Simon knows what he's doing and he wants David C. to win this thing. Don't despair.

I too was crushed by Simon's comments, BUT he could have done us the best favor EVER!!!!! And he knows that.
This has propelled me to vote like I've never voted before. I have faith!

Crunching a few Dial Idol numbers here at 2 in the morning...last week Dial Idol handled a total of approx. 385,000 calls. Tonight so far with still a few more West Coast hours to go, Dial Idol handled 887,370 calls. Last week 49% of all phone calls (whether busy or votes) made through DI were to David Cook's three numbers. So far tonight, 63% of DI calls were made to David Cook's 3 numbers.
Dial Idol has always correctly predicted the winner. And this season, the only time Dial Idol was wrong about anything was when KLC got voted off and DI had her "safe." David Cook has been in First place on Dial Idol the last 5 weeks (sometimes tied w/ another contestant, sometimes alone.) Last year Jordin was in First place (alone or tied w/ another contestant) the 4 weeks before she won.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but not 100 percent confident of a DC win Wednesday night. There's still the unknown text message factor. It's reported that DA gets more texts than DC, but DC gets more phone calls than DA and my educated guess would be that more phone calls are made than text messages.
I have such mixed feelings about tonight's performances. I had hoped that DC would have really knocked everyone's socks off, but I also thought that Simon was overly critical, especially since he's been all over the press the past few weeks praising DC. But maybe it was reverse psychology, maybe Simon was trying to avoid that "kiss of death" that comes if Simon praises you. Maybe it was to make us so stinking mad that we would vote that much harder.

Im still pissed about Daughtry!!! 
I think he started to cry after he performed because it was finally over. He did all he could do before the votes and I think all the emotions just came out because he didn't have to worry or stress over anything anymore.

YEP, well they (TPTB again are freaking out because they had to give props to little David tonight) but they know they are going to lose some MAJOR cred and major dollars with DA. Both in declining viewership because this will be their proverbial and FINAL "jump the shark" moment (when it all just gets too ridiculous to watch anymore).
Again, Dadchuletta is going to be A NIGHTMARE and they don't want to deal with him and they will have to for a long while (not sure when legally David can become emancipated to negotiate his contracts and produce his albums without his parents hovering.
PRAY FOR DC, VOTE FOR DC, THE AI TPTB are counting on us too!

Me too He is doing good though top selling band of last year Yay!!! Hes way more famous than Taylor Hicks probubly will ever be that shows Us who should have won!!! I love Chris too!!! Obviously I have not seen the show. I just read your comments and they made me cry a little.
Then I struggled with the original-Gizmo thing, and boy was it putting up a hard fight. I think I got about 50 votes in and that's not much, but hey it's more than zero so I've decided to be content with myself. If it turns out to be a really close run, my 50 might as well be the ones that turns it, right ?

You know, I got chills when DC sang "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". My husband and I were fantasizing about him opening for U2 in a couple of years when they hopefully have another album out and go on tour. Having said that, I agree with you that DA was totally in his element tonight and did an awesome job. I thought "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" was perfect for him. I didn't like that he did "Imagine" again. I agree with DC that it's a journey of growth, and that it doesn't seem right to go back to the beginning of the competition, just because a song performance received great reviews.
I want DC to win, but he doesn't need to win to become huge. He is so incredibly talented and versatile, he can do anything, and his future is going to be amazing. I can't wait to go see him in concert and to buy his first non-cover album. DA will do well too, whether he wins, or not. I will probably buy his album too, although I prefer more upbeat music, but his voice is amazing too and pleasant to listen to.

i'm pretty sure those weren't tears of defeat...
he was emotionally invested in the song and the moment and he became overwhelmed. i'm sure his journey on idol and how far he had come and what was about to happen soon for him was all coming to a head.
my heart goes with him when he cried....i really really prayed for Cookie to win...i voted through Gizmo and got through 50x... i hope the 25 votes through Gizmo5 will also be counted because i placed around 1000 votes thru this.

Dial Idol acted up on me, I had to reset it a few times and eventually resorted to dialing my phone myself, which yielded 336 votes, including the paltry handful of cell phone votes we could get in here and there. My texting was a bit faster than last week, got in a total of 710. My Dial Idol numbers are a bit off, but that was approx. 750.

Dial Idol has always correctly predicted the winner. And this season, the only time Dial Idol was wrong about anything was when KLC got voted off and DI had her "safe." David Cook has been in First place on Dial Idol the last 5 weeks (sometimes tied w/ another contestant, sometimes alone.) Last year Jordin was in First place (alone or tied w/ another contestant) the 4 weeks before she won.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but not 100 percent confident of a DC win Wednesday night. There's still the unknown text message factor. It's reported that DA gets more texts than DC, but DC gets more phone calls than DA and my educated guess would be that more phone calls are made than text messages.
I have such mixed feelings about tonight's performances. I had hoped that DC would have really knocked everyone's socks off, but I also thought that Simon was overly critical, especially since he's been all over the press the past few weeks praising DC. My mom was thinking the same thing about the reverse phycolagy. I hope shes right!!!! People at my mom's work say if David Cook dosn't win that they will stop watching AI honestly if they wanted him to win bad enough to say that they would vote. My mom says people her age don't vote shes 55 and that no one at her work votes!!! Grrr!!!!! I'm kinda peved people need to vote for Cookie He deserves this more than anyone in AI history!!!!! Vote!!!!!

can I at least borrow your thumb? The side of mine is killing me from hitting the side of the buttons. I've got 658 votes in so far, husbrat (whoever said tht first I love you!!) has given up on me and went to bed and I can dial and post in peace.

Travis has already said the site is a hoax and not to believe what they post as 'results' anyhow. When they're wrong, they change their prediction to reflect what actually happened. DI has always been trustworthy, so i am putting my faith in them (even though i realize they don't count text votes)
