Jason singing In Da Club. LMAO. I am actually kind of hearing that in my head, and it's terrible in an awesome sort of way.

But I'm kind of a closet hip hop fan anyway. OK, maybe not so "closet". But I am slightly ashamed of how much I love it. Hahahaha.

And all the finalists doing the Soulja Boy dance in the group number... I would pay good money to see that.

Although instead of Hot In Herre, I think DC should sing Party Like A Rockstar by the Shop Boyz. I mean, duhhh.

Grease week would be amazing! I loved the reality show (I think it was aired in the US an year or two ago?), although my favorite didn't win.

roflmao at "Crank That" group performance too but please no "Against All Odds", I'm so sick of it. It's so overdone in Idol shows, probably the most overdone. I pretty much hate it nowadays

My all time favorite theme is Big Band/Standards, because it's kind of hard to flop with those songs lol. And because I want David to sing "Just A Gigolo", it's like one of the most priceless songs I've ever heard done in these shows.

Maybe they should try Grease week next season.

Speaking seriously, I think they should try an acoustic week. Give some of the Ricky Minor band a week off. An acoustic week would really show everyone's true talent. If you can't sing with just a guitar backing you up, you can't sing.

David would kick ass during that kind of week.

I've thought about that too! I think that'd be amazing. I'm kind of obsessed with anything acoustic. Plus, like you said, David would do well with that theme, as would Jason, and they're my favorites so naturally I would love to see them do that theme.

I've also always wanted to see a Sting/Police theme week, because, well, I love them, and they've got a pretty broad catalog that I think could fit just about any contestant's style. Plus I think Sting would be an awesome mentor. He's pretty much my hero.

Annnnd I've always said they should do a Disney song week. I know that sounds kind of silly, but there are some great Disney songs! Imagine DC singing something like The Circle Of Life or A Whole New World. It would be badass. Also I would like to hear Brooke sing A Spoonful Of Sugar from Mary Poppins, because that would just be adorable.

Me too. I adore acoustic renditions of songs. It's like taking all the theatrics out of a song and showing the true meaning and vulnerability behind it. Perfect for a group of singers trying to show their aptitude.

EDIT: Oh, new theme idea! How about Bob Seger week? Holy crap, I would keel over of a heart attack if David ever sang "Night Moves".

I think it'd be funny if they had Ozzy week.

...If only for the fact that I think it'd be hilariously creepy if DA sang Mr. Tinkertrain. I could totally see DC doing something like Road to Nowhere, Mama I'm Coming Home, or Shot in the Dark (love that song).

They could also do Weird Al week, lol.

Hahaha, that's so funny because David comes just above David Lee Roth in my iTunes and that's the first song that comes up. So everytime I'm listening to David on my iTunes it usually goes from him right into "Just a Gigolo" and I start laughing everytime because I think of what it would be like if David sang it.

Snoop Dogg needs to mentor so we can have David Cook do Gin and Juice, all rocked up.

And Archuleta doing Drop it Like it's Hot would be too, too funny.

I think it'd be cool for them to take 2 genres and blend them together somehow. Force them all to be creative.
Or take 2 decades and blend them together.

Or like metal week, but they can't do them as metal, they have to do the songs differently -- make them into something else -- like pop, hip-hop, jazz, blues, etc.

Or take a lyric and put it to a different melody.

Challenge them more in this sort of way, so maybe they'd get how to be a musician.

Sheela, I totally heart your idea of Sting mentoring the contestants. He is such an amazing songwriter - and there would be MANY song choices to select from his catalog as well as The Police's. If David did "Why Should I Cry For You?", I'd be in HEAVEN.
