David Cook is coming back to VA! Who's going! (besides me).
Not in my neck of the woods, so I won't be there, especially since I'm just coming back from going to Ryan's EP Release event in NYC a couple of days earlier. I hear these are outdoor concerts. Bet it will certainly be hot and sticky for you all.

I'm going! I'm so excited to see David and Andy and the rest again, especially since it has been so long! By the time the concerts get here, it will have been eight months... wow. And oh yay, heat! (That's sarcasm.) But a DC&TA show is worth all the hot and sticky. Then we get to do it all over again the next day! It will be an awesome weekend, can't wait!

Anyone else going?

Where are you guys getting this information from? It's not posted davidcookofficial yet... Just wondering the source before I go and request time off from work. Disney's very fickle about giving time off these days.
Thanks A Million

A friend of mine from the East Coast told me about it, but here is the link from the Busch Gardens site talking about it...

The dates aren't 100% confirmed yet, so I would wait a little before I ask off from work. Just until we get "official" confirmation from DCO or somewhere.

Well, if they aren't official, the theme park has jumped the gun. That would be interesting.

Yeah, someone called Busch Gardens, and they said the dates may change.

Goodness. I hope that people haven't booked flights already. I would not be a happy camper if I was going and they changed the dates. If I lived there, I would be a little more easy going about it.

Yeah, I've seen some tweets about people already booking their flights... It worries me a little bit.

Sounds like it is best to wait until the date is finalized. I do realize that it is more economical to book flights as far ahead as possible, though. It is difficult to win under that kind of situation. Hopefully, for those who are traveling, the dates are accurate.

It's also up on our local paper's web site. All the other dates for this concert series are filled. But these are new owners of Busch Gardens so who knows...

Yesterday I reread this tweet from @BuschGardens_VA:
QUOTE
David Cook is performing on Aug 7 & 8. All concerts & times are subject to change w/out notice. Concerts are free w/ admission.
because I didn't pay much attention to it the first time because I was still freaking out. But it seems like the show dates could change at any time, even the day before the concert. I don't like the sound of that. :\

That just sounds like typical jargon to protect them in case the concert gets canceled for some reason. Probably, there won't be a problem.

See ya there.

Well, I am going to try to make it there for the Saturday show. Of course, this is going to cost me because I have to bring my two daughters and 5 grandchildren. Yikes!!! Of course they never have any money and then there is the hotel, etc.
What I do for David Cook!!!

It's written in the American way of writing dates, M/D/Y. I
wish the concert was tomorrow, though.

Looking forward to reading your recap. If I were there, I would probably be holed up in the beer tasting tent all day. That place is usually pretty cool. Glad you plan on staying hydrated.

Hope Neal gets there. Said something about his flight being canceled, LOL. I swear, his luck with flying is bad at best. No wonder he hates flying.
Jeannine
Well, they finally managed to get there and it looks like their luggage will get there as well (oops....just saw Kyle's tweet...his didn't). Hope the rest of the weekend goes a teeny bit smoother for them. Note to self....don't ever fly with Neal. He has bad airplane karma, for sure.

Well, at the hight of the day, it will be hot; however by the time the concert starts, it will cool off. The humidity isn't bad around here in my area. At least it is sunny for the two days with no rain forecast.
Those people standing in line all day get to deal with the heat at its height. Hope they have umbrellas with them for shade. Plus water and sunscreen.

David is singing at least two new songs at soundcheck now, one of which is Paper Heart
DCO show thread has audio and video:
http://bit.ly/ctXBpv
Listened to both. Gonna take a little time to see how I feel about them. I'm not sure yet. I look forward to hearing the recorded version. Do we know who he wrote these with?
Can't for the life of me understand why people line up so early. I guess they aren't going to check out the park?

Paper Heart (David Cook / Julian Emery / James Lawrence Irvin co-write).
I am not sure how I feel about it either. Listening to it on YouTube isn't ideal and the sound isn't the greatest in general particularly with all the fans screaming in the background and the acoustics in general. Well, I've learned that I have to listen to a song a few times before I decide. Since it will be on the album, I doubt it would be his single because he wouldn't have leaked that knowing people would be putting it up on YouTube. The general vibe sounds like Analog Heart stuff after a few listens but stepped up a bit. It doesn't sound like DCTR. Definitely more rock.
But then, what do I know....
It may be more rock, but the song just doesn't grab me, especially melodically. No hair standing up on my arm, that's for sure. I listened to it several times on HD with better sound and still no reaction from me. I'm not sure what to think at the moment. I guess I'm in a "wait and see" mode right now. I'm frustrated because I really like David and I so want to like this new music.

As I said on another thread, I absolutely love Paper Heart and can't get enough of it. The other new song he sound checked was great too. I am now more than ever excited for this cd. Davids music is much better than most stuff I listen to on the radio. But this is just my opinion.

The beauty of music is that is is so subjective. What vibes with one person may not vibe with another. It certainly makes for a more interesting existence.

The sound on this Paper Heart clip was so wretched I can't imagine forming an opinion of the song yet. I love David of course, and I love most of his first CD, but not every track thrills me and I assume that will be the case with this new music. I just hope the singles they release are chosen with great care.

I love it and have found if I can sing a melody after two listens, then it bodes well for the track. Really love it.
