So, my life's work at this moment is finding a way to get backstage at the Rosemont show. I don't know how I am going to pull it off, but I believe that when there is a will there is a way. I have a friend from HS in the music biz in LA, maybe it's time to drop him a note....

Sure! I am going to try to get really good seats also. I've sent out an email to my entire address book looking for a connection to get backstage. I just saw the post about meeting the buses before the shows. I am kind of a crazy girl and am willing to do (just about) anything to get those passes!
OMG, let me know if you find anything out about backstage. I totally want to go to Rosemont. Thanks!

Does this work???? I can harass people!
They usually give tickets/passes away before the event with their radio contests....if that doesn't work then harassing/stalking may be in order

I REALLY want to go! I'm begging my best friend for like a week to go with me, but she has to see if she has money, i said i would borrow her money, just go with me!
I honestly don't care to watch any of the other performers, especially Archy. He's a little teeny bopper who hasn't hit puberty yet....I will probably head to the bar when he's performing. Then maybe try to lure my way towards backstage and kiss some *** to the security....probably won't work but it's worth a shot! haha

so does anybody have any ideas of how they will harass their way to backstage???

May 7 2008, 09:24 PM
I am hoping not to have to do any harassing. I sent out an email to my whole address book asking if anyone has any connections. I have to think I can't be more then 2 degrees of separation from getting backstage. And I am so about the bar during the other's performances, especially Archie's- snore! I'm not even an AI fan (sorry AI fans!), purely a DC fan.

I was just reading on a previous board that if you show up before the show, you can ask the Idols for backstage passes. They have a limited supply for each person. Might be worth a try.

I have heard that you need passes for the meet and greet thing everyone is talking about. I tried e-mailing 93.9 WLIT and they said they had nothing for the Idol tour at the moment and weren't sure if they were going to get anything! =( This is my obsession right now too! I am only 16, so there is a limited amount of people I can contact!! I will let you all know if I get anywhere though!!! I might try e-mailing more radio stations.... Its too bad that I don't know anyone in the music business or who works for poptarts! My friend and I went last year and we saw this mom just give these three girls backstage passes. They were standing there after the concert and the mom said, "we're leaving now so you guys can just have these!" How unbelievably lucky were those people? Maybe we all will have the same luck! =) LOL Meeting David Cook would complete my life!

I ended up just getting a seat from Ticketmaster. Gotta save my money!!! Seat location: section 104, row D, seat 19
Where is everyone else sitting?
Am I too old to troll around the tour buses? I'm 26!! I know a few people in the music industry... but no one that has AI connections!!! Grrr!

Slightly off topic..but a friend showed me yesterday that ticketmaster wasn't pulling up any new seats, so I looked into it today..
The show is not sold out, but there are no 2 empty seats next to each other, and the best seat in the house available at the moment is in section 210, row g.
That's pretty crazy! It's gonna be a full house..

I have seen 2 different seating charts for the Allstate arena. Does anyone know which one is right? I have seats in section 3 row 15. Depending on which chart you look at they are either really good, or not so good.

I just bought my tickets for Rosemont! Section 111. I hope the seats are good. But seeing David alone was well worth the price tag! Though I am very excited to see other favorites (David A., Carly, Michael, Brooke). I can't wait! I debated long and hard whether to buy or not, keep telling myself to wait till he's on his own and the concert is all him, but I just can't wait that long! DCook rocks!
ETA: Here's the link where I got mine. Not bad prices compared to others:

Okay. I'm so excited I feel like the show is tomorrow!! Anyone around my age that lives in the city want to meet up? I'm 26. I figured we could band together at the buses and try to figure out a way into the meet and greet and also of course take photos of each other w/ our favorite Idols (or just David C.)!
Hopefully this goes over a bit better than my "Tribute to Analog Heart" request. That's another thing, what are you all planning on bringing to DC? I'm bringing him a cd with me covering a few songs from AH... hopefully I can get some of you to do some tracks too?! That would be awesome.

Thanks for the link to your ticket site. That seating chart makes me feel better about my seats. I am in Sec 3 - row 15. I did see another show there recently and there really are no bad seats. It is a pretty small arena, so I think so long as you are not all the way in the back in the last row, your seats will be good. The seating chart on Ticketmaster looks different so I was freaked out.

I saw a question about cameras on another thread. Anyone know Allstate's policy? When I saw Matchbox 20 at the Sears Centre, everyone had a camera..but me. So, anyone know?
Stacey81
Jun 4 2008, 05:48 AM
On the Ticketmaster website it says this on the Allstate Arena page:
General Rules:
Cameras and recording devices are never allowed at concerts. The Allstate Arena will check at the door. **This is a non-smoking facility.**
So, here's a tip: If you are a girl (or going with one), buy a box of tampons and open it carefully (not with the rip off tab). Take out enough tampons so your camera will fit, put your camera in and then glue the box shut. Generally they don't check your bags that well, but worst-case scenario is that you'll have to go back to your car and leave your camera. But I'm pretty sure that you'll be fine. Most people get weird about tampons and immediately stop checking your bag as soon as they see the box.
Hope this helps!

In the past, the meet and greets were run by Pop Tarts. If you got to the venue early enough, you could get in line. But it's not easy to do. And there are contests, too. Good luck in finding out. It's going to be a big crowd for Cookie!

I am seriously depressed. My husband literally hates David Cook and is very jealous of his talent and my interest in him -- he thinks Cook is a threat! How ridiculous is that? I'm not THAT hot (by LA standards anyway), and I work in a completely different industry, and even if I did live in LA, it's not like I'd ever meet David! I can only surf this website at work (but I am constantly busy) and while hubby's still sleeping in the morning, or at night. He's so awful to me when he catches me watching videos or viewing photos. Sometimes I really feel like crying, but especially now...
I am prepared to pay any amount for Floor 1 seats and/or backstage pass, but he will not even conceive of allowing me to attend the concert, much less meet Cook. It doesn't matter that I've enjoyed almost all the Idols this year; as long as Cook is there, I cannot attend. I can't even listen to his music in the same room as my hubby.
I suppose I will be with all of you in spirit. I cannot lie to my husband and attend the concert in secret.
*sigh* I'm sorry. I should have made a thread somewhere else...I don't want to hijack this thread. I just want you all to know that I wish I could be there with you.

Hi Andrea,
I can TOTALLY relate to this. My boyfriend (whom I live with) is seriously jealous of David and always wants to know why I'm watching "the winner" (as he calls him) all the time. The difference is that I do not allow him to control me (or to see that I'm watching DC on YouTube every free chance I get). I'm not sure if he's completely serious about how it's starting to bother him... but I don't care either way. Obviously none of this means anything, I am a FAN! (short for fanatic) Clearly nothing is going to happen between David Cook and I (except some hand shaking, picture taking and a possible hug/kiss on the cheek OH PLEASE GOD). But this actually sounds pretty serious if your husband is not going to allow you to go to a concert. This almost sounds like battered wife syndrome and that kind of worries me. I don't think that this is funny at all (please PM me if you'd like to talk for real). You need to stand up for yourself and go see the Idols show!

Girlfriend, I feel your pain! My hubby isn't happy that I like David, and also sees him as a legitimate threat to our relationship. I think he's being silly, and he turns it around and says, "How would you feel if I told you I wanted to f*** Jessica Alba's brains out?"
First of all, I don't want to f*** David. I love his music, he's easy on the eyes (at the very least!), and at most, I would love to meet him for a photo/autograph/chance to thank him for being him. Second, I know hubby doesn't really want to f*** Jessica Alba. He just likes her shape and thinks she's nice to look at. If I found him looking at her pics online or whatever, I wouldn't mind. Hubby, OTOH, gets quite annoyed when I come here, watch David's videos, etc. He says that I'm cheating on him. *rolls eyes* Whatever. If I'm a cheater, so is he, if he's looking at Jessica Alba's pics and watching her movies.
I myself won't be attending the show, because we just have too many things we need to take care of. If we had the cash, would he let me go? Probably not. But I'll make peace with that, because as much as I love David, I love my husband infinitely more, jealous streak and all. *clutches iPod, which has bunches of David's videos and MP3s on it*
So to you lucky ladies (and guys) going to the shows this summer, have fun, and send David some love for me!
