Here is the performance order for tonight:

1. David Archuleta
2. Syesha Mercado

  • David Cook - Simon Cowell chose: “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack -He changed it up - made it a little rocky - almost unrecognizable.
  • David Archuleta - David chose: “With You” by Chris Brown - Audience loved it. Interacted with the audience.
  • Syesha Mercado -Syesha chose: “Fever” by Peggy Lee - A very short sequined mini-dress and sung it very suggestively.
  • David Cook - David chose: “The World I Know” by Collective Soul “Dare You to Move” by Switchfoot - Played guitar He said he wanted to do something upbeat.
  • David Archuleta - The producers chose: “Longer” by Dan Fogelberg - injected some runs.
  • Syesha Mercado - The producers chose: “Hit Me Up” by Gia Farrell - Syesha’s performances were the least memorable of the night.
  • David Cook - The producers chose: “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. Strings and violins on this one.

EDIT: ETA: Caffiend is back from rehearsal. She said things went well, but that everyone, including Debbie the stage manager seemed very tense. All three seem to be in this to win. Caffiend thought that Syesha Mercado and David Cook sounded a little off-pitch tonight. Overall, The Davids had the most memorable performances. Syesha “Broadwayed” her way through all three numbers. There wasn’t a point where she really connected to what she was singing. She’s definitely gone all glam. Lots of sequins tonight.

Nevermind the comment. lol

There are comments on the others but not for DC. What does that mean? Last week with HLTW it was not good news, when there are no comments.

Overall, those comments are good, but I don't like hearing he was off pitch because that doesn't sound good, but hearing that Syesha was the least memoriable gives me some comfort. I jsut hope the TV viewing audience connects with his performances because it's sort of obvious that Syesha is trying to sexify herself to the top 2! rolleyes.gif

Strings and violin! Sweet!

He'll be good tonight, I have a feeling. The only curveball thrown him was by Simon, and it sounds like he made the most of that situation - the two others are his forte. He'll be just fine.

Now, if only David did a song that he could have sung "very suggestively". wink.gif
CRZYASH5787
eeeeeeppppppppppp!

Welllllllll....it is only dress rehearsal so we shall see!!

haha Dare You To Move is upbeat???

Oh geez! Then tons of women would have been passed out on the floor and wouldn't be able to vote. laugh.gif I'm not implying that I wouldn't have loved that though. wink.gif

Probably so in comparison to the two other songs he's doing. laugh.gif I don't remember being the original version of that song being that upbeat myself, but my memory is not one to be trusted most times.

I think it is an old rule in show business that a bad dress rehearsal is actually good luck for the show itself. I know I have heard that before.

Me too. but then, i always worry.

And I will freely admit that the idea of a rocked out version of Simon's pick...blink.gif

God...please pull this off David.

CRZYASH5787
I feel hysterical...wth is wrong with me lol
velvetsun
Did you guys notice that whenever the rehearsal reports come out...they never have any actual remarks on how Syesha performed? It's always about what she wore, and how she looked.
Maybe Paula is the one leaking these spoilers. wink.gif

But seriously...I'm worried about the whole "pitch" thing with David. I'm doing my best to remain calm...but it's not working at all.
*InlovewithDC*
Biting nails.......Start the show already!
alicia505
Gah those comments are making me insane! I think he will be fine though!

Ok...totally confused now, since more people are reporting on the rehearsals....and are saying totally different things. From LJ:

http://community.livejournal.com/davidcook...650.html#cutid1

*All three contestants did really good performing all three songs...
*David has the pimp spot!
*Doesn't change up "Dare You to Move" or "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", switches up "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing"
*"Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" is last and is done with an orchestra.
*He looked REALLY good (he wears a v-neck black shirt during "Dare You To Move", for "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" he dressed nicer and wore a black suit jacket...good hair day...lol)
*He told one of the little girl's that she reminded him of his niece.
*They were having a problem with a chord on his guitar at the end of second song, because it was still plugged in and they were trying to move his equipment and he stood there for like twenty minutes while they tried to figure out how to move it all with his guitar still on.
*David was sitting on the stool waiting for Ryan to come out and David was spinning on the stool while he waited
*They saw Andrew and David's mom as they were leaving

just a t-shirt for one of the songs, he looked f***ing hot, he sounded f***ing amazing, and he is the sweetest human being on the planet, he told one little girl she reminded him of his niece, he kept hugging Archie, they played MJ for the recap and he applauded at the screen. He and Seacrest are "a f***ing riot together."

"your face" - totally straight as far as she knew, it sounded amazing
DYTM - guitar and she was distracted by his hotness in the T-shirt
IDWMAT - string section down on stage with him - "he f***ing rocked it" (other friend this is his "this is my now" moment)

I'm very confused. Did we watch the same show? David said he chose the Switchfoot song b/c the lyrics were more appropiate to where he was right now in this stage of the game. And The First Time Ever I saw Your Face was very recognizable though David Glory noted it at the end which was Totally Awesome! His final song was Unbelieveable-- “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was his best song of the night & Rickey rocked the guitar portion & the audience gave David a standing O. I think the only one who DID have memorable performances tonite was Mr. Cook. Just my opinions.
bat-chen
I really love Switchfoot and this song is amazing! but why Daid changed his mind and decide to sing the song?

I think I misspoke, only to the degree that I was giving my opinions on the actual live show & not the rehearsal. Sorry.
