are there any backstage passes for this show?

A Friend and I are going and traveling from Nashville.We have tickets and hotel across street.And of course,like everyone else,we're looking for ways to go to a meet n greet or backstage passess would be wonderful!!!:)

i love lexington. it is such a classy little town. all the architecture is so cohesive. at least the part i saw. i digress as usual...

Hey all! Say a prayer for me. I'm hoping to bring my 9 year old daughter into town for the show. I saw it in Columbus but couldn't go to the buses because we had to go to the funeral home...wahhh! Anyway, my daughter would be ecstatic if we could autographs from any of the Idols.

KYWildcat...my hubby bleeds KY Blue! He has a friend that invites him down a couple of times each season and they sit courtside. I think my hubby likes KY BB better than sex...lol! I've begged his friend to try and get seats for the concert. Unfortunately if they aren't reasonably close my daughter (being short like her mother!) can't see so I'm hoping for something decent. If we can't get good seats we may still come down for the buses...we'll see.

By the way, got any suggestions on where to stay close to the Arena? Where's everyone else staying?

I bleed blue. I have season football and basketball tickets, (45yard line and Row A in Rupp), yes, they were inherited from Granny. I never miss a game. My life revolves around the game schedules. People must have priorities, you know.

Rupp and the Hyatt are in the same ginormous building, the Radisson (soon to be renovated and become the Hilton) is across the street. For any others, go to GoogleEarth and search hotels in Lexington.

Well...unfortunately it looks like the Hyatt is booked and the Radisson isn't accepting reservations maybe because of renovations? Not sure where we'll end up.

We are staying at the Radisson. Think I may call just to confirm. I made our reservation a couple months ago.

The Radison has been in the process of changing names. It is now the Lexington Downtown Hotel and Convention Center. That was probably the problem.. Here's a liknk just in case you want it.

does anyone know about the bus parking? Is it above ground or below? I will be staying at the Hyatt with KentuckyKat. We won't be getting there until late Friday night. Any information would be really helpful.

Also, I just checked and the Hyatt shows it still is available. It's $221.00 per night - ouch.

I will be driving in from Louisville. Does anyone know where the buses will be parked? Like others, I assume that the Idols will be staying at the Hyatt. Since the tour is idle (not idol) on Friday, I wonder if David will go to Kansas City on Friday and then fly to Lexington on Saturday.

For what its worth, I am a fan (season ticket holder for basketball and football) and alumna of the University of Louisville. Mr. Cook is one of the few people who can entice me to go to Rupp Arena.

My seat is in section 11, which is to the side of the stage. I think I will have an obstructed view but I didn't want to sit in the upper level.

I hope to see all the other Word Nerds at the concert.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn express. It's about a mile from the arena.

IF YOU NEED A SINGLE TICKET:
They just added seats on the floor. They come up as Sec 1 Row C1, C2 etc. THESE ARE ON THE FLOOR even though they say upper level. C1 is in the 4th row, C2 fifth etc. They are only coming up as singles. While the people at rupp could not guarantee these were on the catwalk ( like the first seat next to the catwalk), they thought they were as only one seat was added to each row on each side (make sense?). I just got mine, and there is still at least one left (all I can pull up)!
Again, don't freak that it says UPPER level. I have confirmed with Rupp it is on the floor! Good luck!

i am on the 12th row. in the middle, so due to the catwalk, i am hoping *crosses fingers* that it will be more like 4th row. other seats are very tempting. but with my tickets and 2 days at the hyatt (ouch) there is nooooo way!

You guys are making me wish I would have gotten a room now. I'm driving from Cincinnati, so it's really close for me. But I didn't even think about coming down on Friday. Hmm....oh well, live and learn.
One of our local radio stations is collecting school supplies to fill 1000 book bags for needy children and anyone
who donates gets their name entered for a drawing for tickets to this show and meet and greet passes.
I haven't bought school supplies in years...I may have to do some shopping tomorrow. Wish me luck.

OMG...I'm calling Rupp 1st thing in the morning to see if I can get one of those seats.

FYI- There is NO underground. My guess, buses will be behind the arena in Cox Street lot.

C2 is coming up right now on Ticketmaster....just so you know. I'd grab it in a heartbeat but I'll have my 9 year old daughter with me and I don't think she wants to sit alone...lol! If anyone upgrades and has 2 decent seats let me know. She's short so we have to be fairly close. I actually was shooting for Sec. 11 or 33 in the first few rows since it's more stadium seating and I could take good video...

Any luck with the ticket? I wonder if they'll stay at the hyatt since it's attached. I know John Mayer stayed there last February. If they do, they wouldn't need buses in town. So who knows.

I'm from Louisville and going to the Lexington show too. I'm real excited, I also went to the Cincinnati show and meet DC early. I'm also planning on getting to Lexington early to try to meet them. Maybe since they will be off Friday it will be good for meeting them early Saturday. Haven't been to Rupp in a long time. Do any locals, or anybody have a clue as to where they might come out for meetings? I read somewhere recently a fan waited outside the buses, saw them come out but then realized too late that they were actually meeting fans somewhere else.

Okay...since my daughter and I have not had the chance to meet DC yet I really hope that doesn't happen to us. This is our last chance. We couldn't meet him in Columbus because of a funeral. Fate wouldn't be that cruel right?

Well, I planned on going since that's pretty much the closest place to me. But, I see it as, if I wait till he goes on his solo tour, I can go and just see our Cookie. That would be much better in my opinion. Granted, I love them all but I'm just a rock fan so seeing Cook would be better than seeing a mixture of all genres. My friend is going though (Archie fan) and she's super excited! I do believe she said she was going to try and get an autograph for me though. = ]

I thought about that too COOKIE! But he's just impossible to resist... You are a stronger woman than I am. Plus my daughter really likes DC too but I'm pretty sure his SOLO tour will probably not be appropriate for a 9 year old. So this is her only chance. For now...hehehe!

I would just be afraid that on the solo tour, there might not be before show meetings. Strike while the iron is hot would be my advice. Not saying he wouldn't still be wanting to meet his fans on the solo tour but you never know how things might be different. These moments now might be the most accessible he will ever be to us, but ofcourse he defies the norm in every way.

In light of Mavid being forbidden, I say we take Rickey's advice and take signs for "Please don't stop the Mavid". I am hoping the next couple shows will change that, but I doubt it will make a return before ours. Anyway, just a thought.

MJ stated yesterday that they had been told they couldn't do the "Mavid Dances" anymore. There are a few different speculations as to why. However, there has been a petition started that is listed here under the tour thread to try to bring them back. Rickey's site also had a good write up on it.

We were like ....Wuhhaaatt? last night on Rickey.org when the cellcaster said there was no Mavid dance. I did fill out the petition. It is one of the best parts of the concert.

i was talking to my mom the other day about taking my disabled sister to a concert one day (who has seizure disorder) and she said - "no, she might have a seizure" and i said, "do you realize when i see david cook that I might have a seizure?!?"

I think it's HILARIOUS! And I can definitely feel your pain. My mom doesn't get it either. And lots of seizing will be going on in my seat...LOL!

I'm so freaking excited the MAVID is back!!!!!!! I got 4th row tix today on the side of the stage that they do the dance...and I just bought a 4GB memory card for videos....LOL!

Hi all -- my first post on this forum. I'll be driving from the Knoxville TN area for the Lexington concert and can't wait! I'm hoping to be able to greet the buses... my only problem is my dog. Check in time for my hotel isn't until 4pm and it's too hot to leave her in the car. I don't want to kennel her as she is a rescue dog; I've only had her 5 months and I don't want her to think she is being abandoned again.

Rupp released some floor tickets today, so I'm in row B -- whoohooo! (I have a single in Section 31 Row K for sale at a discount, if anyone is interested).

Congrats on your seat! I'm sure you can probably check in early if you explain your situation. I'll be in row C1 (which is supposedly added onto row D). We'll see you there!!!!!!!

See if the hotel will let you check in early. If they aren't full then they probably will. Please don't leave your dog in the car!!!!!!
