lAST WEEK THIS SITE SAID THAT THERE WERE 43 MILLION VOTES BUT THERE WERE ACTUALLY 56 MILLION ACCORDING TO RYAN...SO THIS IS THEIR PREDICTION BASED ON WHAT THEY WERE ABLE TO COUNT. DON'T GET TOO COCKY COOK FANS..THAT FAT LADY HASN'T SUNG UNTIL ITS ANNOUNCED ON THE SHOW.

After looking at that graph, though, I'm proud of what David has accomplished on this show. His opponent did not run away with the vote, no matter who is announced the winner. He can be proud of himself for giving the viewing audience one heck of a fantastic season. I'll miss the excitement of hearing what he has up his sleeve on Tuesdays. That got to be quite a nice habit to get into.

hi guys! I don't want to rain on your parade or anything, but this is actually my 1st AI season that i've been hooked, and i heard that the total votes for finale includes those of the judges? Pls feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, i'm also wondering about it myself... and if so, how much of the % votes the judges should have? and if this is true then zabasearch and dial idol may not be that realiable for the finale?

Honestly, I just can't imagine any of them sitting and voting. I would be surprised if they did and, if they did, that they voted very many times.

Hehe. Pessimistically optimistic. I read that, first person I think is Cook. Same goes for vindicated. And same goes for a simple word like Crossword Puzzles. LOL!

I think she meant they each get a vote as in they say who their choice is for the idol win, who they pick to win and was asking if there is a percentage to consider SUCH AS (only an example) ...

Calls, texts 50%
Judges choices 25%
Producers/Exec.s, etc. 25%

this is actually very unclear, bec me and my friends here are talking about that but we're not really sure, i think fr the top 24 to top 3 the votes are purely from the fans but come the finale i think the judges have a say - they don't really have to literally vote, but i think they have a say - sorry to confuse you but hope you understand what i meant. but to reiterate, i'm not really sure. this is really frustrating.

From my understanding, all idols shows including the finale are determined by 100% votes from audiences. Unless they changed the rule.

I agree. On "Dancing with the Stars" it is made abundantly clear each week that the judges' scores count for 50% (or is it 25%?) of the total score.

If that were the case on "Idol," we would know about it. There would have to be some sort of system that would have Simon, Paula and Randy ranking or scoring the contestants. It would be a different show.

Ah, the things that man does to us. Making us put pictures of him everywhere and such.
