I VERY MUCH want Cookie to win. The deepest part of my soul wants this for him. He deserves it and I think he would be deeply touched and blown away.

Regardless of the outcome next week.....I am FULLY confident that DC will sell FAR more records than DA and he will be keeping our iPods filled for years to come. RIGHT NOW, I bet he has artists out there lined up to work with him! I bet there are singers who want Cookie to write songs for them because he is so deep and full of expression with his lyrics. And his musicality - wow, his songs range from soft & melodic to rockin your socks off with his incredible guitar playing skills (Analog Heart, anyone!!?). I also think that DC will eventually have his own label and he will be out hunting for new artists. He will want to mentor them and help them along their journey to stardom and my gosh...the magical capabilities he has for arranging! WOW! If AI is still around in 7-10 yrs, the producers will be asking our David to come visit and mentor the upcoming little idols and they will all be singing HIS songs! I assure you Archie will NOT find this success. He is only a voice. Nothing more.

Archie album would serve best as a sleeping aid.

I agree with every word, D girl Archie maybe have a good voice but Cook have it all!!

i have to say i was impressed by archuleta during the auditions. and i wasn't really a fan of cook (only because i liked MJ). but i have to say that by archuleta's second performance, i told myself, this is everything he can do. I mean he's a good singer, he has a great voice but each performance is the same. he doesn't do anything with the songs.

Now cook... he has made me like him eventhough i didn't want to. whenever he performs i would yell at the tv screen because i hated him for being sooooo good and for making me LIKE him. he spices it up each week. he brings his own style to each song. randy is right though. he is getting predictable. he's getting predictably GOOD. when he walks out on that stage, you just know he's gonna blow you away. and even though you're expecting it, once he does... it still takes your breath away.

and that ladies and gentlemen is what an american idol is supposed to be.

okay - I would LOVE to see him win, but I wonder if it would be better if he DIDN'T Win. He wouldn't be bound by that stupid AI Contract!

They are all bound by a contract! For the 3 months, after the finale none of the top 10 can sign with anyone else. 19E has first rights to them during that period. The top 2 are guaranteed record deals anyway. He said it plain as day in his homecoming that he wants to win this. He didn't come into this competition for a 2nd place finish. The runnerups from past seasons have not sold well with the exception of Clay's first CD. The winner gets more TV appearances, promotion, and more airplay that the runner up does not get.

That attitude was what caused Blake to lose last year because people thought he'd be better off not winning and that hasn't been the case at all!

This is my biggest fear that people will stop voting next week because they think he will be better off. Wrong answer folks!

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it's generally not the position we have been supporting around here. And, yes, even if DC does not win he IS bound by the AI contract.

Remember, we want DC to win because he wants to win! We are here to support DC in his endeavors and as he has said, no one has worked harder or wanted this more than he does! David will be making the same album under 19 management whether he comes in first or second, but first is so much better because it'll provide him with more publicity in magazines and TV appearances.

Also, anyone who says he needs to do things like Daughtry probably doesn't realize that Chris made his CD his own way while under 19's management! 19 wants DC to succeed ($$$)!!!

But the most important reason, once again, is because Cookie wants it! And we're not going to let him down!

So keep voting for David Cook!!

Thank you Willow. You were more tactful that I was. LOL I had no intentions of being mean with my post but that truly isn't the way that the majority of the fans feel. We know he's in this to win it and I know that we will work to the best of our abilities to get him to that win!

guys, he is in it to win it. to WIN. not to be a runner up. but to be THE IDOL.

let's keep our eyes on the prize and not over think this. he HAS to win.

Oh, it riles me up, too, when I see someone on here saying that maybe DC would be better off if he doesn't win because I believe that we have to remain diligent in our support and our voting and we've got to keep the morale up. I'm the official campaign morale booster over at the soap couple site that I help run, so I'm used to dealing with a few negative nellies. And mostly the people who say that DC shouldn't win so he can make his own type of album try to use Chris Daughtry as an example -- and I like to point out that Daughtry DID make his own kind of album the way he wanted to in his style with mostly songs that he wrote himself that were big, big hits and which outsold every other album in 2007, AND he did it under the AI contract and under 19's management!!

Just trying to give people all the facts so that they can make an informed decision -- and, of course, that decision will be to vote their little fingers off next Tuesday night to make sure that our COOKIE wins the AI title that he so richly deserves!!

Thank you for that post! I'm freaking out when some people are still thinking that David shouldn't win, because it has been said SO many times, that he WANTS to win, so why can't we just let him win? Well, he WILL win.

Exactly! This is the attitude that we all need to have: Cookie WANTS to win, so we want him to win, and he WILL win because WE are going to make it happen for him!

So, there is NO DOUBT that David Cook wants to win this, so there should be no doubt that we want to give this to him! That is why we're all here, isn't it? Because we love and support David Cook and his family -- unconditionally -- and we want to see him achieve his goal, and be all that he can be (okay, stole that one from the U.S. Army. )

Anyways, I want Cookie to win so bad.
I cried last night when Ryan said he was going to the finale.
God, imagine next week if DC wins, I'd probably be crying or well sobbing even more.
I hope to god that he does win. He deserves this so much.
And us voting for DC and then DA wins it would be so much idk crap.
I guess people do like stuff that makes them fall asleep.

I couldn't agree more. DA is talented for his age but it is my opinion as a DJ for 20+ years that DC is, by far, the more talented and mentally ready for what happens WHEN he wins. Regardless of AI contractual obligations, DC will continue on his way for years to come. DA has some 'growing' to do and he'd be the first to admit it...he is astounded that he has made it this far. DC is ready....has been since he started taking this seriously..some view that as cocky---not at all. He realizes know that the MANY doors of opportunity exist for his exploration. I am proud and honored to play DC's music dl's from AI every chance I get and look forward to his future award-winning selections!

DC is definitely going to win this year. We have supported him through auditions to Hollywood week to Top 24 to the Top 12 and for the finale. He deserves it more than Archuleta.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was watching Canadian Idol when Kelly Clarkson mentored and thought that was pretty cool... David would be PERFECT because he is so intelligent and knowledgeable about music and arrangement. He honestly would be the best mentor for those up and comers...

david cook wants this. so people..vote vote vote! i am from the philippines.. and yeah, i will vote. and call everyone i know to do the same thing.! it will all be worth it when he sings the last song wednesday. (well in our case, thursday).. now it's all up to us to make that possible.!

I feel that, if David wants this, I'll do as much as I can for that to happen. Times have probably changed as AI has progressed. I bet they have learned from Daughtry's success with doing a lot of his stuff....at least, that is what I'm hoping for. I do know that Bo had a terrible time with them in doing his first CD. They were not willing to listen to his input. After listening to David's own work, I have a lot of faith in the CD he is capable to do. I'm grateful he will get a hightech studio and a lot of promotion to make his dreams come true.

I hope you are right!!! The producers need to let David do his thing! I agree...his own work is already brilliant. I am hoping that for the finale (on the song-writing contest song) and for his future CD's.
