Ok..David rocked and did awesome as usual! But Simon said Little David won by a knock out! I only agree with simon that I wish he had sang "Billie Jean"...That song gave me goose bumbs!
This vote tonight is going to be harder and closer than I had thought! I am praying DC wins of course. I was wondering also why DC didn't seem in the mood to do his "Screams" at the end of a song like he usually does?
They are so different in style so it's like no comparison. I feel Dc gave it his all, that's all that matters right?
Anyway I'm off to VOTE VOTE VOTE!

He was under praised and all my votes went to Cookie as usual....but I was p****ed off that there was no personal message like in years past.
I think he was saving his voice....I've noticed it to be a little strained.

Ok so after voting 4 hours straight... (For DC of course!)
I wanted to share my opinion of Archies performance.
1. Slow songs, all though Archie did great, i believe he took the safe way out.
2. His final song "Imagine"....safe, yes?
Don't get me wrong, i've been a fan of Archie from the beginning as well as DC, but i've kinda noticed that Archies performances are mostly the same & another thing, he doesn't take risks as DC has done, many times.
Sooo theres my thoughts, & hopefully Cookie wins tomorrow! *fingers crossed*

I don't think little David did anything he hasn't done EVERY OTHER NIGHT OF THE WHOLE SHOW.

yawn
And I agree with DC, why sing a song you've already sung? That's too easy and a little cheap in my book. Run out of good ones you can sing? He does have a good voice, but he needs to learn how to use it in more than one way. He will as he matures. DC just showed his versatility and uniqueness AGAIN and I thought his second song was awesome, it will sell!
I also don't think this one show should be the only show you look at when casting a vote. It should be a collective vote from the whole season. If you went back and watched every performance back to back THEN decide, that would be a true vote.
My dh summed it up pretty well for me, he said, "DC DESERVES to win ... DA HAS to win." Meaning, if DA doesn't win, he won't have much of a career on his own.

I voted 830 times in those 4 hours!.
So, yeah clearly that shows who my votes were going to.
Now, I'm not going to say anything bad to people that say they are voting for Archie, but seriously?
Why come here, of all places, & boast that your voting for him here? This is a DC fan site.
It's just going to frustrate & possibly tick a couple of people off.. But, I'm biting my tongue ,& won't say anything, since I don't want to be banned or anything of the sorts.
However, in the aspects of performances, I think David Cook showed his dynamics, & all different sides to his style. A more slow-paced, ballad type song with the U2 one, then rocked it with the original, & then closed out with an emotional type song.
I think with DC refraining from doing a song he all ready done [like Archie did], he was taking steps FORWARD, NOT BACKWARD.
Understand what I mean?
And I think that's the point DC was attempting to get through to Simon about not wanting to do something he had all ready done, because he wants to have progression, not going back to a song he's all ready done. He wanted to showcase something NEW, unlike Archie, who took MANY steps back, by doing a performance of a song he did while in the top 16 I believe, correct?
DC is all about progression & moving forward, not taking steps back.
I LOVE DAVID COOK, & I will ALWAYS be a loyal fan to him, like I have been since the get-go.

Those of us who are true david Cook fans, and we are in the million's.. KNOW it's all about the whole season..NOT just tonight. He has been consistent throughout and anyone who has really watched the show knows that. DA always sounds the same to me..no matter what song he sings. he always sound's nice and he has a beautiful velvety sound to his voice. But DC had made each song his own, every week. I just pray others will see it that way also! I'm not bashing DA..My MOm loves him and so does every young girl I know. IF DA does win? It will be because of all the young ladies out there and many more Moms,lol..Plus people who who didn't watch or take into account each and every week of his hard work..

I really agree. I think that DA has nice voice but always same and it is boring for me. Cookie has so many surprising sides and always brings something different. His voice whip emotion up in me. And besides he is genuine person with amazing talent and uses his brain and heart together. I don“t understand how anyone can see choice and hesitate in this season. David Cook really "stands out by miles".

I have never voted for anyone based upon one night's performance. I look at the whole package. To me, David Cook has been steller all season and not just one night or two nights. Believe me, if he had just been good once or twice, I wouldn't be as inclined to feel this way. But, David Cook had a great season.....case closed as far as I'm concerned.

It's nice of you to show support of little david, but it is rude of you to come onto a fan site DEDICATED to DAVID COOK and post that he deserves to win more.. if you're looking for a nasty reply, well I don't have one for you today since I am too busy supporting DAVID COOK today to say anything nasty to anyone- And after all, it is your opinion, whether I agree with you or not.. but I do have a question for you.. If you are not here to support DAVID COOK then why are you here?
just curious...Out of respect for you I will say that you are entitled to your opinion about who deserves it more, and as a die hard DAVID COOK fan I would ask that you respect US and not post messages like that on this site.
I can assure you that your time would be better spent posting that message on little david's fan site and I can
also assure you that the fans on this site are loyal and dedicated to DAVID COOK and that we are interested in promoting and supporting his desire to become the next American Idol and that we are NOT interested in getting into an argument or debate with anyone who does not share our viewpoint.
I think that we should agree to disagree about who deserves it more and leave it at that.
So, thanks for sharing your opinion about who deserves it more and for the record, I STRONGLY disagree with you and I believe that DAVID COOK deserves it more- just so you know where I stand on the issue.

I thought "Still Haven't Found..." was REALLY amazing. I thought David sounded great and I absolutely loved it, it's now one of my favorite performances. He did a great job with it.

Here are my two cents on last night..
Archie did a fantastic job.. there is no denying that but it was typical slow ballads for him, which shows he doesn't have the versatility that DC does to pull off an upbeat, faster paced song. DC chose to do a new song to showcase his amazing vocals with the Collective Soul song and I think it did just that. It wasn't sappy (until the end when he cried which made me bawl like a little baby!) and it rocked.. he sounded more amazing than I've ever heard him!!
The U2 song was brilliant and Simon was right, it was phenomonel..
His second song showed everyone what we already know.. DC is a rocker.. not a ballad maker (although he can hit those type of songs out of the park, as well)..
I think Archie played it safe and DC took his normal stance and showed that he isn't scared to step out of the American Idol bubble gum sound and show how strong of a performer he is.. there's no doubt in my mind who was the winner but I guess we'll see what America's vote is tonight!!
And to the posters (who I won't CALL OUT even though I want to) who come here to show support for Archie.. go to an Archie site please.. we are all die hard DC fans here and we know in our hearts that he is the most talented. I predict DC will outsale Archie by a country mile.. so peace out..

I'm with everyone here.....Idol is about finding the best over all. Not about who did the best that week. By the way, yes DA was very good last night. But predictable.
David Cook has proven week after week that he is the only ONE who DESERVES to be our Idol. He leaves it on the stage each and every week. He continually takes chances and amazes me and everyone else. I have been blown away many times by DC's performances, ABMB, MOTN, FTEISYF; just to name a few.
This is America and everyone has freedom of speech and the right to express their opinion; however, if you are a DA fan express yourself on a different site. This is home for DC FANS and yes some of us are COUGARS....so be forewarned....you might not want to antagonize us!! Not a smart move....that's all I'm saying.

David Cook held his own last night and taking into consideration his outstanding season of best of the nights, he is by far the one who should win. David Archuleta plays it safe and sings one ballad after another. BORING!

They were both incredible last night. I will acknowledge that Little David brought it last night like he hadn't done all season. Cook deserves the title based on consistency and artistic merit. Right now, the votes have already been tallied and we can no longer control the outcome. Thanks to all who rocked the vote last night...my husband put in over 2,500 text votes for DC on his blackberry--a feat he never imagined doing.
I'm glad Archuleta had a stellar night because it would make a Cook win even sweeter knowing that he was up against a worthy oponent.

He was very good, but I don't think quite amazing. I also think Cook was very good, and didn't get any of the praise he deserved. What a shame, that he had to end his amazing run on this show with last night's judges comments. I was hoping he'd have another ABMB-type night.

I dont think Archie got to be in the finale by just being cute and all, he really can sing, that boy. And during the top 2 show just now, he brought all that he has left. He sang his heart out and it was really good.
But, my preference has always been cook and cook gave us a thorough good performance last night. I don't think Archie had a knockout. Both were somewhat equal.

This year is the first year I have ever watched all of American Idol. Usually after the auditions I'm bored, but this year there was David Cook. It didn't take long for me to fall for him. He always blew me away. I could see something different in him that I have never seen in the other performers during the past seasons. Archie is a great singer, but he just doesn't have that "something" that has grabbed me from the start with David. There have been nights when he is singing that I would just cry because it was so amazing to me. While watching the show and seeing the way David is makes it even better. I agree with what Simon said last night about David pretty much being the nicest and most sincere contestant. I can easily see David Cook out there in the entertainment world giving people his heart and soul through song. Never have I voted for someone on American Idol so voting four hours straight is something for me. I don't think it was a knock-out for Archie. I can't say I'm not proud of Archie because he is so young and doing so well, but I loved David's performances last night. The first one seriously made me cry. It was just amazing to me. I'm excited to see what the future holds for David whether he is the next American Idol or not. He is going to go far. We all know it.

i guess my opinion regarding this matter doesn't matter anymore since DAVID COOK DID IT! lol!, anyways, i'll still just say it for the sake of expressing my opinion.
the whole 60 minute or so of the performance night was so frustrated for me. i was so frustrated for the reason that the judges are overpimping DA's ok performances which almost all of us here labelled as boring and safe while they can't even appreciate how DC showed his dignity as an artist on all the 3 different variety of songs he sung. moreover, Simon's apology to DC right before the result was announced was priceless!
BTW, speaking of their performances, i'm starting to really like Dream Big. it's the first ever Idol song that is catchy and so radio-friendly!
