I was so moved and the tears flooded my eyes when DC started to cry after his third performance. He was so overwhelmed with emotion!!! I think the realization his Idol journey was complete just consumed him and he could not hold it in! He was so vulnerable and it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! It just melted my heart. He expressed such raw emotion. WOW!
I am SO proud of him!

That was his best performance of the night ...for me... he is MY American Idol

That was the most incredible part of the night. Because I knew that no matter what else happened, at that particular moment in time he was feeling so much emotion that he couldn't even hold it in.
He is my American Idol too. No matter what.

While listening to the song, I started to shed a few tears and then after it was over and he showed such emotion and I saw his tears, I couldn't stop myself. I bawled like a baby. I cried for him because his journey on American Idol is almost over.. and I cried for me (and us) because this amazing, once in a lifetime talented man has touched us all in so many beautiful ways.. and now our weekly "dates" with him are over.. I know he'll still be in the spotlight because he is just so freaking talented.. I know we'll each have our own experiences seeing him in concert and I'm thankful for that but I'll just miss seeing him week to week.. it's almost like I'm losing a friend..

ok this is the third time I tried to add this!! You guys are gonna think I'm nuts ........but I really never thought David was that attractive till he sung "Elenor Risby" (sp?) I mean he was my fav from the begining because he can really sing, but after that song I was like HMMMMM Hes kinda Pretty!! And after last night even if he doesn't win I 'm sure in a few months we'll all be out there buying his alblum I'm sure he'll have in no time!!!

Well for me I was crying before he was, but yeah it's so macho the way he wears his heart on his sleeve. That is one thing I love him for, he is very vulernable when it comes to his emotions and that is super hot. I am also so very very PROUD of him and to be a part of this (even if I am a very very small part.) I truly do believe him too when he says it's all over, the competition is over and he doesn't care if he gets the silver or gold. He is so humble and so grateful that he made it to the final 2 and he is so thankful to all of us who LOVE him. I just hope he wins the gold because for me he deserves it more. I agree he IS MY American idol regardless of what happens. I am already standing in line for concert tickets, albums, etc. I have already purchased 4 DC tshirts, a checkbook cover and I have started my mean ass DC collection of pics, music, videos, articles and so much more. He is the epitome of a super star and hotness.

His crying made him look human, which is why we all love him. He cries the manly cry, and I especially love it when he catches himself, then tries to suck it up so he can keep it all together. It's like he's embarrassed (sp?) but proud at the same time. It's adorable.
Don't we love him?

David's tender heart is one of the most beautiful things about him. He isn't afraid to show his feelings - and I applaud him more for that than just about anything else. It is a truly awesome sight to behold.

I was really moved when he cried. I think knowing that this whole AI whirlwind was almost over got to him. I like that he doesn't seem to feel embarrased by his emotions but embraces them. He does wear his heart on his sleeve and he seems so down to earth. No matter what happens he is the epitome of american Idol and what it should be.

It was amazing. I like that in a guy. Someone willing to show his vulnerability and not just hide under cloaks of hard muscles. He cried---and that's a really really REALLY beautiful thing. It made him more...uhm...perfect.

It WAS an awesome sight to behold. I sent a couple of the pictures of this moment to some friends today and that's exactly what I said in the subject line!!! I would absolutely LOVE to know the thoughts that were running through his mind. WOW! I can't get over how beautiful this moment was. A fine moment for our man.

Exactly. It was a beautiful moment. And he most definitely was NOT going for sympathy votes as
some people are saying today. He was overwhelmed by everything...and the tears came. For him, and for the majority of the Word Nerds around the world.
Hell, they were both emotional. This has been a crazy ride for both Davids.

I just caught a snippet of an interview he did on the Fox Channel here. He said something along the lines that he got emotional when he realized that he was singing the last time in competition on the show.
He also said something I enjoyed about how the work for him starts now. To quote David, "...I can sleep when I'm dead."

As we all wait for the results tonight...i can't help but wonder if David truly knows how much we all care about him? How much we had his back last night? I only hope that the words of the judges didn't make him give up on the idea of actually winning this thing.

honestly, i was crying since the first song he performed
i guess i was overwhelmed by everything that has roll out for him on Idol and also my selfish feelings of fearing to not see him two nights in a row every week...
my family always would tease me if i ever cried to any DC"s performances but today they didn't and even a couple of them shed some tears too, shows how much intensity DC gave out tonight eh?
DC is an intense person and i love the fact that he's not afraid to just let it out

I agree. I love when he shows emotion and vulnerability, even makes me cry. I know he was overcome by emotion after getting as far as he did. I love that he's not afraid to show it. Makes me love him even more. You can tell he is definitely grateful for the opportunity.

Because I'm in the UK I have only been able to watch the performances on Youtube so far (the show airs here tomorrow) And I was OK until he sang The World I Know and I had my headphones on and was so immersed in the song the tears were pouring down my face by the end and then when I saw how emotional he was too I was even worse.
I love how vulnerable he is, it's not weak or less masculine or whatever some people would say. It makes him more of a man and strong and confident enough in himself to reveal his raw emotion. That's such an endearing and beautiful thing in a man.

I've been extremely emotional all week because I'm graduating so it took about 20 seconds into his last song before i started tearing up. Then when David started crying, i completely lost it!!
I just can't get over the fact that he is such a well-rounded human being. All things taken into account, Cook def. deserves to win!

He's amazing. I started crying too...it was SUCH a great moment. But then Simon had to go "Your one of the nicest, most sincere contestants we've ever had, but that was a completely wrong song choice" GRRR...f you!!

no gimmicky competition crap
...just David.
