yep. yep. Roger is very fitting for DC. I'm not much into plays/musicals but when I saw Rent (1st Philippine production), courtesy of a friend, I was blown away by this rock musical. The 'in-your-face' attitude of this stage musical was so moving, entertaining, mind blowing... It was just so incredible and amazing!

And DC is so well informed about everything. He knows the Tony Awards which a lot people (even artists) are not aware of. So when I heard him say "Tony" , Rent's "Roger" popped into my mind. I love Roger's songs (solos, duets, etc) and I even memorized them .

David as a rocker, will slip into the role of Roger effortlessly, because he has been living it - a true to life rocker. And DC knows how to act and dance (see his Singing In The Rain stint in his high school?). And he's very sensitive. He's not afraid to show his emotions and shed tears in front of so many people (AI7 stage, radio station, in his homecoming, etc.). He was so funny in the Ford commercial where he acted as director, and the other finalists as actors. They were shooting a period scene with UFOs in it. He was so much in it having a great time. Reminds me of his Pirate joke to everyone -- "Rated ARGGGH!" SOOO FUNNNNY!

Grammy is within reach. Oscar and Tony are not impossible.

Archie did Think of Me and turned it into pop contemporary.

DC amazed everyone with Music of The Night. WHOA! This guy could even do semi-classical musical with no classical voice training at all. He didn't change much in the MOTN arrangement, unlike Archie's TOM. DC just added his rugged edge style at the end. This just proved DC's versatility, that he really is the total package, the real deal. And he deserves the American Idol title.

Carly was great and did not deserve to leave after this episode. As I've said in my other posts somewhere here, Superstar from Jesus Christ Superstar is a very difficult fast song. I've seen seasoned artists struggled with it. My friends and I saw the last Philippine production of JCS to see if Basti Artadi of Wolfgang could give justice to the the role of JC (which sadly he did not). Miss Saigon and London's West End veteran Robert Sena essayed the role of Judas and he sang Superstar. He did struggle. But Carly was incredible. After the results night, she definitely left before her time. The voters got it all wrong.

Syesha was great, too. She did a not so well known song from Starlight Express. Vocally and performance wise, she should not have been in the bottom 2.

I love Brooke, but to be fair, Brooke should have been the one to go, after struggling with You Must Love Me from Evita and forgetting her line, and starting all over again. Sadly, AI7 has become a popularity contest in this episode.

Jason had just proven he is not a well rounded artist as David Cook is. He was so embarrassed to know that a cat sang Memory. Well, when I was his age, I didn't know either. But I'm not a singer like Jason. Yes, he is a disappointment in this episode.

The Season is marathon is soo coool. I've seen Cookie's performances again.

gahhd. i overheard ASAP playing. and you know what they were singing? THIS IS THE TIME OF MY LIIIIIIFE. as in the sarah, christian, erik, rachelle group. di kaya kasuhan ng GMA? sa kanila galing ang pag-a-air ng AI. ahh whatever. i'm exaggerating again.

Archie is a good kid. He is really likable and sincere. You wouldn't hear him say something bad about any Idol. And our Idol, DC really like this kid and says nothing but praises about Archie. DC acts as an older brother to Archie, and Archie treats him as his mentor.

That's why when they did Hero, and Archie was fearing he would be drowned by DC, "inalalayan" sya ni DC. Unlike some other singers (especially in the local scene), in duets and group numbers, where they would act like divas and divos. Palakasan at pataasan ng boses. DC was even doing falsetto and lowering his voice in the Hero duet.

And then yesterday, Martin Nievera over Wowowee, did a very mediocre version of Time Of My Life. No impact at all.

Hopefully, the ASAP artists would give a satisfactory if not a good rendition of TOML.

It may sound sappy to some, for it, according to them, not DC's style. But David admitted he really, really like the song. TOML's lyrics can really struck a chord in most everyone. TOML's words are so beautiful.

David is a natural in comedy. I remember him in the Finals before they sang their first song when I asked what the other would say to the other. Archie showered DC with praises. DC said that everything else he would say would seem trite. And comically , from Ryan's the prodding, added "Oooooh! Archuleta" with facial expression as if he's gonna strangle Archie. It was so funny. Amidst the seriousness of the moment - the Finals - DC made it seem light and fun.
