Mkay, I called the Verizon Center today and spoke with someone in the box office. She seemed to think they would be at the main enterance...I'm not so sure I believe her...I wouldn't be opposed to someone calling and verifying that

You will be absolutely safe in that neighborhood on an event night. THere are literally police and community service people on every corner to give you directions and tell you were stuff is. The little community service people are in red jackets and they are there to help.
Now with that said. I parked once closer to the mall on a concert night and walked up to the venue and my car got the window busted out and all my christmas gifts stacked in the back stolen. But that was dumb on my part to have them showing in an area not covered by as many police. You will be absolutely fine.

So who else is bus stalking? The Verizon Center has underground parking, so any ideas on where to go to get a good shot at meeting them? I know sometimes they set up barriers/tape outside, sometimes inside. I'm not familiar at all with the Verizon Center.

I had heard the 6th St. side of the arena, but I will try to call Verizon Center tomorrow and see if I can find something out!

I am so excited! And kinda terrified that I might faint watching David sing Billie Jean live...lol

I'm sure most of you have heard that David and MJ were told no more Mavid dances. (see: http://www.david-cook.org/index.php?showtopic=12162&hl=)

Instead of writing RCA and 19, who most likely don't have anything to do with this decision, some fans are planning on re-enacting Mavid dances during the show- possibly while David films the crowd, and definately during PDSTM. Signs saying "please don't stop the brodance" as well as a Mavid dance chant are also amazing ideas.

Instead of walking out during PDSTM, let's bring a smile the David and MJ's face by showing them just how much we do support and love them. Maybe we could figure out who's doing what beforehand and have a whole slew of dances going on in the aisles.

If I can come up with good pictures of the Mavid dance, I'm making a sign that says "Please Don't Stop the Mavid Dance!" I doubt anyone will be able to see me dancing up where my seat is.

OK, fellow Cookie fans...so is anyone meeting at any specific restaurant early on Thursday? There was talk of the Greene Turtle? Someone mentioned they were going to call and see if we could get a back room or something to hang out in? I guess if we buy something and eat/drink it rrrrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaallllll slow we could hang out there for hours?
My friend just bailed on my for the stalking! She'll meet me around 5 for dinner before the show So I'm going to need some folks to 'talk David' with! Let me know if there is an orchestrated plan for meeting up.

I just e-mailed someone who said they were going to the Baltimore show on Tuesday. I am curious to know if she finds out if the Idols leave on the buses right away to come to D.C. (and maybe spend Wed. sight-seeing in the nation's capital.) If so, we need to find out what hotel they are staying at. (other stalking possibility, LOL!)

3 more days!!! Wow! I can't believe it. I come home from New York today to read about the "banning" of the Mavid dance. That is very sad!! I'm all for dancing like a fool during PDSTM.. I have an aisle seat near the front so maybe I'll get seen. If the dances don't resurface by Thursday, I will be dancing my heart out!

Just a quick update. Jess and I are talking about the banner and I did some research on pricing. Kinko's charges over $120 to print an actual banner and posters range from $30-60. So, here is what I am thinking...

I think I have some white butcher paper at home. If I do, I may actually paint the banner instead of getting it printed. I am a pretty good painter, so I hopefully can get the photo to look close to the actual design.

I'm usually just a lurker on these boards but I just had to post to say that I am very excited about the concert and I am a big DC fan too. My husband and I are going to the concert on Thursday and we are sitting in section 111 row P.

I wish we could join all of you at the Green Turtle but I have to work until 4:45 in Alexandria and then we are taking the Metro over. We probably won't be nearby until around 5:30. I am SO sad because I probably won't be able to meet DC or any of the other idols. Is there any hope of meeting any of them afterwards? Does anyone know? Are any of you planning to try to meet them afterwards?

Glad to read all of your posts though as the time grows closer!!

If any of you are sitting close by send a message so I can meet some other DC fans. How late are all of you going to be at the Green Turtle do you think?

In the past, the buses have pulled in around noon, and they haven't come out until about two. I think if we're there at 11, we should be good. We'll just make friends with the security people and get the inside scoop

i think you can meet them after too. at least on wordnerds home i've seen pics of people meeting them after, and on the facebook groups i'm in. i'm going to try BOTH!!! and i'm in a hotel that's about 2 minutes from verizon so i can hang out all day! even after meeting them (fingers AND toes crossed) i might head over for a drink at the turtle! come one, come all!

One last update before I Get on plane for DC.

We'll set up "shop" at Green Turtle. But we should get our space at bus location by 11:30 am. And whoever wants to go out and save spaces can, and we'll just have to monitor when the idols are coming. and then afte we meet them, we can go back into green turtle.

We'll have to be loosy goosy... but it will all work out.

So I've been channel-surfing all the radio stations and I haven't hear ANY station that is giving away Idol tickets, Meet & Greet or After-Party tickets. What's the deal!!!???

I was trying to sell them, but I decided on a different tactic.

After seeing those beautiful pictures and amazing videos from Baltimore, I am officially sqeeeeeeeeee'ing in my seat right now. I'm so psyched for tomorrow! We're leaving Lynchburg around 5 tonight to drive up to our hotel and I'm going out right now to buy another memory card and tons of batteries. I'm slated to be a cellcaster for Rickey, I'm supposed to call him in the morning to get my "assignment" (I told him anyone but DC unless the Rickey TV viewers want to hear incessant fangirl screams.)
