I have liked tons of AI contestants, but my all time favorite has always been Clay. Until now. There is just something about Cook that makes my warm fuzzies for Clay seem minor.

I also have liked Kelly, Carrie, Chris Richardson, Daughtry, Josh Gracin, Kelli Pickler... just to name a few.

I'm from the UK and I absolutely love Chris Daughtry. It was Chris that drew my attention to AI in the first place. I don't see any reason why Cookie can't have as much success as Chris has. Good luck David, can't wait for the album to be released.

I really like Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry & Blake, but my favorite has got to be Chris Rich. I think he was highly underrated. He has way more talent than most people know.

I have Kelly Clarkson's first two albums and Clay's first one.

I loved Clay on the show, but didn't like his album too much. For me, that year was a really fun watching experience but after it was over . . . it was over. Didn't watch 3, 4, or 5. Watched last year, loved Melinda, liked Blake but knew he didn't have a chance to win.

This year I loved so many of the contestants I am going to be so broke if they all get to put albums out. Loved Chikezie, Jason, Brooke, MJ, and Cookie. I really think if they let Cookie stop singing Magic Rainbows songs he will be really good for the show and will help bring it into the 21st century.

I do have one song from Blake's album. Even though he wasn't successful, I do think changing things up as much as he did really paved the way for Cookie and some of the other out-of-the-box things the kids got to do this year.

Even though I've watched every season - season 5 and now Cook's - are the only two I've ever voted in; and the only time I've ever truly had 'favorites'.

Reason being: I was sincerely moved to and felt the contestants were most deserving.

It took a few listens before I got into MOAM.

Try checking out his new one. He's really come a long way. It has a central theme, the production is amazing(producer is Kipper, who has worked with Sting and Chris Botti,) and it's an eclectic mix.

I loved Vonzell, Kat McPhee, Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, Blake Lewis.

This season is actually the first full season I have watched of AI, so I'm only familiar with what contestants have done after Idol.

I love Carrie Underwood, I have no idea where I get my love of country music from, she has an incredible voice.

I'm also a fan of Kelly Clarkson and Kat McPhee.

I would have to say Kelly Clarkson. She has an amazing voice and is extremely talented. She is also a great person and I loved her CDS. To me she is still my favorite American Idol winner so far. I just love her singing.

Jeannine, you are certainly entitled to your opinion - as many probably agree with you, I concur that it is valid.

However, I have made Clay Aiken a very important part of my life - I don't even believe I would be alive right now if I hadn't found him 5 years ago -

He makes me HAPPY, I really HAVE nothing else left in my "Real life", and I don't think there is anything wrong with me loving Clay and living for him, as I do - since it is the only reason I even get out of bed anymore.

People say I "need a life". Well, I have one, and it's name is Clay Aiken. And it sure beats my alternative.

my favorite idol will always be kelly clarkson hands down kelly clarkson because she's just an original! jordin sparks ever since she sang that if we hold on together by diana ross, i dont know if anyone rememers the land before time that was the credit song, carrie underwood i think she's brilliant she came from bein a farm girl to a sensation, Melinda Doolitte i thought she gonna take it last year, Ace Young of course, and 3rd seasons i just loved john stevens and i liked josh gracin and i think kellie pickler because she's seems like a sweetheart after hearin that story about her father bein in prison and her mother ditchin her it's kind of a sad in a way. and then there's elliot yamin who is doin really well, oh yeah and Constantine after seein him sing bohemian rhaspady i have to say he rocked it! and i think that's about it!

I love Bo! He was the first one to rock it and really that is my kind of music!




I have watched every season since the beginning and your picks are favorites! Although I am split pretty much 50/50 on Chris and DC. I did also really like Elliott but his music is not really my type.

5. Chris Daughtry was so far above everyone else that season (In my opinion)
6. Jordin and not so much for her voice as that she was the best one left and she was only 17.
7. David Cook by far. He is right up there with Chris Daughtry as being the best thing to come out of Idol. With Kelly C. trailing by a little.

I know that alot of people get irritated every year and threaten to quit watching it but I look forward to it because I would have never had the chance to hear some of these wonderful singers and they might not have had the chance to record and make some wonderful albums.

I've been a very sporadic AI watcher over the years - if I happened to catch it, cool - if not, oh well. So I count myself lucky that I caught onto David while he was still on the show. With my other favorites, I mostly got into them after AI ended and they put out their debut albums. I *love* Carrie and Kelly. I own both of Carrie's CDs and Kelly's first two - I haven't bought My December yet, but I probably will. I don't have Jordin's CD, but I'll sing along with "No Air" and "Tattoo" when I hear them. I'm a fan of Chris Daughtry and was floored when he was eliminated in Season 5. I have four of his songs downloaded onto my MP3 player. (I'm not a Claymate, but I bought Measure of a Man when it first came out. I also bought Kellie Pickler's Small Town Girl - her "Red High Heels" song was catchy! I don't follow Elliot's career, but I liked "I Will Wait For You" when I heard it on the radio.)

But my favorite Idol alums are DAVID, Carrie, Kelly, and Chris...and to a lesser degree, Jordin.

1. Kelly Clarkson was amazing and I loved her even more after Idol. She created some amazing albums.
2. Nobody really stood out for me.
3. Wasn't crazy about this season.
4. Carrie Underwood was a great performer and although I'm not a huge fan of country, her songs are really catchy!
5. Chris Daughtry should have one that season for sure! He blew everyone else away. His album is great! I can't wait until the next one comes out. He is someone I can listen to over and over and never get sick of.
6. Jordin Sparks was someone I liked listening to then, but love her even more now!
7. David Cook was in a league of his own. THIS MAN IS A MUSICAL GENIUS!

Season 1: I thought Tamyra Gray should have won, but I liked Kelly and still enjoy her music now. They were really the only 2 very good singers if I can recal correctly. I was furious and shocked when Nicki made it to final 3.
Season 2 I wanted Clay to win, but always felt he had more of a Broadway style type voice; now I just think he is weird.
Season 3- didn't have a favorite, didn't like Fantasia- too many runs, and ended every song with yeah, yeah, and oohs, drove me nuts.
Season 4- Liked Carrie and Bo, couldn't stand Constatine
Season 5- Loved Elliot and Chris Daughtry- thought they should have been the final 2. They were by far the most talented and actually have careers in music today, unlike Kat and taylor. i never understood the appeal of Taylor hicks.
Season 6- No-one completely stood out for me. It depended on the week who I liked more, no-one had me all the way through. As a whole, I found the season quite boring. I did like Chris Sligh(?) initially, but again he didn't impress me each week.
Season 7- I like David Cook at his audition, but he really had me when he sang Hello and his "word nerd" interview. This is the first season since season 2, I was really vested in. I looked forward to it each week, largely in part to see what arrangement David Cook would do next. I also enjoyed Michael Johns this season. To be honest, I never understood why David A. received so much praise and was never really called out for his mistakes. I'm sure it's related to his vocal chord condition, but his breathing techniques are not good. He would take such loud audible breaths that took away from his performances. He definitely improved as the season progressed, but by then it was too late for me anyways.

Blake Lewis and Chris Daughtry are two that I really liked. But I really like Constantine Maroulis from season 4. I have his CD of his band from New York "Pray for the soul of Betty" I still like him but hes not David Cook!!!

It was only during season 3 when Idol was aired here in the Philippines. So I have no idea how Season 1 and 2 went...

Season 3 - I liked Camile Velasco and JPL. However, I think this was the worst season.
Season 4 - I love Season 4! I loved both Carrie and Bo. I was so stoked when they were the last two standing. I remember not caring about who won then since both were my favorites anyway. Up until now I support anything these two puts out.
Season 5 - Didn't watch this one much although I did enjoy watching Taylor perform.
Season 6 - I was all about Blake Lewis. Loved that guy!
Season 7 - DUH. David Cook of course! And I have to say, he's definitely my ultimate favorite Idol contestant. He'll be so hard to top!

I forget most of them now, but season 2 i was a big fan of Clay Aiken. season 5 i loved daughtry and kat mcphee. season 6 i loved them all except sanjaya. season 7 i loved the 2 davids, michael, syesha, brooke, chikeze, ramiele, david hernandez, carly, well everyone except jason and kristy out of the top 12, but i thought a couple got jipped like i liked luke menard and alaina whitaker from the top 24.

We have the exact same musical taste, except that I was a huge Carrie fan during Seaon 4. Althought I really liked Bo as well and made sure too get his CD when it came out.

I didn't watch season one or two so I can't give my opinion on those. I loved Fantasia on season three, her performances were so good on the show! But I am not a fan of her kind of music. I bought her CD and only listened to it once. Remember Simon's face when she was on AI? Well that's what my face looked like!

I liked Bo on season 4.

Of course, season 5, Chris Daughtry, the one who should have won. I cried when he got voted off. I can't listen to "You Had A Bad Day" without seeing his face. I'm glad he is so succesful.

Season 6 boring! I never voted once for anyone this season. Kind of a protest for the season 5
debacle.

And then there was SEASON 7. I was going to hold to my word never to vote for anyone again, but along came DAVID COOK. He had me at Hollywood week and things will never be the same again!
