ANYWAY DAVID COOK ALL THE WAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

This is the FIRST time I've followed an idol that WON the show! I've always watched AI but after the season ends, I forget about whoever won it.. haha! BUT what I do recall is seeing the CDs of the winners plus runner up out in stores a few months after the show ends. I don't remember if there was any promotion or posters or anything like that for the winners. I've only followed Clay since his season on idol. Apart from him, I can tell you that Carrie and Kelly, even without following their careers or knowing anything about how many albums they've put out, those 2 pierce my consciousness (so to speak). Meaning even without my following their journey, I'd hear them on the radio, I'd see them at award shows, especially Carrie.. says a lot for her that even without following her journey, I STILL hear a LOT about her. (OT: I'm glad she and David are friends, he can learn a lot from her since she's been the most successful so far PLUS they would have a lot in common to talk about since they both went through the crazy idol experience)

During Clay's time, there wasn't much happening here, other than the CD came out a day early than the US and we got a poster with it. I forget what happened with Ruben that year.. The fans did the same thing we did, call up record stores and reserve copies of the CDs. OH, one thing different back then was that we had SINGLES released for Clay and Ruben so we had that to purchase first before the album came out. Online fans organized unofficial get togethers amongst themselves. Once we had some sort of event at a hotel, had to pay tho, buffet plus watching Clay vids and mingling.. (I can't believe I did that! LOL!) And the Clay fans here were very active in supporting Clay's cause, which was children with autism, so they got involved with the local foundation here, did volunteer work, collected toys, spent time with the kids, and represented themselves as Clay fans, much like what the US fans do now for David with his cause.

Okay talk about a super long answer.. On the David front last night I caught an ad on tv for David's album and ringtone by Starhub. (Same as our CD insert) It was on Starworld, I was channel surfing and the Light On music video was playing... EEEK! First time seeing that on tv, there was an ad for ringtones plus it said "Album out now" WOOHOO! Look out for it.

I really like the picture they used for David on that poster at Bugis. I think its a better shot than our poster. Its the shot from Skechers right? Heck, there's a TON of better pictures of David out there, if only they had asked us to "recommend" pictures for them to use for the poster instead.

Season before David's was boring to me, the showdown between Blake and Jordin was kinda bland but I thought Jordin deserved to win it. Taylor Hicks' season left me confused! I was like THAT'S the American Idol? (Sorry to any Taylor fans here)

Random: Anyone has Daughtry's album? I was always tempted to buy it but never did.



I don't go for country music either, but yeah Carrie's definitely got mad vocals. I didn't enjoy her on the show, I always thought she was a bit stiff/robotic but she sure delivered anytime she has to take the stage, very effortless and very impressive. I don't usually like blonds BUT I think Carrie's gorgeous, almost doll-like. I wanted Bo to win that season.

I don't think I've ever watched any previous AI season from start to finish before. Not until David Cook came along, at least.
