The song Creep is by the band Radiohead. Axium (David's old band) did a cover of the song in Tulsa. He didnt write it. Hope that helped.

Creep.....from the Radiohead album Pablo Honey(1993) Lyrics by lead singer Thom Yorke(I think). It was the band's first single and probably their biggest mainstream hit. Thom hates it......the band rarely ever performs the song anymore b/c he refuses. <- I heard that part on vh1.

I remember that song getting a lot of airplay on MTV when it was first released.

As everyone has said it is a cover of a Radiohead song. What I love about DC is his diversity in tastes of music. Radiohead is one of the best bands of at least my time. He did the song justice.
David recorded it with his band Axium and is on his CD "Alive in Tulsa at The Venue 2/14/04"

Anyone notice his weird accent on the song? Quite funny....
No one will be Thom Yorke though...not even DC! (saying that I covered creep once too...)
He does get quite a few words wrong though bless him!

I didn't notice anything about his accent because I'm from the same general area of the country and that is how we sound. So it doesn't sound weird to me!

I heard Radiohead's version of "Creep" about a week ago, and personally I prefer David's version. He sings it with such intensity.

As much as I love DC's version, it will never be as good as the orginal. Yes David sings it with passion but the original has an ethereal quality. Its beautifully morose which is why I love it.
It also reminds me of my youth!!

The funny thing about "Creep," when it first came out and was in heavy rotation, Radiohead was thought to be a One Hit Wonder. Of course they went on the become one of the most influential bands of the past decade. It's been covered many times...one of my favorites is an acoustic version done by Korn (if you can believe it!).

Prince also did a cover of Creep at the most recent Coachella Festival. You can search the tubey place for some fans who were there.
On Axium's (DC's) cover, I think perhaps the "accent" people are referring to is his weird Scott Stapp impersonation during the first part of the song. From the falsetto onwards though, the weird "accent" goes away and you just hear DC's regular voice -- which I love so much more than the Stappy affectation.

Wow... I can't believe you had never heard Creep before!!
It's one of the most famous songs of the 90's!!!! The original version is great... But Cookie's is good too.

I love, love, love David's version but no-one can compare with Radiohead in my eyes, they are completely unique and awesome. They regularly get voted the best band in the world over here in the UK and their albums are considered the best ever by loads of really cool musicians and music critics. I guess David would be a big fan too.
If you like Creep, check out Karma Police and No Surprises. No Surprises is my favorite Radiohead song and the video is really interesting, it should be on youtube.

Omg you have to check out No Suprises, its an amazing song!
Alli, is that the video where Thom York is submerged in a vat of water?
Footnote: The album its from 'OK Computer' has been voted the best album of all time.

Seriously, Creep is one of my favorite songs from that era!!
And to compare Radiohead to DC's cover.. it's not even comparable! I absolutely love David's cover, but, if you listen to the original, and then to his cover, it's like 2 different songs. The original is very mellow, were as David cranked it up a notch.
Although, I have a special place in my heart for DC's because of him growling "You're so f***ing special" in my ear.. That just is.. just.. Yeah...
