he's small and smiley boy. Haha while Cook was wearing glasses. He is indeed so breath-taking. That was my second time to see David Cook and my reaction was always, he looks exactly how he's like in TV.
We used the MRT for that and after, a cab. I went to Pupung's to meet some Cook-kulets. I made chika with them about that happenings at Edsa Shang. We all wore the baller. Haha That was heart-melting. Then proceed to the concert venue. My friends were already inside and so I go looked for them. and there they were. I made chika with them too about the experiences I had during the Davids' Fever here in manila. they were like, 'buti ka pa, nakita mo na sila ng personal', Haha.
Nakakatuwa. well, gotta continue this tomorrow. time na.
NEXT: The Concert Experience, The After Concert Incident, and Adventures that I had while getting to Shang and while Staying there.
Leaving it a thrill for you guys. Love you all! It's been a great experience guys!

Hi Gilda, so sorry that we didn't get a chance to see your message before we left. We had an early morning flight and didn't have internet access there. But we were fine and managed to navigate our way around very easily. We were on platinum right side surrounded by Archie fans but it was still pretty cool.

Philippines truly showed the Davids and all of us who visited lots of love. I'm not sure if the plans changed but missymarsie and I went by Gerry's Grill around 1pm on Saturday but didn't see any pinoy fans there. So we walked over to the concert grounds just to check out the venue ahead of time and see what it was like, swung by Gerry's Grill again on our way back but again didn't see any of you guys. I'm so sorry we didn't get to meet any of you but we had a lot of fun anyway visiting your country and of course had THE BEST TIME ever at the concert. I'm still in awe and not quite believing I saw DAVID COOK in the FLESH!
This was an unforgettable experience. If he ever visits Manila again, I'm THERE! Now who got a guitar pick?

WE ALL HAD A BLAST AT THE CONCERT... Thanks to you DAVID COOK!!!
I just wanna share all the experiences I had during the DC concert fever.
Unfotunately, I was not able to go SM North... too much things to do, i can't sneak out of the office.
I was also saving all my alibis as I'd be on leave the following day because I had to be at Eat Bulaga.
Thanks to my college friend, I got reservation seats for 2 at EB. I was with my niece... We were there at 10:30a.
Gilda, I was looking for you because I'd like to try na maisingit ka... but i didnt see you.
I only saw a girl holding a huge tarp, from PEX maybe... Nakiusap ako baka pwdeng makasingit pero ang higpit nila. At 11am, we were inside already... I was already bothered baka hindi na sila makapasok kasi ang daming tao... Sana man lang makita ni DC yung tarp especially made for him... sana man lang ma-feel nya how we love him...
Right before mag-start, I saw them... I saw Kat holding the tarp... I was relieved... I knew David would be so happy to see us... to feel how much we love him...
Break before DC's appearance, pinapwesto na sila sa gitna... Even the girl na merong hawak na drawing ni DC, pinatayo sa gitna... nung tinawag na sya.. nagkagulo na... nagtilian na mga tao... I was starstrucked, hindi ako makatili... hindi ako makapaniwala... the person I was watching last year at AI... the one I voted for during the AI Season 7 finals (kahit na hindi ko alam if my votes were counted)... the guy I cried with when he sang ABMB during the top7 performance... was actually a few meters away from me... halfway through his song... hindi na ko nakatiis... umakyat na ko ng stage! sa gilid lang pero ok na rin... baka kasi makita ako sa tv... mawalan pa ko ng trabaho...
And then concert day... TIME OF MY LIFE TALAGA... ang saya... ang daming tao... ang saya natin...ang saya ni David Cook!!!

Lesson learned: Next time kelangan may kasama ko to record videos and get pics... hindi ako makapagconcentrate sa panonood at pag video... ang gugulo ng kuha ko...

Hey guys, I'm feeling the highs and lows myself, SOO thrilled I was able to go to Manila and watch the show, that was such an incredible HIGH and now I'm bummed out that its over cos David left us all wanting more shows.
He HAS to come back and do an Asian tour! I'm definitely going back to Manila should he visit again and if he ever visits Singapore, you guys all know, we'll be your Singaporean ambassadors! Thanks again for everyone's offer of help, eventhough we didn't meet you guys, we still really appreciated the offer. I was in the Platinum left section and just happened to be surrounded by Archie fans, some that came from China even but it was all cool.
When David started, some of us tried to move up front a little bit. I didn't know the Cook fans around me but we all became friends anyway. I remember everyone looking around, grinning at each other and just loving every moment. *Sigh* I wanna do it again! Thank goodness I applied for leave from work today cos no way am I gonna be able to work right now.

shame on me, i am the poorest among all DC fan here. nasa silver kami ng mom ko. i was supposedly to buy Gold pero, ayun, we have to cut the money in half and now all thats left is a fee to buy 2 silver tickets. but its all worth it! i enjoyed singing AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS! i almost cry when David Cook came out. IT WAS A BIG BOOM FOR ME!!!! sayang din di kita nakita, i saw come dashers there @ Gerry's Grill,i saw, Jammez,danielle,arn,ate shinna, ate suzzie... basta marami pa, i can't remember the names nung iba na.

was very ok lang that the people hang around sa lobby.
