i voted for Clay in season 2 but i thought his "Invisible" song creepy. I love Daughtry. voted for Chris and was so shocked when he got eliminated just like i was when MJ went home this season. and I love Blake as well.

I didn't start watching and voting till season 5. Elliott was my fave that year, but when I heard the preview of the album, I was sort of disappointed a little. I did by Daughtry's album and it's one of my faves. I own A.D.D. (Blake's) and almost 5 months since the release, it's a CD I still love to listen to and I am still a fan. I also own Clay's "A Thousand Different Ways". I got that CD as a gift. I was planning to buy it before it was given to me. I know the CD is pretty much ballads, but I really love it.

The "You Give Love A Bad Name" performance is timeless! I think that one goes down in history or it does to me anyway.

Well, my all-time favorite Idol before DC was Chris Daughtry. Hubby and I were on board with him from the very beginning, and we were devastated when he came in 4th in S5. But we're very happy that his post-Idol career has gone swimmingly!

Last season I was all about Blake Lewis.

And further in the past...Kimberley Locke and Clay Aiken. I still love the title track from 'Measure of a Man' so much! And Clay's Christmas CD is AWESOME. One of my very favorites.

chris daughtry has been my personal favorite...altho i fell in love with Blake lewis when he did his rendition of bon jovi;) i also love Carrie and Kelly as well<3

Blake Lewis was the only reason I watched Idol last year.

I'm a huge huge Kelly fan.
I liked Clay until he went and befriended controversy.
It's kind of a blur until season 4 where I liked Carrie Underwood
My love for Chris Daughtry grew and grew in season 5. His cd is amazing. I liked Katherine that season as well.
Last season Jordin was my girl, and Blake was pretty amazing as well. That boy had the best Idol style!
For the last 4 seasons I've been pretty spot on picking my favourites from the first time I heard them audition. Season 4 I picked Carrie; Season 5 I picked Kellie Pickler, Chris and Katherine; Season 6 I picked Jordin; and this season I picked (obviously) David Cook.

I've been watching since the beginning, so I'll just list them in order

Season 1-Justin Guarini...for reasons I don't understand now that I'm older. I think it was kind of like how the teenaged Archie fans are.
Season 2-Clay Aiken, hands down LOL I was a proud "Claymate"
Season 3-Season 3 was probably my least favorite season. There wasn't anyone who I really loved. I was a fan of George Huff, though.
Season 4-Bo Bice. I was, and still am, a huge Bo Bice fan
Season 5-Chris Daughtry AND Taylor Hicks. I couldn't stand Katherine McPhee (no offense to fans of hers LoL)
Season 6-Blake Lewis

And now of course, adding to the list, Mr. Cook :-p Except this season I've had 2 big favorites, David AND Michael Johns, but more DC than MJ LoL Out of all of those people up there, I don't think I've ever been as big of a fan as I am right now of DC. I mean, I was a HUUUGE Bo Bice fan in Season 4. I did SO much vote recruiting. I even put "VOTE FOR BO" posters on the windows of my car Anyway, that doesn't even match up to how big of a fan I am of David's.

David is really too good for Idol if you ask me. He's like a guest star every week... so much better than everyone else it's almost comical at this point.

You've still picked quite a few with success since the show, which I think is actually better than just picking winners!

I actually like quite a few from almost every season, though I have to say my favorite of season 2 was Clay, and my favorite last season was Blake (Chris Rich was a close second), though I've seriously really liked a lot of contestants (I've got Elliott, Bo, Bucky, Jordin, Kelly Clarkson, Jon Peter Lewis, Brandon Rogers, Daughtry, and Taylor's albums, among others). I really like quite a few from this season, too, though David is definitely my favorite of all of them.

I loved Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry. With both of them I knew from their auditions that they're gonna get really far (not just in the competition but sales-wise as well) and they did. And I love David because I know he's up there in the same league as Chris and Carrie.

Up until Season 5 you and I have the same list. I was an Elliott fan. I didn't vote and barely watched Season 6. No one grabbed me at all. I was ready to give up on this season, too, until...Hello, David Cook.

oh, and Justin was cute and charming. He works better as a television personality than a musician.

But NO ONE can beat David Cook.

Honest, I didn't really watch until 4. I like Kelly and Clay, but did not watch AI back then. Season 4 I was just getting into it a little. I knew Carrie would be huge, but there was something I didn't like personally about her. *shrugs* Still don't know what it is, but she's a good performer.

Season 5 was Taylor, Season 6 was Blake. I felt they were both very unique, and I was (unfortunately) right when I said even if they won they wouldn't sell very well. (runs and hides from bashing) I still like Taylor, but not so much the album he put out after AI.

This season I didn't pick my favorite, I let my favorite pick me. Does that make sense? Instead of going off auditions I watched week by week to see who got the "Oh, that was goood". I found come week 3 (top 16 is it???) I was saying to my husband "You need to watch THIS one" when David Cook came on, because his first two performances had just given me chills. My husband then responded that I had complained during top 24 week when Brooke also did "Happy Together" because she didn't come close to what David had done. So, there you go. David Cook won me over on pure talent

I really like jordan and blake from last year, i was def a fan of Taylor Hicks, but he kinda disapeared now...i liked Bo from the year before and I thought Carrie was really good 2. Clay is awesome and i think justin guarini is really cute : )

But, between AI2 and now, I have been let down and/or quickly lost interest every time. I don't even own any Idol music that isn't Clay with 2 exceptions:

I bought Kim Locke's debut for the duet with Clay. But, rather than skip directly to the duet, I listened to the whole thing start to finish, and really loved it. But, I haven't listened to it in ages.

I also downloaded Blake's TOTS, and it is one of my fave Idol performances ever.

This is the first time since Clay that I have cared this much about a contestant beyond the finale. I am eagerly waiting for my husband to fix my computer so I can get TOML from iTunes. And, I am eager for David's first album.

I wish the Idol tour was coming close enough for me to go. I didn't even see the AI2 tour, but if I could, I would go to this year's, just to see David.

As for Clay and controversy - some of it is his own independence and proclivity for speaking his mind. But, much of it is not his fault. For whatever reason, the media and haters latched onto him and wouldn't let go. I don't like it, but i have learned to live with it. I love him for his forthrightness(even if he is not always politically correct.) I also love him for his dedication to UNICEF, education and inclusion.

And, I think Invisible is much less creepy than Every Breath You Take.(Sting outright admitted it was a stalker song.) And, Clay said that at first, the lyrics weirded him out, too. Then he thought about what they had to say.

To me, it's about wanting someone so badly, and realizing that no matter what you do, it's never gonna happen. You will always be "invisible" to them.

I didn't watch the show in real time before season 4. I remember hearing about Nikki when Finland's first Idol season had ended because Hanna (the winner) was compared to Nikki. Watching Diana's performances still gives me goosepumps, especially "One Voice", actually that was the performance that made a fan in first place.

I was a HUGE Constantine fan and I still remember how devastated I was when he got voted off the show. It was so creepy, I kept hearing original songs of his performances on the radio all the time, there was a ton of videos available of American talk shows and news shows etc. that discussed on his elimination... I didn't really care who won that season although I had liked Carrie very much in earlier rounds. And yeah, Mikalah was herself and always fun to watch.

Usually people have favorites from same genre every season, but I can't really find much similarities between David, Jordin and Constantine, lol. Only thing that comes to my mind is that all of them were so different and surprised me every week. I don't care to watch these shows just to see ordinary good singers I can hear every day on the radio, I want something different. There have been some amazing singers in AI history (like Elliott, Melinda and Carly) that I never liked and it kind of frustrates me because I *should* like them but for some reason I can't.

AI 1: I didn't watch, but have since gone on to like Kelly Clarkson, and have three of her albums.
AI 2: First season I watched, and so began my obsession with Clay Aiken. I'm a proud Claymate, who will always support him, voted for him, belongs to his fanclub, fequents his messages boards, (and have made many friends doing so,) have seen him in concert 5 times, and own every single album he's made along with a ton of DVD's of him. I also like Josh Gracin, have his first album and will get his latest soon, and bought Kimbery Locke's CD, strickly for her duet with Clay though. Can I recommend Clay's new album "On My Way Here"? Totally awesome, as you can tell from my signature, really something for everyone on there.
AI 3: Didn't really have a clear favorite there, but was glad when Fantasia won, sort of liked George Huff, "The Pen Salesman", (how sad is it I can't even think of his name right now?!) and thought John Stevens was cute, enough to get his album.
AI 4: I saw the Idol tour, was obsessed with Constantine, but really don't know why now! Sort of like Carrie Underwood, and have her first album, might get her second, and still love Bo Bice, wanted him to win, and have both of his albums.
AI 5: Loved Chris Daughtry and still do, have his album and saw him open for Bon Jovi this past February, which was so awesome! Also like Elliot Yamin and Katharine McPhee, have both their albums.
AI 6: Liked Chris Richardson, Loved Phil Stacy, will get his album soon, and Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks, have both of their albums.
AI 7: Hmmm, let me think on this one...Oh Yeah! David Cook! Duh! Obsessed with his as much as I am with Clay, and that's saying something! Voted every single week, cryed when he won, will support him forever, can't wait for his album, and will see him in concert July 19th! And I also liked Michale Johns, Carly Smithson and Jason Castro.

I liked Blake too. I really thought he should have won. I got annoyed that he was not allowed to do what he wanted to do with the winner's song, perhaps he could have performed it better, and they were judged almost purely on how they performed that song, which was unfair. He was the best contestant of that season. His performance of You Give Love a Bad Name is Still the alarm tone of my cellphone. It was the most memorable song of season 6 for me.

I loved Blake last season.
And Chis Daughtry the season before.

But, the best in my heart, is David Cook.
