It's really nice to know that we've got somebody like you representing the Midwest, more or less, the "Show-Me State", as well as its nice to know that you've got actual talent. It's something to be proud of.
I'm a Missouri native myself, born and raised in Kirkwood, Missouri. I must admit that you've had me from the beginning. Simply because you sang "Livin' on a Prayer", my favorite song of all time, and because Bon Jovi is the shit. While watching you're audition and hearing you say that you'd be taking on a massive Bon Jovi hit, I'll admit i cringed, because all that came to mind was Jordin Sparks' shrieking rendition of it last season. It made me nervous, to say the least.
But, as much as i despise saying the following words, you proved me wrong. The song's already an 80's hit but you made it a current rock version, and, since I'm very much into that type of music, i decided i'd see how far along you went.
Needless to say you've accomplished a hell of a lot. Wether you know it or not, you're giving the other contestants (yes, even David Archuleta), a run for their money. As much as people claim that "the shows over, David Archuleta's got it in the bag", i wouldn't be so sure. The season's only begun, and even if you don't win this entire competition, you'll a) come pretty damn close, and/or
You're a great looking guy, but since i'm only a Junior in High School it's an extreme long shot, and that's not what i'm all about anyways. The "Word Nerd" segment is what made me an even bigger fan of yours, if possible. Simply because my schedule consists of many literary based classes, such as honors american literature, literary analysis 3, etc. I love words as well, but my respect for you and you're intellect grew when i found you were able to use the words "immaculate" and "vindicating" correctly in a sentence. Seems you are a true "word nerd", which gives me a piece of mind that at least somebody on this show is properly educated.
You'll do fantastic in this competition, you're fan base stretches much farther then the midwest borders. I'll be voting and rooting for you along the way. If and when you all go on the summer tour, i'd love to be able to meet you when you stop in St. Louis. This season needed an authentic rocker, and you're perfect for the part.
Best of luck, David.
