I am quite new here so if I am out of topic sorry for that. But I read on internet that fans have own wordnerd number. I think its great idea but I can´t find where I can get my number too.

Scroll up and you will see a link. Go there and ask for one. I finally have a number...1860 (no, I wasn't alive then ). Please know that my screenname over there is LALady55 (I should change it, really) so there is no confusion.

FINALLY, I got my number LoL I neglected to get one until now...I don't know why. But anyway, I am now officially Word Nerd #2040. I hate that I'm so far down on the list, but oh well, at least I have one now LoL

First you have to go to the top right where it says Sign Up and create a user name and password (if you haven't already.) I did have a lot of trouble doing this at first, and ended up making up a different user name than what I have here. But once you create the user name & password, you Sign In (again in the top right) and then you go to the LAST page of the thread above and make your request for the Word Nerd #. Then 24 hours later (sometimes less) go back to the FIRST page of that thread and scroll down the list until you see your user name after a number and that's your Word Nerd Number (for example, over there I'm NowWeAreCookin and I'm #2100.)

Many thanks to the dedicated person who's handling all the Word Nerd Numbers over there at the AI forums! Now I just need to get some white iron on letters so I can put my WN# on the back of my DC shirt for the AI concerts!

I have tried since last night to sign up on the A.I. boards to no avail!! Is there any other way to get a Word Nerd #?? I hate to be a pain...but I almost threw Mr. Monitor here out the window when it kept going back to the same sign up page....especially after filling the doggone thang out 50+ times!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

yes that happened to me too But dont worry. You got to try out another time and it'll be fine Like me I tried to sign up yesterday and it happened exactly like what you faced, so i quit. But today when i came back and reg, it went through now i'm waiting for my number

I have no idea why it's so hard to register over there. Like you, I filled out the form over and over again, but it wouldn't "take." Nothing would happen and there was no error message to tell me what was wrong, like if someone already had that user name or if my password wasn't in the right format or whatever. I ended up trying again the next day with a different user name and got right through.

So my suggestion would be to pick another user name, try a different email address, try a different day, use a different browser (if you were using Internet Explorer then try Firefox or vice versa), or even try a different computer (in case it has something to do with "cookies" -- not our kind, but the computer kind.) Just making guesses here.

I give up, though!! I cleaned out my cache did everything I needed to do and still can't sign up over at A.I.!! There was a post that said the deadline is the 28th!!

I tried to make mine "vixen" but it didn't work.

O.k....so because I'm REALLY hard-headed and stubborn I didn't "give up" and lo and behold...I FINALLY got signed in and have been given my #!! I am WN # 2178 and my pending Title is: The COOKIEGoddess Word Nerd!!

The reason I couldn't sign up was because it wasn't accepting my email address....I had to use my other one!! Don't know why....but that's all it took and BOOM I was signed up!!

I can't be of any more help than that....I'm sorry!! I did clear out my cache and everything so maybe those having a problem still might want to try that along with using an alternate email address!!

I truly hope ya'll can get signed up...I know it was angrying me immensely and it was VERY frustrating!!

Okay, so those of us who have numbers ...how do we get them to show up under our profiles? Some show, some don't ...is this something WE do or the admins have to do? Enquiring minds want to know

If you go to My Controls (at the top of the page) and then click on Edit Profile Information, there is a spot to type in your Word Nerd #. Hope that helps!
