Ok, so there are numerous threads on this site asking the same question over and over again.. (or at least variations of the same question) and it is driving me crazy so I wanted to post this message and then see if this could put an end to more posts on the same topic..


Q. Does David Cook want to win American Idol? (it's been phrased many different ways, but this is the question that everyone seems to be asking)

A. The correct answer would be: "Yes.... Yes.... YES.."


There are many reasons why it's obvious that David Cook wants to be the next American Idol.. and I have put together a Top Ten list of reasons why he wants to and why he deserves to win Season 7 of American Idol


1. He has the most talent.

2. He works very hard each and every week to deliver his best performance for his fans.

3. He would not work as hard as he has if he was not SERIOUS about winning.. HE IS IN IT TO WIN IT!!

4. He is respectful and gracious to everyone and those are some of the qualities that should be required to become the next American Idol.

5. He wants you to vote for him based on his performance, not out of "sympathy" for him or his family.

6. He stood up to Simon and over the past weeks he has earned Simon's respect for doing so. (Which is not an easy task)

7. He has an amazing stage presence, an ungodly amount of sex appeal and a great voice.

8. He keeps his personal and family life private- and that's a good thing.

9. He actually takes the judges advice and uses it to make each performance the best it can be.

10. He is creative and he writes powerful, meaningful lyrics and has producers lining up to work with him.


So, please people... read this list.. memorize this list if you have to, and please remember this list when you go to vote each week and let it inspire you to vote for David Cook as many times as you can.

He has given us so many wonderful performances so far, and there are a few more still to come... and he has been through a lot since the season began, and yet he still gets up there and gives us everything he has..

HE WANTS THIS, HE NEEDS THIS.. SO PLEASE LET'S MAKE SURE WE VOTE FOR HIM AND LET HIS DREAM COME TRUE!!


This is the year that we can make sure that Idol gets it right and the only way to do that is to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!



So, that's it..that's my "rant" about this topic,, now please let's just all agree that YES he wants to win and that we are all going to do what it takes to make sure he wins.

Great post and 100% true. It isn't our place to decide whether David "wants" or "needs" to win this. Unless we hear otherwise from him, we should just assume that he wants this and we should do everything in our power to give it to him.

Now, when it comes to Reasons why we love him, there are millions.....at least for me!

Oh StephyDee-- I totally agree with you!! How could we ever put together a list of all of the reasons to vote for him or all of the reasons why we love him.. Goodness.. that list would stretch across the entire country and then back around again.. yeah, If given enough time, I am sure we could make a list with one million reasons on it.. but good lord, when would we find time to eat and nap and bathe... you know, to cover the basics at least?? LOL

Yes, this topic needs to be put to bed and in fact there was no reason for it to be questioned in the first place. If someone is on the show, you assume that it's because they want to be there and we can keep him there as long as we VOTE!

That is a good list. I'm glad somebody made a very clear explanation of why we need to keep voting for him and get him to win. I've always wanted him to win, so it drives me a bit crazy that people question whether or not he should (even though they have the best intentions).
