Has anyone ever met the idols at this venue before? I haven't had any luck.

AAAAAAAEEEEEEEEAAAAAAEEEEEE!!!

I didn't have luck when I waited after the show for Season 5. The buses pull into an underground garage that opens right onto the street so I imagine keeping order would be difficult. I thought we had a chance because there were police and barriers set up. This isn't to say that it can't or won't be done; that was just my experience.
Suze109
My daughter and I will be there! Hate to wish the summer away but we can't wait!!! smile.gif

Where is everyone sitting? I'm psyched ... our seats are in section 113, right next to the stage! Sat there for the AI tour for season 5 and it was AWESOME!

Yeah I'm with ya on this one. Where are the buses anyway? The soul reason I'm going to this concert is for David, and for those of you who haven't been to an Idol concert before, the winner performs last. And it's really not that big of a deal. But if I get anything at all out of this concert I NEED TO MEET DAVID. I seriously need to know where those buses are.

Okay... so call me an idiot, but I have not bought any AI tour tickets yet. The closest venue to me is DC (2 hour drive WITHOUT traffic). I thought that maybe by August I would have gotten over this obsession with David Cook, but now I'm thinking that's not going to be the case. I don't have anyone interested or able to go with me, either. So do any of you have one extra ticket for sale? I'm seeing some outrageous prices online from the ticket brokers, especially for the preferred seats.

Awww, I really wish I did have an extra ticket for you, but sadly I only purchased two ... one for me and one for my daughter.

There are still tickets available for the show on Ticketmaster, though they are 400 level ... but at least it's a ticket in the door!

I need info on the Verizon Center venue - I can get a ticket in various sections on the "Main Concourse" - sections in the 100's - without breaking the piggy bank too badly. I'm trying to determine which would be the better seat: section 121 row E, or section 110 row A. From the venue map, it appears that section 110 is the first section on the side of the stage. Would row A be the first (lowest) row in that section? Is it going to be too much of a side view? Section 121 is two sections down from 110, and I'm guessing that row E is 5th row up. It's not as close to the stage, but it's not as much as a side view of it either.

Can anyone who has been to the Verizon Center clue me in on which would probably be better?

I have been to the Verizon Center many times and would absolutely choose the seats in section 121. Section 121 is actually closer to the stage than 110, and 4 rows closer down isn't that big of a deal. And depending where your seats are in 121, you could actually be even with the front sections on the floor!

I'm across the arena in Section 113 for this tour and sat there for the AI Tour for season 5. The seats were fantastic! Section 121 would be awesome, IMO. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Suze109! The venue map you posted is much clearer than the one I was looking at. I was mistakenly seeing 119 as 110 on my map. There is ONE seat available in section 121 row E. But since I can't find anyone to go with me, I may just end up going it alone.

I'm an international fan and I'll be at the DC concert. Woohooo! I'm ridiculously excited about seeing our David live. I'm looking for a pair of main concourse/floor tickets, so if anyone has extras or knows of anyone selling theirs, please let me know. smile.gif

I am going to the Washington, DC concert as well and want to go crazy. I live in the area but don't know much about the Verizon center (except that somehow I ended up with nosebleed seats). I guess I should check again to see if there are any better ones.

In any case, I want to find out about where the buses will come in as well and what hotel they might be staying at. I'm a thirty-something, married woman but want to go crazy at the concert. It would be fun for a bunch of us to meet up.

At the Verizon Center the buses enter from the 6th Street Side of the building. But I cannot remember if the buses actually can go into the loading dock or not. But you can definately see them go in and out of the building.

I'm going up to DC 4th of July weekend, Ill go for a drive by.

Well, I wouldn't call those nosebleed ... the 400 level is the highest. And 217 is actually right above the front of the stage, so I think those might actually be pretty decent! smile.gif

Well... I GOT MY TICKET!!!! I am in section 217, row H. I couldn't find anyone who would commit to going to the show with me, so I am going alone. But I am totally psyched! I think I will be sitting up above you guys in sections 113 and 112. Maybe we can all meet up before the show.

I know I paid about double the face value of the ticket, but I couldn't stand it any longer. My BF came over yesterday and we spent 4 hours tearing apart my dryer, but we fixed it, so I don't have that expense of a new clothes dryer, so I spent the money today on my ticket! WOO-HOO!!!

LOL! Well I'm sure I'll be doing my fare share of totally acting stupid. Afterall, I'm going to be surrounded by strangers so who cares?

So does the DC crowd have a "Sport Your Support" thing going on? I have to admit I am not up on all of the details, but I'm willing to participate as much as I can. The drive to DC is about 2 1/2 hours for me (with no traffic bottlenecks). I have a month and a half to work out all the logistics - when to arrive, where to park, etc. I've never been to the Verizon Center, so any advice is much appreciated.

A couple of 40-somethings will be going crazy as well on the 14th! I'm going to have to go scope out the area around Verizon Center. I was afraid that the buses would just go under the building and that would be that. :-(
All the vids I've seen of fans meeting the Idols, there is a big parking lot for the buses. Boo hoo! If ANYONE finds out where they are staying either the night before, or how to possibly get in to meet them, or if any of the radio stations are giving "Meet & Greet" passes away, please post! Any idea how to get a gift to him in this situation?
I think I'm going to have heart failure if I don't get to give David a hug on August 14th!!!

Hi Cookie-Friends of Washington, DC !

My name is Chris, and I live in Brazil ! Sorry for any english mistakes ! unsure.gif

I need a huge favour from everyone who'll have the opportunity to meet David in Washington,DC.

I beg you to give him this message:

Tell him that: HE HAS THOUSANDS OF PASSIONATE FANS IN BRAZIL WHO ARE WAITING FOR HIM IN OUR COUNTRY IN 2009 !

I thank in advance to everyone who remembers to tell him this message !

You will be doing a HUGE favor for me and the thousands of fans who is now following the tour by your posts, videos and photos, praying and dreaming with the day we can live the same emotion your are living - see David in person, hug him, talk to him, taking photos with him, and so on ! rolleyes.gif wub.gif

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH !!!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!

Hey there - another Virginia Cookie fan here.... can't make it to the AI show either...

What kind of venues do you think he'll play for his solo tour? I actually live in Richmond and would love to see him play Toad's or the National. What Wash DC venues would you think?

Hey there, laeddie! I'm in Powhatan. I'm meeting Suze up in DC for the Idols tour... going up alone since I couldn't find anyone around here to go with me. I'm taking the day off too and making a full day of it - try to find the buses before the show, etc.

I hate to admit, but I haven't been to a concert since I've been in Virginia (about 8 years now), except for catching an act or two at Innsbrook. When DC goes on a solo tour, hopefully he'll play someplace close by. What are the best venues? I hear Wolf Trap is good, and VA Beach.
