I can't sing at all or dance... so I'm pretty useless!
*TheLastRockette*
There must be something your good at...everyone has something!

I was pretty useless at a lot of things til I hit 22 then for some reason everything interested me and since then I think I've got better in places... Still suck on guitar though, gonna really give it a shot this summer, improving on it!
CBB
I'm good at doing people's hair! I swear I think I'm a hairdresser!

Its quiet here tonight - I guess everyone is watching the Apprentice?

I finally got my computer working again after it imploded earlier, I was more worried about not being able to find out the latest David news than about losing anything else on it! laugh.gif
*TheLastRockette*
The Apprentice is on tomorrow isn't it?

And CBB I am rubbish at hair so you'd beat me hands down! Plus I bet you could play a mean tambourine!

Yeah the Apprentice is tomorrow night. biggrin.gif Can't wait!

Ssssh, my tambourine playing was a secret! tongue.gif

Wonder who will go tomorrow... In my opinion they seem like a bunch of Idiots...I honestly think I could do better than some of them and apart from working in shops I have NO sales experience!
Some of it is just common sense though..

Well. Everyone needs a tambourine player, it's just not rock n roll without one!

I think Helene will go - Sir Alan proper laid into her last week so she's got to go this week in my opinion. I want Claire to win I think, I watched that thing on BBC1 about them all last night and I really like Claire and Lucinda now. I can not stand Alex. Urgh, he does my head right in!

That's true!!! But I just didn't want people to like me only because of what I do in the band... biggrin.gif

I do think one of the boys will win though - maybe Lee????

Tambourine eh? When I was 10 I was promoted to xylophone player - maybe we could be Davids percussionists on tour?????

Can I play triangle? Saw the Foo Fighters last night and their triangle player did a fab solo!
*TheLastRockette*
First thing I ever played was a xylophone!! Then I was given a role in a play with a song, and the vocals kinda went from then, discovered I was naturally in tune! So I know I'm lucky!!

Wanna learn a classical instrument though, like the violin...so I can make country music!

I dunno who will win the Apprentice in all honesty.. I think the boys are favoured at the moment, but Claire seems to have a good grip on things!

You truly are talented - I was never allowed off the xylophone!!!!

Albacookie- but of course..we could get a massive percussion group together.. it'd be ace kinda Dream Theatre-esk!

Emma C- thanks! Clainet? wow, well even grade 5 is pretty damn good! You only need a grade 5 to get into a Music Degree!!

I am actually working on putting together a real life 'super' band, using the best of the best of my students...think there going to be amazing once it's sorted!

Hey, Rockette - you can have the leads and let me sit with David drinking my DIET COKE WITH NO ALCOHOL!

Cool - I'll get practising, I might need a while as I have ZERO musical talent!
*TheLastRockette*
Kylie- It's a deal I would be so honoured for him to hear me perform! And diet Coke is defo the way forward none of that full fat rubbish!!

Emma and Albacookie- Now PC Skills...I can teach you that... I teach ICT Key Skills at the college I work at! But I am a music tutor... I coordinate the First Diploma in Music Practice...so don't worry! trust me, some of my learners couldn't find middle C on a keyboard when they started but are now all kinds of music with confidence and passion!

I am a big believer that anyone can learn an instrument with a bit of passion and determination!

xMakeMeFeelItx
Rockette - we can sit and be Paula and Randy! Actually... I'm more of a Simon, I'm very critical and have been picking the winners from the first auditions for a while. As for the diet - I only drink that because it burns my throat if it's ordinary. If anything I need the full fat. I'm tube fed overnight.

Is it wrong that I can tell you all the notes on the keyboard [can't tell you the key though]?

Thought I'd let y'all see this, the girl is me:

I may take take you up on that sometime! I have a friend who is a singing teacher and she insists pretty much anyone can learn to sing in tune - I've yet to be convinced!

Hey everyone, just been out for a couple of drinks with my housemate as she had her last exam today smile.gif We were going to stay out but, bless her, I think the stress of the past few weeks has done her in and she's gone straight to bed!

Lol, I just read that wondering why or how on earth those random things were in your post!

I need to find an instrument to play! I'll have to do something like the tambourine or triangle too as I lack any skills! I did learn the clarinet when I was in primary school, but I only did my grade 2 and then quit! Also, I play a mean Away in a Manger on the keyboard, lol.
*TheLastRockette*
Kylie- It's a bloody good place to start knowing the keys!

And I'm defo a Simon when it comes to judging people, we play X Factor in our live sessions sometimes and choose different learners to play the other judges and give the bands feedback, pretty fun!

I do think anyone can learn to sing, it's something thats in us all, a way of releasing whatever emotion we have at the time!

Thats why I love music, there is no right or wrong, it's all personal choice if you like a song or artist! I personally just listen to anything and if I 'get it' lyrically and can have a dance or nod my head to it I'm happy!

Back to dancing and taking David out..I am pretty sure i was doing this move last night, reckon it's got a name?
xMakeMeFeelItx
Rockette, "Duck - Kylie's got lucozade" is what I'd call it! I was singing "We're Going To Ibiza" when we were walking to the village earlier, and half an hour later I was singing As Long As He Needs Me!!

I want you as my teacher! I do be mean on people - I said something really mean a while ago, but I can't remember what it was. Although I can be mean, I really recognise talent when I see it. I called Leon and DC to win, and I called Jordin to win. I was born with no ears, and it amuzes people that I can tell them if someone is ouot of tune, time and who is going to win based on voice early on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctxS7zhHAPU - Putting that in again, that's my work, and it's me.

It is totally Mime-esk, or kinda 'argh it's coming to get me' Like a dinosaur or something..

'the prehistoric mime'

lol.

Kylie I think your totally on the right track to be an ace musician! smile.gif My learners have a lot of fun, and because it's college level it's very relaxed and we can have a laugh about it all!

On a completely unrelated note, my slipper just exploded! Not literally but the bottom has ripped and now there is pink spongey fluffy stuff in a trail from the bathroom to my bedroom door... :/

Guess I'll have hoover at some point....sigh.

Edit... It's polly by the by...or Polz...whichever really!

He is looking at his hand though... so it could be the 'hand spotting' dance, just randomly wave your arms around and keep looking at your hand all the time...
That could be pretty amusing!

Kinda vogue-esk too... 'strike a pose'

Emma- really I would have thought your name was Bob...or something tongue.gif

I think he could totally do the whole 'comedy' movie thing...

ohhhhmylord! This is now offically my favourite DC photo EVER!!!
We definately need to take him dancing. It would be so much fun!

Are we starting a band? Im confused!!
xMakeMeFeelItx
Rockette, I've never actually studied music. Was in a choir competition and have done a few school plays in my time. My sister acted in three shows professionally, one of those with Rachel Tucker from I'd Do Anything. My cousin is in Music College, and my uncle has played the pubs and clubs for years on end. I love Carl Vereheyn and Dylan though - musical geniouses!

How about "Handy Mirror"!?
*TheLastRockette*
Kylie- Sounds like a musical family! Like the Vontraps! lol. My folks are more listeners than muso's although my dad does play a mean guitar. My sisters a singer, her fella a hardhouse DJ, and my brother plays guitar and writes his own stuff...so I guess I was brought up around music. I didn't start off studying it either...did it at school then got a part in a play with a song, next thing you know I had signed up for Music GCSE and started lessons! Went to college and was supposed to be doing A Levels but decided to follow my heart into music, then a degree in Popular Music and Music Technology, then a teaching course, and now I've been teaching since September! (wow I've done quite a bit haven't I?)

Letticea- We're doing both...we'll take DC out dancing, then shove a CD of our band in his hand...he'll love it so much he'll offer us a support slot on his World Tour...
See I have a master plan! lol
(The 'Prehistoric Mime/Handy Mirror') will also be THE dance craze to take over the World...

In other news, I woke up and had totally forgotten about the previous nights 'exploding slipper' incident and put them on, walked downstairs for the usual cup of tea and cigarette wake up call, and then went to the front door to get the post and back to my room...now the house looks like we have gained a new pet...a pink fluffy one. Thank god my flatmate has gone on his hols this week coz it's gonna take a while to clean up! Luckily it's one of my days off, so I can fix it..shortly!

Ok, firstly I'm loving the supporting DC on tour idea! Best plan ever. Of course, I don't have a musical bone in my body so I'll be a miming back up singer! I'll help spread the Prehistoric Mime dance craze! biggrin.gif

Lol! Oh dear, in my head your flat is filled to about waist-height with pink fluff! (My brain isn't thinking about the logic of how that much fluff has come out of a slipper!)
xMakeMeFeelItx
Rockette, yes you have done a HECK of a lot. I did drama GCSE, so again I'm a little theatre geek. And then I love my rock music. I'm really eclectic, but I've got my favourites of everything =]

Kylie xx
*TheLastRockette*
A band always needs backing dancers! I'm pretty sure I could teach everyone the basics on guitar, bass and keys...
We'd rock, I can tell!

And waist high? dear lord! that would be funny!! But thankfully the fluff is now if the hoover!

Theatre geek huh? guess you loved DC's performance of 'Music of the Night' as much as me then? Can go wrong with a bit of musical theatre!

I was like "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS - ANDREW FREAKING LLOYD WEBBER WEEK!!". I love musical theatre - grew up in one of the Belfast theatres watching my sister perform professionally from her wheelchair. Picture below [Rachel Tucker is in it]:

Kylie, I'm obsessed with musicals! I've been to see The Phantom in London.... so you can imagine my reaction to DC's version of Music of the Night!! biggrin.gif

I could do that as well! I imagine that would be quite fun on a stage... tho I'd probably fly off and land on my backside in front of everyone!
xMakeMeFeelItx
Mum has a whole routine on the trampoline for Stop In The Name of Love - we could have that done!
*TheLastRockette*
Well girls what we could do is have trampolines either side of the stage...
And then the tambourine player could do the main time.. 1,2,3,4
The Triangle player could do a sort of jazz/blues beat on the 3 of every count
And the we could get some bongos which could go.. Little Bongo on 2 and Big bongo on 4...

See! Simple!!

(can you tell I've really thought about this!)
