The Rihanna concert, and then I'm thinking of going to watch the Avenue Q musical.. I still wanna watch Tropic Thunder in the movies, and then the Twilight movie is coming out sometime late Nov right?

I'm collecting my car from the workshop tmr, so there goes more money.

Plus all the different versions of David's album that we're gonna get.

WE have the same dillema!
I'm trying to get my friends to come with me to watch Avenue Q, and my friends are begging me to watch Tropic Thunder, and I wanna watch Twilight (which will be coming out a month later than the US, December 18)

I saw a HUGE Edward poster at Lido with the date..

I'm hoping that the album that gets released here will be a 'repackaged' one especially for International fans..
Oh and yes, I'll be fasting to achieve all these things too, Mars. Gah!

I keep thinking about this as I walk past HMV at Citylink these past few days (my client is at Suntec for these 2 weeks). I'm wondering if there'll be a big poster of him somewhere when the album comes out. I know Jay Chou's album came out recently and there's a pretty big poster of him outside HMV.

RCA seeing themselves as invested in the album VS. invested in the first single.

* Securing A-list producer
* Best possible national television slot for a premiere
* Top-tier video producer and shoot (not the case for most past Idol-related first vids)

"Paid media" includes all forms of straight up advertising and pay-for-placement. This would still include stuff like the iTunes top placement and Z100 radio deal you mention which may be swaps of stuff that each party values, rather than cash.

"Earned media" include favorable coverage of the sort Cook's gotten in the last few weeks from Rolling Stone, MTV website, EW and Billboard. As the name implies, it's getting coverage because either the media people themselves like you or the channel believes its audience is going to like you.

I'm not knowledgeable about the music biz. I do know that other types of public figures and causes would (and do) spend vastly to try to get the types of positive earned media the Dude's been getting, and usually, fail to secure it. If I were on the record co's PR/communications team, I'd be feeling pretty good.

Man you guys have been busy! I know nothing about TWILIGHT, guess my age is showing! Or rather I've been only in a DC bubble which has been ALL consuming! So what is that anyway? Another fantasy fiction type of series?

Unlike the rest of you, I have not pre-ordered anything yet. I don't use Itunes at all, I only downloaded it to be gifted TOML and LO and I have not used it since. I'm not planning on ordering the album from the US. I'm going to get the physical CD here when it comes out and later on when/if there is a re-release I'm gonna get that. Sometimes a while after a CD is launched, they do a re-release which includes bonus tracks and possible music vidoes so I'm gonna wait for that. Of course its not a given that there will be a future re-release BUT I'm good at waiting!

I know I won't have much use for multiple copies of David's album, I've been down that road before with other acts I'm a fan of and I'm now left with multiple copies that I don't know what to do with. So I'm good with just ONE!

Thanks Widz for the info on Twilight, sounds pretty interesting, if I'm not mistaken I've seen that title quite prominently displayed in bookstores but I never picked it up. I have this "sickness" when it comes to bookstores... hehe.. it doesn't matter if I'm buying anything or not, doesn't matter if I browse or not, I just STILL have to walk through a bookstore I pass, just cos... I've questions. So the CD is dropping on Nov 17th, right? Does anyone know what time the stores usually carry the CDs on the release day? Also, which stores are the first to get it on the shelves? I know HMV is one but CDs tend to be more expensive there than at other places? Suggestions? 'Cos I want to get it as soon as possible. The wait is killing me. I'm kinda sad too that I won't be able to pre-order. Now I've to find other ways to get the bonus tracks.
