I want to say that I am a huge fan of all the remaining idols. I do however vote for Cookie.

That being said, Cookie and Castro look completely out of place during these performances. The girls do great and so does Archie, but thats because I feel like I'm watching a parade at Disneyland (to steal Simon's description).

These group performances are just plain corny, and I actually cringe watching Cookie do them. Don't get me wrong, Cookie gives 125%, and is completely on key each time, but he looks out of place. Its just kind of is a blatant reminder that the format of the show gears more towards Archie's fans.

If AI wants to gain credibility, they really need to figure out something better.

I agree. David looked so in control when he was singing and walked across the stage during the group song.

True. Last night's was better than the other previous group performances. But it would have been even better, if the other four weren't in the performance at all.

DC's the one with the most presence, in full charge there.
It's just that much clearer to see with fewer people left.

The group medleys are pure cheese -- add a ND tribute, and it's the smelliest cheese ever.
These kids are good sports to have to go through with the torture!

haha! So true! To me, the group performances for the most part are 100% cheesy but yeah, take the other 4 out, then we could have had a REAL performance!

haha I know I just cringe when I watch them! Poor DC, he does a great job but its just really not his style! I sayyyyy....have the group number with DC in front and all the rest as back up singers!

I think his theater background helps too. Also ya know, he said in an interview at the beginning that he doesn't dance...well Mr. Cook, I do say you have yourself some natural rhythm.

I think the group performances were better when there was a big group of them

My favorites were from dolly partron week and the year your were born theme. You could tell they were just having a good time and not taking it serious.

I do agree that the group performances are cheesy, but I actually think Cookie is the least awkward out of all of them. He definitely has the most stage presence. I loved the "BROTHERS AND SISTERS!" part at the end of last night's song. For some reason, that made me laugh hysterically.

They just keep getting worse and worse, too, haha. This was probably the worst group song so far. The "year you were born" song was definitely the best. Two words: CHEST BUMP.

Also, does Jason's dancing remind anyone else of a Muppet?

A cute stomping Muppet. That guy has no rhythm, none. It is really comical. I can't help liking him, he's so genuine. Doesn't mean I have ever or will ever vote for him, but I think he's kind of cute.

I've never been big on the group performances, mainly because they're usually so damn cheesy.

It's like the Brady Bunch hour when they do those.

Yeah, that was one of the best. I liked that one and Dolly Parton week. This past one, I didn't enjoy so much, but I like the ones that are more fun, and, well, cheesier. I like that this year the contestants (Cookie included) seem to embrace the cheese, and often have fun with it. However, I do think they were best when Michael Johns was around. He and David seemed to have fun together.
I personally hope they'll have quite a few ridiculous group performances while on the tour.

True, the group performances are getting kinda cheesy these days. You have to give props to the finalists for at least putting in effort for something that's cheesy-peasy.
