I've decided that they have some sort of system worked out like pitchers and catchers where Dad can give Archie hand signals to let him know how to react to things. It's like a remote control. I thought that it was why Archie was so confused on the night when Ryan asked him to choose which group was safe. He was scanning the audience like he was trying to find his dad and get the hand signal. DC took pity on him and sat down.
