I’m tired of reading all these theories about why it would be better for David Cook to be out of the competition. That seems like supporting the enemy’s strategy. I haven’t seen any Archuleta’s fan asking not to vote for him but all the opposite. I don’t doubt DC will be successful no matter what happens, but I’m sure he wants to win this thing and he will do better if he does. For those who argue that AI is a bad mark for a rocker and claim about the great possibilities that DC will have if he’s out, let’s not forget that Daughtry always is referred as “the ex American Idol contender”, which means he still has to live with the AI tag, even if he was voted of. If David Cook wins, that’s going to be wonderful for AI, but for him as well. That’s going to give the show a lot of its lost prestige and maybe DC will be the hugest star ever on the show’s history. So please, let’s vote for him, he deserves to win and he needs our votes!

I agree. There is a lot of buzz that he will be better off to go out early like Chris D, but the fact is that Chris would be selling like he is selling and getting the honors and airplay that he is receiving regardless of where he placed.....because he is mad talented and a great songwriter. And the same applies to David Cook. Hopefully the show will back him up, get him hooked up with all-star writers in the rock industry and help him make a great album, winner or not. He is their best bet for the show's continued credibility right now.
I don't understand the theories either, however as fans just remember that David wants this, so lets do our best to make this happen!

Either it's a way of reverse psychology, or that those people who made up these theories really want the best for Cookey.

Ok, so there are numerous threads on this site asking the same question over and over again.. (or at least variations of the same question) and it is driving me crazy so I wanted to post this message and then see if this could put an end to more posts on the same topic..
Q. Does David Cook want to win American Idol? (it's been phrased many different ways, but this is the question that everyone seems to be asking)
A. The correct answer would be: "Yes.... Yes.... YES.."
There are many reasons why it's obvious that David Cook wants to be the next American Idol.. and I have put together a Top Ten list of reasons why he wants to and why he deserves to win Season 7 of American Idol
1. He has the most talent.
2. He works very hard each and every week to deliver his best performance for his fans.
3. He would not work as hard as he has if he was not SERIOUS about winning.. HE IS IN IT TO WIN IT!!
4. He is respectful and gracious to everyone and those are some of the qualities that should be required to become the next American Idol.
5. He wants you to vote for him based on his performance, not out of "sympathy" for him or his family.
6. He stood up to Simon and over the past weeks he has earned Simon's respect for doing so. (Which is not an easy task)
7. He has an amazing stage presence, an ungodly amount of sex appeal and a great voice.
8. He keeps his personal and family life private- and that's a good thing.
9. He actually takes the judges advice and uses it to make each performance the best it can be.
10. He is creative and he writes powerful, meaningful lyrics and has producers lining up to work with him.
So, please people... read this list.. memorize this list if you have to, and please remember this list when you go to vote each week and let it inspire you to vote for David Cook as many times as you can.
He has given us so many wonderful performances so far, and there are a few more still to come... and he has been through a lot since the season began, and yet he still gets up there and gives us everything he has..
HE WANTS THIS, HE NEEDS THIS.. SO PLEASE LET'S MAKE SURE WE VOTE FOR HIM AND LET HIS DREAM COME TRUE!!
This is the year that we can make sure that Idol gets it right and the only way to do that is to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!

Someone who met him in vegas last night and got a picture with him blogged this on myidol.
He looked at the picture and said it was really good, a woman told him that he was going to win. He was so humbled. He said he hoped so. Then some girls told him how they vote every Tuesday. He smiled and said thank you and I then told him how we have 3 cells phones and a landline going in the house and he smiled and said "OMG WOW That's AWESOME!" and I told him I was going to be at the finale and he said "Me too!" then said "Well I hope so. Actually, I'll be there either way!" and I said "WELL SO WILL I!" lol and he said "Then I'll see you at the finale!" and hugged me and said bye to everyone, thanking them for sticking around and coming to see them, then he left as did the rest of the idols. David was the only one out of the four who came over and talked to us ... which I thought was pretty awesome ....
