Really? I thought it was pretty pitchy, although it could have been the recording. Difficult song to sing. I have never liked it and have always wished a prettier song was our National Anthem like America the Beautiful.

I agree he did such a good job. I listened to a vid that someone took from the stands and he sounded so much better and richer than what was on tv. The NA is difficult to do anyway and I loved how he did it. Just sang it straight without all those rifts and runs. biggrin.gif

..I'd had the flu the last few days and have sooooooo fallen behind on all the 'goings-on', MANNNNNNNNN I'm feelin' so out of touch right now-- I HATE it, LOL!!! laugh.gif

..so I hadn't even KNOWN he had done this??!!!!! ..and of course now I'm beatin' myself up, because I'm wondering if this might've been nationally televised on ESPN or somethin'.. where I could've seen this on TV!!! ..darnitt!!! smile.gif

..AND I haven't even yet seen the Africa pics or anything!!! LOL, I have some CATCHIN' UP TO DO!!! laugh.gif

..I was still at the tail end of the flu this past Monday, when it was my team's home opener (The Arizona Diamondbacks smile.gif ..but I am SUCH a huge fan of baseball.. and of my TEAM.. that I was NOT gonna miss it!!! rolleyes.gif ..there was some country guy singing the Anthem.. I'm not real big into country music so Darnitt I just plain can't remember his name.. he did it just fine.. BUT..

..I have to say, I think David was far superior!!! ..LOL and just because I'm biased doesn't mean it isn't still TRUE!!!!!! LOLOLOLLLLL!!!!!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

..someone mentioned pitchiness-- I just plain don't hear it.. someone else mentioned how hard of a song this is to sing-- I couldn't agree more-- it truly is a hard song to sing.. and you couple this with a sellout of 45,000-plus people surrounding you.. a huge camera right in front of you being aimed right at your face.. and your hero Major League Baseball players surrounding you.. and I'm guessin'.. there are a TON of nerves throwin' through that boy, also!!! smile.gif ..I think he did an AMAZING job.. smile.gif
