hey girl! i'll be going to this show too. i forget if we discussed this already. i can't wait.
velvetsun
Ok...so it's still a month away (sigh) but any ideas on where you guys would like to meet up??? and at what time? Help a girl out here...at this point, i feel like the show is never going to get here....and i need something to cheer me up. like making plans to go on David recon! smile.gif
Stefanie
I live in brooklyn,ny. Can I have any suggestion what time I should leave so I can meet the idols b4 the show and what should we do after the show?
cookiefiedforlife
There are 3 shows in NJ, 2 in Newark and 1 in AC. People that lives in the NY area can just cross the river to Newark. I live somewhere in the middle and I could not decide yet where to go. But then AC has more perks and a lot more fun than Newark.
Stefanie
I have to talk to my dad because he is coming with me. I know we are going to leave very very early. we better lol
xXChuckXxSP
Okay so I'm also going to the AC show (hah, AC...) and my dad got us seats in the nosebleed section, haha.
So I saw this question asked somewhere but I never saw an answer... Does anyone know if they allow still cameras in the Boardwalk Hall?
I read on their website that the strongly prohibit any video/audio recording, but they say that still cameras may be used for certain events. I emailed some lady (the Director of Events, I believe) and asked her this but she never got back to me. dry.gif
Does anyone know? unsure.gif

If i remember correctly, my friend who went to see Josh Groban there said that still cameras are usually ok, as long as you leave the flash off.

Also...i'm beginning to think i'm going to have to get to BH at like 4am just try try and figure out where to wait to try and see them. *sigh* I'm so frustrated. I want the chance to see them all (DC especially of course), but i can't seem to get anyone to point me in the right direction...

sorry for the ramble.
Stefanie
What time is everybody going to get there to try to meet b4 the concert? If by any chance I don't meet them b4 the concert, i have to meet them after the concert.

I am fairly certain I am going to this show, I live 20 minutes from AC, Boardwalk Hall is between Georgia and Mississippi Ave I believe but we should all meet up on the Boardwalk in front of the hall, there is no way to miss it that way and I am sure we will be able to tell who the DC fans, we are slightly obsessed with this man I think it will show that extra twinkle in our eyes LOL.... so until we read again.......

I was wondering if anybody ever went to the boardwalk hall b4 for the american idol tour?

What time should we be there to meet them b4 hand?

I went here last year and I had no problem getting my camera in. They weren't very strict.

Do they allow flash or do you have to keep the flash off?
velvetsun
Ok, how does this sound...

Meet up on the boardwalk in front of BH - 11am?

I definitely think if we are going to try and meet them, we need to be there early. Also, take into consideration that it will be a Saturday, and the Boardwalk/AC will be crowded to begin with.

Let me know what you guys think. Also...feel free to PM me with any comments or info smile.gif
We need to make this happen people...we NEED to meet him biggrin.gif

PNPforcook
What do you guys think the time line will be from Newark to AC with an off day in between and also an off day before playing in Long Island?

You think they will stay in Newark in a hotel or on the buses on Thursday night and possibly even go into Manhattan on Friday?

Go to AC to have fun in a more relaxing enviro Friday night?

Not go to AC until Saturday morning?

Think they will stay in AC Saturday night?

All speculation of course but wondering if anyone might have any insight based on past yrs tours or any inside info.

That sounds like a rockin' plan! Count me in! I was in AC a couple of days ago. I tried to do some digging, but the girl working at the box office was not helpful when it came to supplying the info. However, the nice lady working in the welcome center mentioned something about the bus pulling into "West Hall". I have no idea where this is, or if this is even true. Just thought I would put the word out there. Anyway, see y'all at 11 bright and early!

Well, pretty much everyone i've spoken to about this, seems to think our best bet is to wait down by the parking garage. I plan on going down to the Hall sometime next week to do a bit of recon, so we shall see what i come up with LOL I have no clue as to how many of us from here will be at this show, and was thinking maybe to be safe some of us could wait up front, and some of us could wait by the garage, and then when one of the groups see any sign of them, we could text/call the other. smile.gif Not that i've thought much about all this or anything. *cough*

Hey DC fans, I have 2 tickets to the Atlantic City show. Unfortunately I can't go see the glorious David Cook because of a wedding that night that I must attend. The seats are awesome. Section 4 on the Floor, aisle seats. 2 available. Email me at clover626@aol.com if you are interested.

Is there anyway we could exchange cell numbers, so we are able to text back and forth on the BIG day?

Hi guys,
I'll be going to the concert on August 2nd as well. If you guys have a place where you will be meeting I'd love to be able to meet up with everyone. Really hoping to get to meet David and get an autograph. I decided to take the day off work so that I could get there nice and early. The 11:00 time frame sounds cool. Are we supposed to wear a certain color or something as DC supporters. I'm in Section 1 row 14, anyone anywhere near me as far as seats. I know a few of you guys are on the other side in section 3. Anyway. I can not wait for August 2nd.

Sorry I've been MIA from this thread...kinda forgot to check it. smile.gif

I'm SO jealous of you with good seats. Waaaaah! sad.gif Can I come visit you when I go to the restroom? LOL. Oh wait, that's right, who the heck would go to the restroom during DC? And I don't need to have good seats for the others!

Anyway, this sounds great. And I like the idea or people looking out for each other and calling on cell phones....sort of like spies! LOL

I do plan on getting there at 11 or 11:30. Problem is I will also have 5 other people with me (my friend and 4 kids). So I don't know if I will be able to meet and hang out or not. SO, if I'm not at the meeting place, not to worry, I will then meet you down at the parking garage.

Oh and you're all wearing red, right? You will see me in probably a red short sleeved shirt, and I will have that certain DC sparkle in my eye. Either that, or I'll have a glazed look on my face, or if he's in the vicinity I will be the one that's passed out on the pavement.

So I should be easy to spot. cool.gif

You can come visit me any time. I dont intend to go to the basthroom at all during this concert. Dont want to lose my spot. So I take it were wearing red. I have no idea of what red to wear but I guess that is the color? I am betting just way to excited about this concert.
Did you guys hear about the back bend injury. Evidently he hurt his knee last night and may not be able to perform that stunt again soon. Mabe he'll feel better by August 2nd. I hope so. Hope he feels better anyway. Knee injuries suck. I've had more than my share of them over the years. 2 acl replacemets on right knee and one on the left. Very bad knees. And here I was marveling at that amazing flexibility. Here hoping he feels better.

StitchMeUp
I know, I was hoping he'd be doing the backbend in AC. God, that is so hot.

There are about a dozen of us from the new word nerd home going to the AC show. We're all staying over Friday and Saturday night in the city. Hopefully someone from either our group or yours will figure out where the best place is to wait for the idols to come out before and after the show. I guess we can all just look for large groups of really excited people dressed in red hanging around the building at noon on Saturday.

I think we've all pretty much settled on meeting around 11am in front of BH. Then heading over to wait by the parking garage. I think that's the best place to attempt to meet them before and after the show. I think we'll have a LOT better luck in meeting them before the show.

i'm sure it'll be easy enough to spot all the Cook fans. It'll be a massive sea of red. biggrin.gif

God, it's 17 days away. It's really starting to hit me that I'm going to be seeing him in a little over 2 weeks. If i get the chance to meet him, and speak to him even for just a few moments...oh my God. I will be beside myself. Thankfully, i will have emotional support with me at the show. wink.gif

I'm in section 122 row B. The way they have the seating arranged by the stage is confusing as hell. I emailed someone from BH and asked him to explain EXACTLY where my seat was, and he told me i had a "killer view". We'll see. I have a friend who's going to see Elton John there this week, and she's supposed to go and check it out for me LOL. But as long as i can see, and take decent pictures, i'll be happy. Oh, and we could always visit each other during intermission. smile.gif

From everything I'm hearing about that knee I doubt that He'll be able to. I've had lots of knee injuries and they are absolutely no fun. Acl replaced twice on right knee and once on left. Mine was torn though, not just sprained. So mabe He'll be feeling better in the next coupls of weeks. I certainly hope so. THey may not let him do that stunt anymore anyway with the possibilities of reinjury being high. He's got a long tour ahead and he could injur it worse. It was great to see when he could do it though. Outrageous.
So what is everybody wearing to this concert. I think I know now but still unsure. I cant believe how stressful all of this is. I have never put this much thought into one concert before. I've now been referred to as a
Cook-addict. I thought it was hysterical at first then realized that I really have gone overboard with all of this. Oh well if you need to have addictions I cant think of a better one to have.
Will not be seeking treatment.
StitchMeUp
I'm going to go out and get a nice red short sleeved top. Not a t-shirt, but not fancy. Ya know? And then probably capris I would think? I guess depending on the weather. If it is really stinking hot I will definitely be in shorts, probably jeans shorts and flip flops.

HOORAY for the emotional support! biggrin.gif

I still can't believe it's all working out. I am OVER THE MOON! wub.gif

I know what you mean about not being able to speak. I was watching the footage where he was throwing the football around with MJ and I would love to just be able to stand there and watch. Autographs are great to but to be able to be that close and just watch him is awesome. These were really lucky people. I dont think I'd be able to speak let alone scream like these other fans are doing. ANyway, getting way to excited about this. I cant image how ballistic I'm gonna be the week of the show. Thank God I took off that day, I would have been useless anyway. It is horrible when a woman fast approaching 40 acts like a 17 year old.
I am so hoping that at some point we get to hear him do an acoustic set. I was listening to the walmart shareholders concert yesterday and although I love the backbending rocking out cookie. I think that this guy on acoustic guitar is just mesmerizingly beautiful. He has such an amazing voice. I wish they had recorded time of my life acoustic. That would have probably done even better than it already has. I can just see him doing a whole show sitting on a stool with his guitar and melting us with every song. Not to mention the hysterical banter in between songs. I love how he interacts with the audience. Anyway, enough daydreaming for one morning. Hi Ho Hi Ho off to work I go. Reality sucks.

Hi all I haven't been here in a couple days, looks like the are quite a few of us going to the AC show, YEAH, Its nice to know I am not alone in my crazy DC obsession, I can use all the emotional support I can get, and as a woman who approached 40 last year, I still can't fathom the insane school girl crush I have on david, have not been like this since I was 12 yrs, AH youth, can't wait to meet everyone......until we read again.....

Ok that awesome acoustic set that I was hoping for. I cant believe my luck but I pretty much found it. Someone was wonderful enough to post a link to the taste for a cure performane. It is 15 minutes of pure unadulterated acoustic cook and it is fantastic. It is in all three taste for a cure thread and I have watched it like 10 times so far today. I'd just attach it here but I am a bit computer illiterate and dont know how. Sorry guys. I had seen the performance in bits and pieces but this site has the whole thing all together. I swear if I'd known that he was playing anywhere 6 months ago I definitely would have been there to here him. He definitely was not telling the right people where and when he was going to be playing. I dont think they would fit us all into that bar at this point.
Anyway, cant wait to see everyone on August 2nd. THis is going to be a lot of fun.

Well, I am 40 and also acting like a teen...I have never been this excited or nervous about a concert in my entire life, and I've been to a lot of concerts! I just think that I'm thinking about it so much and all that when it comes I am going to be a nervous wreck. I want to meet him SO BAD, and I don't think I will act all fangirly, definitely won't scream (I don't think so anyway!), but I can imagine a tear squeaking out of my eye if I do get face to face with him. Yay, another person my age! It's so nice to know we aren't alone, isn't it? If it wasn't for this forum I would be thinking I was so abnormal and immature. I am still careful about who I tell in real life (and even with the few people I have chosen to tell, I don't think any of them really realize the extent of this HUGE crush I have). So to come on here and read other's thoughts about how they feel and find out there are people exactly like me, well, it's so great.

Are there still Philly tickets out there? Oh boy, that was the wrong thing for me to hear. My fiance would definitely shoot me if I were to go to this one as well. Mabe I would get the higher seats and take my son with me. What are Philly's dates, I forget. I dont think I'd be able to swing it though. Lots of extra bills this month and going once is about all I could justify. Have you guys been over to the photos thread lately. Under the puppy thread someone was mentioning that David wanted to get a great dane. Which is cool, beautiful dogs. THen they posted that he would be naming it quagmire. I'm confused as to why anyone would name their dog after mud or quicksand. Like I dont watch the family guy enough. Son and fiance watch this show constantly. Glen Quagmire, the sex obsessed weirdo. Yep, I think hubby would be mad about spending the money. I know there are seats left but in the nosebleed section. I really wish I had lots of money, I would probably be able to find some good floor seats on eBay or something!

I'm not sure if I'm coming to the show or not but I'm considering coming early in the day to hopefully meet him outside at the buses. I'm not completely sure about my plans at this point.

Anyway it's getting closer...

If I don't meet him in Atlantic City I already asked my mom if she would go to the Philly concert with me. OMG my husband would LOVE that....$70 more on concert tix!!

LOL...yes, that is the main reason i'm going to the Philly show as well. To give myself a second chance to meet David. *sigh*
I can't believe the show is getting so close.

But I hope I can keep my composure!

Oh and Gentry, I know what you mean, I totally love acoustic Dave as well!

Hello! I am another person your age, and I will be going to the show. I am hoping to meet up with everyone. I have purchased
a hat for David and I plan to put a note on it about a little girl with brain cancer, hoping that maybe he will wear it and the little girls
mother can see the pictures or the video's. I was also thinking of writing him a note on the hat asking him if he had any ideas how
to raise some money for this family. The little girl is 9 years old and she can no longer walk and the tumor is still growing. With all this in
mind, I really want to be able to see David. Of course, I also want to see him for myself. I hope we can find the idols that day. Please let me
know about any new information. Thanks a lot!
