Awww, traffic. I'm sure if that's actually the case, the Idols are disappointed about not being able to come out. I bet they'll say something on stage tonight about it.

No, they did not come out at all. Didn't bother to tell us until after 4. Supposedly stuck in NY traffic.

WOW, so sorry for all of you! I can definately understand about NYC traffic...Someone at the Hall should have notified you earlier---that wasn't very nice. Maybe you'll get to see them afterwards, I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed! wink.gif
Jul
I'm sure at least some of them will come out after.. smile.gif I'm thinking it's looking unlikely for the Davids, though, bc they'll probably whisk them off to LA for the TCAs.

Oh - that's to bad about the traffic - we had kind of yucky weather here today in NJ/NY so there was probably alot of people who drove into the city for the day and the parkway traffic on a Saturday is really very heavy.

The Broadwalk Hall really should have said something; but the PruCenter on Thursday at least never said anything either about them being late.

The folks that have been down there since this morning I am sure are unhappy - hopefully they are not too disappointed.

I agree with you - the Davids should be flying out later tonight for LA for the TCAs.

Oh well.

Security can be nice, but they never seem to know about that stuff. rolleyes.gif We asked various guards about times, and they said they don't know until someone radios them and says they're coming.. so it seems that they're really the last ones to know.

I am so sorry for those of you who waited. Hopefully you'll get some time after the show.

It always seems to be security who is the last to know...and sometimes they pretend to know. Often the fans won't believe them even when they do know.

Enjoy the show!

wow that really sucks sad.gif.
i hope people get to meet them at night then atleast.
when the thunderstorms were happening i thought about everyone waiting outside and felt really bad. sad.gif

Awwww, I feel so bad for all of them ... I'm sure they're disappointed. But hopefully, the Idols will make time after the show. I sure hope so.

See you all there! I'm in section 103, row FF, seat 5.

I LOVE that picture!!! Your T-shirt must look awesome! laugh.gif

Unfortunately, no Cookie love after the show either. Everyone came out except Chikeze, Michael, and David C. Very disappointing for those of us who had waited earlier in the day, but the show was AWESOME.

xtremely - I love your banner. LOVE IT. So sorry you didn't get the chance to see David today - I am sure it was disappointing. Glad you liked the concert though.

The concert was absolutely amazing!!!! OMG DAVID COOK WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He is soo hot to watch! Unfortunatley I didn't get a chance to meet David or any of the other idol contestants but we have DC's solo tour! biggrin.gif I was in tears when I didn't meet him.sad.gif

The show last night was awesome!!!! I was a little disappointed with my seat as I had a side view and my small section was pretty quiet. I was in the front row and wanted to stand and enjoy the show and I kept looking behind me and most people were sitting. I tried to be polite during the first half but after intermission I wasn't sitting down so they just had to deal with me standing and screaming!!!! They all looked amazing and sounded great. DC was completely scrumptious tongue.gif I am still working on my pics but here's one that came out pretty good.

I have to agree. That was one awesome concert. I actually got a nice surpise. I knew I had a decent seat. Floor 1 section 14 seat 14 but I was thinking that that the seats were numbered right to left . I was wrong. left to right numbering. I had the seat at the end of the row. 3 rows off of where the stage comes out. I was basically right on the corner. I took what I could with my little camera but no digital camera. I'll have to scan them when they get developed. Sorry cant share more guys. Anyway David was so completely amazing for the whole set. I have never had a better view at a concert and probably never will again. Totally awesome. Everyone else was wonderful as well with Michael Johns, Brooke, Carly and David A putting in truly amazing performance. These were my favorites, other than David Cook of course. That was just the most intense experience imaginable. Unfortunately as you guys all know we did not get to see David at all before or after the show. Only the people at the special indoor meet and greet got to do that. I did have a great time meeting all of the other fans though. THe renegade Jitneys, obnoxious cocky head of security guy, strange wandering shirtless men, and of course papawhatevers the only place we could have gone to get the much needed liquid refreshment while waiting for, OK guys how long now, can we say 6 hrs before the show, was the best time I have ever spent standing on a street corner. LOL. But hey, got to see the buses come in which was cool and got to catch a glimpse of what looked like either Kristy Lee or Brooke waving back at us. Also cool. THen was able to get to the front of boardwalk hall and get a good enough spot to get autographs of; Carly, who is so absolutely beautiful, for my son, Jason Castro, adorable, for my friend, Kristi Lee Cook and Brooke White, also beautiful and very friendly. Brooke got to get a piggy back ride back into the hall from her husband, she is adorable. Sorry about the lack of phone call to others but my cell phone had died on me. Anyway again after waiting it out until the bitter end we were obviously crushed not to be able to see David. With everything going on I guess that they had to wisk him away to NY or LA or somewhere. Anyway that would have been the icing on the top of a very memorable day. Thanks to everyone who was there and made what could have been a very grueling day actually pretty fun and entertaining. Definitly one for the memory books. I've already warned the family that whenever this guy goes on tour I will be attending at least one show. He is absolutely amazing. By the way the cute little guy with the glasses and the teddy bear that won the guiotarhero game, the younger one, was sitting right in front of me. I am responsible for ruining that poor childs hearing. He forgave me though. He just kept saying that I was loud but everyone else was too so his ears would have hurt even without me screaming. I definitly did my part though. Can honestly say that I sang every word of TOML to the best of my ability. For that matter I sang all of his songs. I didnt note any tears but he did thank us all for singing. I honestly didnt think that I would have a voice today but it isnt as bad as I thought it would be. Thank god. Probably because of there only being 5 DC songs. Screaming and singing through a whole concert of David Cook definitely would have wrecked me. I would have gone mute happily though. Well thats it. Special shout out to Laura and everybody else. Great meeting Yall. By the way, QUAGMIRE RULES.
maywee1956
We had an entertaining guard where I was standing as well (I was around the corner from the doors where you were standing Annette). I wonder if it was the same guard...He was so great we got his autograph too! He was so funny when we asked for it. I thought most of the security people in Newark were great. I think I might have gotten a little testy if I had to answer to the crowds a million times as to when their favorite Idol was coming out!

good to know that i didn't miss chickeze. i still need him, cook, and ramiele to complete my tour program autographs. smile.gif

oh well i've got at least 2 more shows to try. i prob wont be sticking around after the baltimore or philly shows because i'll need to high-tail it out of there to get home.

last night was a long night for me. didn't get back to the city until 3am after running around trying to catch a damn bus. might as well have just stayed after for autographs again.

one of these days i'll get my pics and vids uploaded. i'm really slow about that... and i'm really busy with all these shows and i'm sick now so any time i can sleep is good.

Guys:
Happy that you all enjoyed the concert. I am disappointed for you that you join us who were in Newark earlier this past week who did not meet David either, BUT CHIN UP - we will all get together in the near future when DC comes out for his solo tour.

Take care

I had an AWESOME seat. Floor section to the left of the stage, and I was literally right next to the projected section of the stage. I was so close he could have sweat on me. I was absolutely THRILLED when I walked in and said "where is row 7" and the security guy pointed to where I was going. WOOHOO! I got video of Billie Jean that I think turned out great, BUT it's over 600 mb. LOL Not much I can do with that! I got some good pics, not great because of the lighting, everything looks grainy. I also videotaped the Mavid moment which was incredibly cute, but again, huge file. I think 98 MB. I'll try to post a picture in here.

Crap, I have no idea how to put a picture in here. If you hit insert image, it wants a URL and it's not on the net, it's on my computer. Help?

How can they fly out for the TCAs since they are tomorrow night (Aug 4th) when they have a concert in Long Island? Would it be taped early in the day with both guys flying back for the concert? Wow - those would be two very tired guys.

To Xtremely Cookiefied: I know how to do it on other sites, but I've had no luck here. haven't even found where to place the url. But bottom line - you need to load your pix to a site like Photobucket.com, then copy the IMG link and paste it in your post. I just haven't found where the link is to insert the image.

sheriaz627 - DC and DA flew out to LA this morning (Sunday - the tour is off today) - for the taping of the Teen Choice Awards - the taping takes place today at some point - the actual airing of the awards is tomorrow Monday - 8/4.

After the taping is completed DC and DA will fly back to NY (probably late, late tonight) and will join the other iDOLS for Long Island - Monday and Tuesday.

Hope that helps,
Annette

Also, the icons to insert a hyperlink or an image are under the "fonts" choice in your reply or edit box.

thanks, Annette. Now that makes sense, just hadn't seen anything about it being taped today. As a matter of fact I thought it was on tonight, then when I couldn't find it, searched and found it on tomorrow night. Just don't want to miss David. thanks again.

That's right. You were the one 7 rows in front of me. You were right at the stage and I was kind of 3 rows off of the corner but same section Row 14. Seat 14. Was that no the most awesome performance ever. The poor kid in front of me wont be able to hear right for a long time to come. It was the little guy with the glasses that played the air guitar in the kid competition. Absolutely adorable kid and he just could not get over how loud we all were. I actually started covering his ears when I screamed. He thought it was hysterical. It was his first concert ever and this kid was completely floored by the noise when Cook hit the stage. I absolutely love that guy. Such an amazing performer. No Words. I wish we could have met him before or afterward but there will be other concerts. Other tours where it is just him or him and a couple of other acts and I will eventually get to meet him. Till then, that was an amazing set. I cant help you with the photo or video but try to post on you tube or something so that we can all see it. Your video is basically what my view was and I would have done anything to be able to video it. I was completely caught up in that set and would love to be able to look back on it . You just cant remember everything. Sensory overload.

angry.gif Hello! I was one of David's fans that waited all day for the idols and they never came out.
Even worse is that no one gave us any answers as to what was happening until 4:00.
Of course my friend and I were really really disapointed. We could not beleive this happen,
partly because of the great way that the Hall had the greeting set up. There was a line for autographs,
and they were great spots that were set up to take pictures.
My friend and I had great spots in each place. It was really a let down not to see the idols up close.
I know that both David's flew to California. I hope the rest of the idols have left New Jersey over
the weekend, and do not get stuck in traffic again. I don't think they are used to New York and
New Jersey Traffic. They most likely left New York a little late and then hit bad traffic. I hope
they don't repeat this. I don't think so.

I think they will make an extra effort to come out to see us in Long Island after what happened on
Saturday. Thank God I have tickets for that concert too.

I was interviewed by the local chanel in Atlantic City. I talked about the Cougers and David Cook,
and showed a great photo of him.
They were interviewing a lot of young girls that were talking about David A, and I told them how
about talking to some of us over 40 about David Cook and they interviewed me.
I am trying to find the station and maybe the interview. They said they were a local channel and they
were I beleive News 40. If anyone can find out any information please let me know.

I wish everyone including me luck on meeting David at Nassau.
David's Belle
Hi everyone, so I was right there with you, to say this didn't go the way I planned is an understatement, I stood in the hot blazing sun for three hours for nothing, no idols, I had tickets to the meet and greet, so I did get to met DC, spoke to him, got his autograph and pics of him, they weren't allowed to take pic with us, but they were so behind schedule it was very rushed, I had less than a minute with David, but I am grateful for that, The show itself blew me away, Michael and Carly got voted off way before their time, David Cook is a God, I have been saying this all along, but saturday night solidified it, That man was born to be on a stage, He worked the crowd, he sounds amazing and he seemed to be having The time if his life, but nothing prepared me for BILLIE JEAN, I think I had an out of body experience, it was NIRVANA, I have been to 100s of concerts in my life time, that performance by far was the most, erotic, sensual and intense thing I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing on a stage, it was like he made love to the microphone and audience, after the show I didn't have it in me to wait for the buses, and now I thank God I didn't, if I had waited again for nothing my head might have actually exploded. All in all it was a great day, I met lots of cool people, while waiting for pre-show signings, I got his autograph and I saw the most breathtaking artist I have ever seen, yes a great day indeed, until we read again.......Belle P.S. anyone have the link for the MAVID moment?

the weekend, and do not get stuck in traffic again.

I had posted this in another link. Is this what you were looking for?

It's a video interview of both the fans on the Boardwalk and some of the Idols in A.C. by NBC40. I think they may have edited out the portion about the Cougars, but you may still be in there.

You'll have to scroll down and click on the American Idol Live! Tour Comes to A.C. link in the "Latest Videos" box and then wait for that blasted 15-second commercial to finish, but it's worth it. Hope this helps.

I actually have no memory of IDWTMAT. I remember the beginning, and then it's like...a big blank space in my brain. *sigh* I'm still an emotional basketcase over this whole show...before and after. sad.gif

You know, this is how I feel about his whole set. It was so unreal. I was trying to focus on the fact that it was actually HIM up there. I was trying to make myself feel that or something. It kinda felt like I was watching him on youtube. Maybe I shouldn't have watched so many videos beforehand! I think I will maybe not do that so much for the solo tour. But it's SO temptimg!

So I think I missed most of it. Well at least I don't remember a lot of it. It's strange.

And I feel for you with the emotional basketcase thing. Well, you know I do. sad.gif

Plus I heard that David came out before AND after the concert last night. Makes me want to cry. sad.gif

David's Belle - So glad that you enjoyed the concert and you were able to have a minute with David - that is really an extra bonus.

The Mavid vid is here on the board in this thread: http://www.david-cook.org/8-2-ATLANTIC-CIT...ALL-t11576.html

Hello! After waiting in line for 5 hours in Atlantic City, My dream came true at Long Island. When I figure out how to put up pictures, I will put them up here. I just want everyone that was Atlantic City to know that the idols were very upset about not being able to come out.
Brooke told me that they wouldn't let them come out. I also talked to Kristy and David C. about it and they both said that they were
very upset.

David really is the sweatest man, and of course not to mention absolutely beautiful. I asked him to take his sun glasses off and i almost
died. I gave him a note and a hat. the note explained that my husbands friend has a little 9 year old girl that has brain cancer and not
longer can walk. I asked him is he would put the hat to take a picture to show her mother and of course for me. He stuck it on top of his
other hat and gave her thumbs. He also signed something to her and wrote "you are my hero". I have pictures of this. Later on tonight I will try to put them up. I also got a guitar her guitar signed by David and a Analog heart CD signed.
Beleive it or not, a fan that was on line at the Atlantic City Concert with us gave my friend the Analog CD. Wasn't that sweet. I hope
she checks this site. I would like to say thank you so much!

I just want everyone to know how much the idol really appreciate their fans. They kept on talking about that in Long Island. Brooke said
that they were actually nervous wrecks because they could not get out to us, and then to top it off both Davids had to leave to take a
plane. Please look for the great pictures and videos that I will be posting.
David is beautiful inside and out.

angry.gif Hello!

Hi, DCfffffffan!

So glad you were able to find yourself and your friend in that video clip. (You're so very welcome!)

Thank you so much for the great details on how the Idols really want to meet their fans, but it's not always in their control.

Your story brought tears to my eyes. I was so happy that you were able to finally meet and spend some time with Cookie, but the icing on the cake was the picture of David wearing the autographed cap for the little girl with brain cancer. Then reality sets in, once again, that there's this little 9-year-old girl who has brain cancer, and it gets to be so emotionally overwhelming. sad.gif

I look forward to seeing your other pictures.
