I am SUCH a worry wart about this stuff lately (why is it that on this board I say corny things like "worry wart" which I would NEVER say in real life?!). Thanks Jul! We'll take a couple of test shots before the mayhem ensues. I just hope you don't get performance anxiety!

I kinda want to ask him to kiss me on the cheek like that girl did in LA (I think?). Hmm... I am starting to wonder just how many people will be waiting outside at this show. It seems like the crowds are getting bigger and bigger as the tour goes on.
LOL, I don't think I'll get any performance anxiety.
As someone below this says, I'd agree that I think it's crazier AFTER than before..so I think in the afternoon we might be good. I WILL get my pic with Cookie..whatever it takes!

Thanks Stacey. Maybe not so many people in afternoon -- more after the show? Sounds like you've been there before for an Idol tour in afternoon, how'd that work out, in terms of where security made y'all stand?
I don't have a feel for how many actual Chgo-area wordnerds (i mean the 'official' nerds) there might be. But I'll bet not that many. What, maybe, less than 25 who'd be rabid enough to show up that early? (Of course then there are the Archies, the Dreadheads -- it could be a crowd, but they won't all be DC's people.)
I've only done it last year where I went in the afternoon, but I honestly don't remember any security. Granted, no Idols came out..but yeah, we just stood by the barracade (which is NOT that tall

) and waited..and waited.

I talked to a lady there, now she was just the operator so this isnt official, but she said that from what she
knows they are pretty lenient about hanging out and stuff as long as everyone is orderly and behaves
themselves--which I would think the American Idol and David Cook fans would do.

We're a nice bunch!!
We've got class!!

Hey Stacey,
So how high is the barricade? Who's a good jumper or climber?

Yay! That's awesome, even if it isn't official.

We definitely behave orderly, hehe.
OMG that barricade is NOT high at all.

Stop freakin out everyone..

I'm not 100% sure since I've not waited outside, but when driving past on 90 it looked as if they were maybe a foot over waist high? I was far away (I-90!!) so my perception might be off.
Let's just say that you can lean on them comfortably..and you can probably lean ACROSS them comfortably to take pictures.

To clear up the baracade issue, here is a picture of my friend Donna and Gina's mom from last year.. hopefully she won't mind me posting it here. Just don't share.
