I've been reading on other boards about foregin fans beeing able to vote for DC by using Gizmo.
Does anyone know if that's true ?

I'm downloading it now to try. I am an American living abroad, and it's killing me that my right to vote as an American is taken away by being overseas. I have Skype right now, which is a similar service, but American Idol blocks it. I have a feeling this will be blocked too, but I'm going to try it tonight and I will report back on the success. If anyone else has tried it, let me know.

I've heard that it does work. Just have to be careful about getting your 2 hour voting window correct.

There's one little thing. Just because a person using "Gizmo" or any of the other online phone system hears the "Thank You" that may not be a guarantee that your vote is being counted. I wouldn't put it past AI to disregard that vote if they see it's coming from outside the US.

If it didn't cost me a arm and a leg I'd go for it anyway.

what is a gizmo? I really want 2 vote for DC. I'm indonesian who lives far away from US but i still want 2 vote...if anyone know bout this,please PM me.

i downloaded gizmo last night and voted my **S off!! i kept getting the msg.."thank you for voting contestant 2, watch american idol tommorrow..."

i tried it out first to call a friend in buffalo..and it worked..so iam hoping my votes count.

so how do u download this gizmo thing, cuz i live just outside toronto as well and i have been DYING to vote for david but i dunno how, i would vote until my fingers fall off from dialing, so if u could reply back that would be awesome, thanks =)

just follow these steps..
1. Download Gizmo here: http://www.gizmoproject.com
2. Install Gizmo.
3. Find out what time the phone lines open in your country. Those in the GMT +8.00 time zone (Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and I can't remember where else), it's 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
4. When the phone lines open, dial David's number and press 'enter' or click on the green phone button/call button.
5. When you get through, you'll hear an automated message that goes, "Thanks for voting for contestant six (or two, or whenever David is in the line-up that week). Watch American Idol blah blah blah." The message is pretty much useless, so hang up the minute you hear 'thanks' and vote again.
6. Repeat for the entire two hours.
