Full Version: I need to get off of Rickey.org...
David Cook > The Other Stuff > American Idol (General)

...before I psych myself about this week LOL

I was just reading stuff on Rickey.org to see if there was anything new going on and there was a new entry about Syesha's fanbase and a lot of the comments were saying how they think she's going to kick one of the David's off this week...and it made me a little nervous. BUT, I'm not going to let it get to me. It's been down to the David's for WEEKS now, it has to be them in the finale, it just has to LoL

They did it with Jason (sorry, I believe that's what happened) So, you never know what could happen. I don't really believe she has a fanbase as big as Cook, Archuleta and Castro - but you never know. Also, since the news of Archie's dad came out and being banned, I feel he will get pity votes as well.

Worrying about that accomplishes nothing. It is up to the contestants to perform as well as they can and for the voters to vote as hard as they can.

The Wordnerds are just going to have to turn up the heat. VOTE VOTE VOTE AND THEN VOTE SOME MORE.

We can totally do this people!
On Tuesday night people were posting that there was no way Jason's fans would let him get voted off.

This is going to be a stressful week yet again, but i believe in not only Cookie, but in the Word Nerd's ability to put him in the finale smile.gif

And i like to think the press about Archie's dad is not going to help him. Just how i want to see things i guess smile.gif

what I love about cook is that he takes the judges criticism and takes it all in like back when they didn't like "Innocent" He knocked them out of the water the next week wil mariah carey I'm assuming that because the judges were't to keen on either performance this past week this he will dominate this week.

My thoughts exactly. It's better for him to have stumbled a bit last week, then during Top 3 or the finale. He will make this Tuesday magical, i have no doubt. smile.gif

I hate Rickey.org for the most part because of stuff like that. If we let stuff like that get to us too much, it will cause us to loose our focus. I don't believe Syesha's fanbase is that big, but we need not underestimate them and assume everything will be smooth sailing. We have to vote as if we think he will be kicked off this coming Wednesday! This is the most serious vote of the entire season so far and we have to do our part and bring him to that finale!

NON STOP Voting I really just can't see him going home I don't want to see the heartbreak in his face it won't be like carly's departure where she had to lighten everyone else up at all.

I just can't see it either. It would be like the show's worst nightmare! The ratings are already in the toilet and they would go even further without him there as one of the final 2 and that's why we must make this happen! smile.gif

Let's be positive.
She can kick David A off since he won't have his daddy around

I'm doubtful she'll even make it past this she's been in the bottom i think 8 times? 9 maybe?

I seriously, seriously think that Idol NEEDS to have a David/David finale. They haven't had a male/male finale since Ruben and Clay, and when you look back on it...it was THE best finale that American Idol has had. We have not had a finale like that since then. I mean, with Ruben and Clay, NO ONE had a clue about who was going to win it all in the end. It was SO close and no one had any idea about the outcome. I think that they would get THE closest race in AI history, closer than Ruben and Clay, with a David/David finale. They need it to boost their ratings AND their credibility. I know if Syesha makes it to the finale over DC, I will not be watching it because I think it would be INSANELY boring and we would ALL know that Archie was going to beat her at the end of the night because she just doesn't have what it takes to win, in my opinion. I just won't watch it. I'll wait for David's parts to be posted on YouTube and watch those, if that would be the case...but it won't be. He's going to be in the finale.

Something that I did notice on Rickey.org is that someone said with this news coming out about Archie's dad, HE could be the shock elimination on Wednesday...I just don't see it happening though.

I don't care who is in the finale as long as he is there but if Cookie isn't there, I definitely won't be watching either and I don't think the ratings will be very good without him there either. I just can't see that happening.

i'm surprosed Syesha made it this far tbh, i thought she was gonna be gone the day MJ went home. i highly doubt that she will send one of the David's home. Rickey's just saying that bc they love her but that's all. i dont think that she's a threat to either one but nonetheless i will vote my ass off on tuesday
DavidCookLove
I agree, a David/David final will be probably the most intense...most watched show ever.

I personally cannot see David Cook losing to Archy. I mean, really, can you see Ryan name Archy winner? What's DC going to do? Pat him on the top of the head "You did good." DC is NOT losing to a 17 year old from Utah.

Think about it, DC has been in a band for most of his adult life, he's made records, he knows the business. He's well spoken and very mature on camera (..well...for a 25 year old male haha).

Archy is just inexperienced outside talent shows (i.e. Star Search)...he's got another good 5 or 6 years to make it big.

DC has to win this, he's paid his dues!

I read that too, and I've been saying for weeks that now that this was going to be the week that Archie goes home. He has been the "frontrunner" since the beginning, they've been pimping Archie since the auditions. And then along came our man, and since then they have been pimping the DC/DA final two. I never would have thought that Syesha would've been the one to pull the giant upset (I was hoping for Jason), but I'm thinking it still might happen. Melinda was the favorite all season last year and she went home this week, just shy of the finale. Huge shockers are what AI loves and lives for. But let's face it, they also know where their bread is buttered, so to speak. They know that Archie has a HUGE fan base, but they also aren't the ones who are likely to buy records and after all this is all about the "cash money" right? Archie's main fan base is teeny boppers and grandma's...hhhhmmm, that's where the money is! Ha! David's fan base stretches across all the age groups, but the vast majority of it is the oh so marketable 20-30 age range. The group most likely to put up the cash to buy the merch as well as go to the concerts. AI knows this and have thus been pimping our David as well. They also know that any finale combo that does not include DC will have a significant ratings drop I'm sure.

Does this mean that DC is a definite in the finale, HELL NO! We still need to vote our fingers off as much as possible for this to happen. After all, we're all the pawns in 19E little chess game called AI Season 7. They know we're all going to keep tuning in as long as David is still in it, and they also know we will do whatever it takes to make sure he stays. When it comes down to it, I think the Archie fans don't have what it takes to get him through this week let alone win. He has the teeny boppers, yes, but how much do the grandma's (the other majority in his fan base) actually vote? My grandmother loves him, want to know how many times she voted for him this entire season??? Um, 5 times. 5 votes, that's all. I alone get in over 300 some odd votes for DC on a weekly basis. Who knows how many its been total?!?!?

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure that DC is going to get a lot of Castro's votes and the normal voters votes. Because like we've said, David has a way of bouncing back some the performances that he didn't do as well on with something completely and totally amazing (Daytripper to Billie Jean, Innocent to Always Be My Baby), and this week will be no different. And I already know that at least 2 out of the 3 songs will be absolutely amazing. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, I'm calling it now, will be the next song to blow everyone out of the water. Simon knows this and that's why he picked for him, to challenge him and make him better. To make everyone watching sit in awe afterwards, and to get the normal voters to vote for DC and get him into the finale.

Ok, that's my opinion (long sorry). End scene. smile.gif

As much as I'd like to hope that Archie would be the shock elimination this week, I just CAN'T picture it laugh.gif I guess it's because I've pictured Archie, along with everyone else, in the finale since the VERY, very beginning. I never had a doubt in my mind that he'd be there. THAT'S why I've never been worried about him. There's one place left in the finale, and that's where we have to get DC. I, too, NEVER pictured Syesha being the last woman standing. I had her pegged to go home before the Top 6. I always thought that it would be Carly or Jason in the Top 3 with the David's. Oh well...she's there now and she's our biggest competition. I never thought I'd say that about Syesha, but it's the truth, and I'm definitely not underestimating her fanbase this week. We're going to have work REALLY hard, harder than last week, if that's possible (I'm not sure if it is, the way my arms hurt afterward LOL) because this is THE crucial, most important voting week.

It all depends on the performance.
I think thats what happened last week.
Jason didn't do well at all.
But then again there has been suprises.
Just wait nd see.
WordNerds. UNITE!!!!

I agree. No one imagined that Syesha would still be there at this point. I think most people thought Carly would be in her spot at the very least. She is the threat IMO and not Archie at this point and we can't automatically assume she will get the boot and that's why voting is so important this week with no one slacking and becoming complacent!
Katy G.
Although it's good for news, I don't like reading rickey.org because he's got a heavy bias towards Archie and sometimes Syesha when reporting stories, although he tries to appear balanced.

but no matter what, us tough cookies will get DC into the finale!
