Full Version: The DC Optimistic Cheerleading Squad...

Hey girls (and guys, even though you don't come out much LOL)!

Well...yesterday there was a thread that I posted under and people were talking about how they were staying positive this week and that it was like a DC cheerleading squad. Yesterday, I said I couldn't be a part of it because I was trying to be realistic. Well anyway, I can't find the thread, but I'd like to say that I've had a change of heart.

I woke up this morning and for some reason, all of the negativity I had about this upcoming week was gone. I don't know what changed my mind, but something did. I'm feeling pretty optimistic now, and I think it's going to be a good week biggrin.gif Sure, I'll still be INSANELY nervous on Wednesday, but I'm not going to bring everyone down anymore with my realism laugh.gif

So...is there still a spot open? tongue.gif

Woot! I'm glad to hear it, Steph! biggrin.gif

I know there are a lot of reasons to be worried right now, but I'm the kind of person who just refuses to worry about things I don't have any control over. I do everything I can (in this case, voting) but after that I know it's out of my hands and there's no use worrying about it. That's always been my philosophy on life, and now it's my philosophy on Idol too. Besides, all the other aspects of my life are REALLY stressful right now... school, work, friends... so Idol/DC is sort of my stress-free zone that lets me just have fun and forget about everything else that's going on, and I'm not going to let senseless worrying ruin that for me.

There's always room on the cheerleading squad! The more the merrier! Hehehe tongue.gif

I'm pretty sure I started the whole "cheerleading squad" thing, and I don't even remember what thread it was in. laugh.gif It was just because I, along with a few other posters on here, am always the one trying to curb people's negativity and get them thinking happy, positive thoughts for Cookie.

There are no try-outs. All you have to do is join me, Steph, etc. in thinking good thoughts and spreading the Word Nerd love to the masses!

Besides, you're automatically invited because that cheerleading smiley is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Haha.
Pam08
I love that smiley too! hehe!

Hahaha, that's so awesome!
I've never cheered in my life, haha. But I was in theatre in high school and we did one act play contests in the spring, and it was a very stressful environment. I was always the one trying to get everyone into the "WE CAN DO IT!" mindset. I was always giving pep talks and leading everyone in uplifting songs and chants before performances. laugh.gif That's just always been my thing, I guess.
Pam08
Sorry, I can't be involved in the human pyramid cause I would fall and break something. laugh.gif I'm all for the positive reinforcement all the way! biggrin.gif

I'm on the team. I even lead us in a Be Aggressive talk about voting!

Sleela's the team captain though!

I use to love to cheer but talk about bitchy girls.. some of those girls use to push my "bitch button" and it got quite ugly quick.. I did love my time as a cheerleader though and enjoyed the football games.. I really was more into watching the game than cheering.. although I still go to the local football games and give a good shout now and again.. you know.. for old times sake.. ha
