Hey everyone, I made this thread like this over on IDF (a very popular Idol website) and I thought I'd post this here as well so we can all join in to spread the word on myspace pages, fan sites, forums, word of mouth and any other possible way to let people know that they need to vote. Together we can pull out a win for our guy.


- DO NOT believe for a second that DC doesn't want to win or is better off without winning. Win or lose he is in the hands of 19E and it's not a bad thing because they manage Daughtry and we all know how that turned out for him and his band. One of the reasons we need to vote is because the winner receives a ton of promotion.


- Make sure you voting device (phone for example) is charged.


- Make sure you are rested and and wide awake. Idol voting is serious business.


- Don't split votes.


- Use 2 phones.


- DO NOT waste any time. This includes going online. This is the finale we're talking about and you can't get distracted for a moment.


- Don't listen to the whole recorded message when your vote goes through. Hang up and vote again as soon as the message begins to play.


- If you have texting then USE IT. Those are guaranteed votes without the hassle of busy signals. If you have a friend or family member with text messaging then ask to borrow their phone even for just a little while.

Gizmo has worked for many of our international members in Canada, Europe, Central and South America, as well as all the way out in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore among others.

Gizmo also works for Americans in the Pacific/Mountain/Alaska/Hawaii time zones (because the Gizmo voting period is based on the Eastern/Central time zone) and/or anyone who no longer has a standard land line in their home.

Some members have reported being able to get in as many as 200 votes for David Cook via Gizmo!

Yep to all of this! I think it might be a great idea for fans to post a youtube vid with the facts about coming in 1st vs. coming in 2nd so that these idiots that don't plan to vote could see the truth and know that he wants the win. In other words, vote now and ask questions later!

I fear he'll lose some votes from fans because they worry about his creative freedom when either way he's signing with the same company. We need him to win and get all that winner promotion.

fans outside the US, if you don't want to download Gizmo or you probably couldn't vote through Gizmo or you're too lazy to use Gizmo (because it is kind of slow at times because it depends on your internet connection)

i tried it last week and my votes were counted
and you guys are probably thinking about the cost of it
all i can tell you, try and check first if it's free for your telco service because when i voted last week, it was free for me but i kept getting this voice automated thing that says calls from outside US might be charged, so yeah, try and find a way to check if they'll charge you (i don't want you guys to kill me by the end of the month).

I just posted in another thread an idea I had about going through YT and any time you see a comment like "DC would be better off not winning because then he'll be free to make his own album," please make a counter comment that this is a false assumption. DC is under contract with AI/19E whether he finishes first or second and he will make the same album whether he finishes first or second, but finishing first is way cooler (more press coverage, more TV appearances, fully showcased in the AI Tour.) Point out that David Cook himself has said that he wants to win this. Point out that Chris Daughtry made his highly successful rock album while under the AI/19E contract and that the producers want lightning to strike twice with David Cook (because to them it means $$$.)

And then encourage everyone to vote for David Cook on Tuesday night FOR THE WIN!

All good advice. We can pull this off for David if everyone votes as much as possible. Tuesday's going to be great for the Wordnerds. VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE AND THEN VOTE SOME MORE.

Just as a sidenote re: your comment about DC being part of 19E/AI Carrie Underwood is a prime example of a winner on AI being Very Successful. Tonite she won Best Female Artist of the Year on the American County Music
Awards (She thanked 19E & Simon Fuller) and Kelly Picker was a featured finger during the show.

Frankly, I don't think that David needs any kind of promoting. Either what he does will stand alone or it will not. Promoting sounds like the person needs help, IMO.

Well, look at it this way, it's really for the fans who are convinced he's better off not winning than anything else. It's desinged to show these people that winning is the better option.

Jeannine, I totally agree what David does will stand on his own or not. My video is just to get the word out to all DC fans who don't realize how close this race is and that they need to vote.
