Good Morning All

I am a little sad today for David. As usual, he did amazind last night. He did what he has done every week, only the judges were on Archie's side. I dont get it.
Cookie seemed as though something was amissed. Even Simon said something to the effect of him being tight and emotional and he understood why. Did something happen behind the scenes that we dont know about?
I taped the show and rewatched it again. Cookie was amazing in his vocals and yet the judges gave it to Archie.
Randy has liked Archie from Day 1 and that came across loud and clear. Simon has been praising Cookie for the past few weeks and dumped on him yesterday.
Archie also has an beautiful voice but is way tooooooo repetetive for my taste. His 1st song DID NOT outdo Cookies. I remember Clay singing that song and Archie's version was lame compared to Clays.
I found the tapes of Clive Davis and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be biased towards Archie....Very unfair.
They did not say anything positive on the tapes to OUR DAVID.
I truely wish the producers would have picked the winning song and let both the boys sing it. It would have shown who was the next Idol. Archie did a good job with his version but I loved Cookies song, it came straight from the heart.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED when Cookie said he didnt want to repeat the past by singing something he had already done. Thats why I love him. Always looking toward the future.
Archie is young and way to emotional to became a big knockout. Love Ballads but not constantly. He did a pop song and got lame reviews. Ballads are his forte but who wants 10 ballads on 1 CD. Not me and I am old.
Archie was pimped from Day 1 and he had me in his corner until Cookie sang Hello. That did it. No one else could do that song better. I mean come on, Lionel Richie himself LOVED it. He has consistently become better and better each week and I would be on pins and needles waiting to hear him.
That is the best sign to determine the winner in my eyes.
I sincerely hope Cookie takes the title tonight. Not because he needs it to make it but because he deserves it.
He has proven himself and that is what it takes to be an idol.
Why have milk when Champagne is there for the taking? Cookie is the champagne.

Well said.. and I completely agree.. I, too, am quite sad for David.. he put his heart and soul into his performances last night only to have them say Archie won by a knockout (or whatever bullshit Simon said.. at that point, I was too mad to hear) which is completely untrue.. I hope and pray that Cook wins tonight.. if for nothing else, to prove that the world doesn't agree with Simon.. but mostly because he is the better singer, the better performer, and the better man.. Archie can sing a ballad (no doubt there) but there is no way he can create an entire album and have it sell like David's will..

David Cook did great last night...I loved every one of his performances...got chills during the first, was pleasantly surprised he chose the second, and I was in tears way before he was on the third (that song usually has that effect on me). I trully appreciate his decision to give a new performance as contestant's choice...that took Cojones. He is a true artist and he takes risks.

Archuletta really brought it last night and would totally deserve the victory if that be the outcome...therefore, the fact that the kid was such a worthy oponent will only make a Cook victory sweeter.

Great job rocking the vote last night! I have NEVER before in the history of this show voted for a 4 hour block.

Don't have much time now to respond, but I just want to add that I totally picked up on that something was wrong. It worried me, and Simon must've known something about it. And to not know, or if they were just referring to the emotional night, the things we may already know, I don't know.
Also DC was strained, which ALW pointed out and was also concerned about that. But he gave what he could from the heart, he was so amazing, I loved every minute of DC's performances. Ugh, I better just stop here for now. Let's hope he wins tonight! And more than ever, that everything's okay...

I agree with everything all of you have said. I couldn't believe the judges dumped on him like that last night and handed the night to Archie. DC was much better on the first song, IMO, and I liked his second song so much more than Archie's pick (talk about *gag*...what were those lyrics?) I would never voluntarily listen to that song again, but it was typical AI coronation crap.

I have to wonder about Simon's little wink to DC at the end...like he was saying "don't worry, David, I've just bought you the win".

Though both did well, it was DC who was under-praised. It was like they made him out to be an underdog.


If you ask me, Simon's agenda was to motivate us into voting vigorously for DC, which we all did. I hope his plan succeed.

i totally agree! my friend told me about Clay's performance in AI season 2 and i watched it on youtube and it is definitely way better than DA. and the judges was blown away by the latter's performance? I also think that DA was very very very pitchy on his Elton John song. I noticed it the first time and really noticed it when I watched it back. He struggled as the song progressed. I think Simon will regret his remarks when he watches it back.

I totally agree. Archie did struggle a bit as the song progressed.. let's hope Simon was playing devil's advocate..

i was about to hit my tv yesterday when simon was rude to david cook !!

To say I was upset last night at the judges comments is an understatement. Personally, IMO, David has done better but the praise they gave Archie was unbelievable. I felt so bad for OUR David. David A has a great voice but it's the same thing over and over - slow, boring ballads. With Cook you never know what he'll do and that's what makes him a great performer as well as singer. Simon was really rooting for Cook until last night and I just don't get it. I can't figure out why they loved Archie as much as they did...unbelievable.
