I think only one person in each of those states is using DI, and, unfortunately, they're not Cookie fans.

Thank you to all the people east of me who posted and kept me entertained. I had one phone to my ear and one laying on the desk so I could punch redial and scroll at the same time. I didn't get up from this frickin' chair except once to get my cell charger and a different house phone with a new charge.

4 glorious hours of that horrible man thanking me for voting for #1. Where was David's voice that I was so looking forward to? I have no idea how many votes I cast. A bunch....more than a bunch. My husband also voted the entire 4 hours and my daughter voted about 2 hours as soon as she got home from work. Lord help us...we are all insane.

Here is the bottom line for me this evening:

AI's voting system stinks.

AI's judges stink. I take back anything good I ever said about Simon. He is lucky he isn't near me right now. I would probably deck him.

I may never watch that show ever again after this season.

But....David Cook rocks!!! He did great and, by golly, I admire him for all the hard work he has done this season. I'll buy anything he puts on a CD and you can bet I'll be at his concerts when they get remotely near my area.

I am so very proud of all of us! David is lucky to have such awesome fans. And we fans are the luckiest b/c we have David I kept a tally of my votes and I got a total of 1,142 (502 texts and 640 calls). Needless to say, my fingers are cramping but David is worth every second on it. Tomorrow (well, today) is the big day!!!

Comparing these two bars in Photoshop, it looks to me like DC is the slightest bit ahead of Archie. How accurate and relied upon is Zabasearch? This is waaaay too close for comfort. I know I texted in all of my votes. (Although they were few compared to what many of the posters here contributed. Thanks again for your efforts, guys.)

i agree with this assessment - the part that i lean on is the busy signals. DC's lines (all 3 of them) were busy almost twice as much as DA's. You can say that the votes themselves are not representative of the total population but it's really hard to argue with those busy signal counts.

I think we've got ourselves a winner.

I also think people over time grew increasingly tired of DA's one stop shop vocals. The kid sang 20 songs over a 5 month period and I think 2 of them were not ballads. I'm not bashing DA because that's what he does best but if that's what AI really wants from their contestants, I aint watchin no more

Just wanted to come in here and say GREAT JOB once again to the East Coasters, and since I was in bed before all of the other voting was over, I wanted to say it to everyone else, as well.

We are all absolutely crazy, rabid fans for voting for 4 hours straight, but it's so worth it and I have no regrets about giving 4 hours of my time to voting as long as DC wins it

I really tried to sleep longer than 7 am a little while ago, but I just couldn't go back to sleep until 8. My mind was spinning, my stomach was knotted...I needed to know SOMETHING LoL

Morning people in America.. It's bout 7 P.M. here in South East Asia and I JUST watched the top 2 show.. Well, they had the feed via satelite but tahnk God it is gonna be LIVE tomorrow.. I don't know what I will do if it isn't..

Good golly, where do I even begin to rant..

Well, the beginning was just a tad bit too cheesy for me.. Hahahha.. Kinda hilarious to be honest..
However, during the short interview they had with Ryan, Cookie proved that he is confident and well prepared to handle this sudden shot to stardom.. His answers were intellectual and most importantly matured.. I don't know how to describe it but there is a certain degree of honesty in his answers that you all but have to believe that it is really really sincere..

Archie sincerity is from the fact that he is just so innocent and you would wanna squish him all over.. Is he ready to really embrace this fame and lifestyle just yet?? Im not so sure..

I dunno.. I just hope I'm making sense..

Anyway, to the performances..

Okay, I am so not gonna say anything bout pitch, vocal quality and all those stuff as i feel that I am not qualified enough to comment on that..

But, I would like to point out the fact that Cookie has this magical way of connecting with the audience.. Two weeks in a row, I had goosebumps the minute he started singing his first song.. It's either he is really good or there is something bad around me.. Hope it's the former.. When you have that kind of connection, I wouldn't care if you were to sing Baa Baa Black Sheep I still will listen to your every word.. And it was like that the whole three performances.. Maybe that is why he really really chooses a song that he can really feel and just give his everything..

Here is the bias me... Ermm.. Truth be told, I didn't exactly catch all DA's performances.. I saw the 1st one but like i said I wont comment on the vocals and the connection just wasn't there.. Mayb he doesn't appeal to me but I dunno.. Miss the 2nd performance (was watching Kimora Lee:Life On The Fab Lane) and didn't bother to stay for the third which is a reprise song.. Hahaha.. I know.. Real biassed... But, just so everyone is clear.. I have nothing against this kid!! I think he is talented and just so sweet and innocent!!

So, that is about t I guess... I'm so gonna miss not having Idol on Wednesday!! Can't wait for Cookie's album.. And if HIS mom IS reading this, I just gotta say "U RAISED AN AMAZING PERSON". My mum was commenting the other night on how proud she would feel if my brothers are just as nice @ gentleman-like... Damn, looking back, I cant even remember when he got me hooked as a fan!! (Was a MJ supporter during the auditions till he was voted off) But the level of obsseviness is not even close to what I feel for Cookie!!

Enough ranting then.. Bubye for now..

Actually, I did fast forward on certain parts of Archie's performances too. Especially imagine. But for Cookie, each song ended too soon!

I haven't even watched Archies performances yet...And I probably won't until the show airs in Finland week and a half from now.Actually,I've never watched anyone elses performances from the internet except DC's (and MJ's).

I must say I'm losing my mind here,waiting to hear the results! And I crack up everytime I see something say cookie.I just can't help myself! XD Three times today already...

After last night I'm so glad I'm NOT going on my kindergartners field trip. Trying to keep up with 5 and 6 year olds today would have been a nightmare.

Thank goodness for line 03. It was sweet to me. I lost count around 10 PM Central time.

Good job everyone. I got no sleep last night, but it was worth it!

Wow I'm tired. Anyway, I'm just joining in on here this morning so bare with me if it's all been talked about already. Here are some random thoughts....


DC was strained. Even ALW had pointed it out in that clip and was concerned. He didn't reach for any of those super high glory notes. Yet he still sang through in a higher register, which Randy thankfully pointed out on a song.
And he STILL DID AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. Had to say that three times.

And when he finished his last song, and backed up and was pulling on his nose, I was like, "Uh-oh, is he okay?"
They closed back in and sure enough, he was in complete tears. And the judges thankfully gave him a moment. I wanted to hug him so badly! He gave what he could through the night, and he did wonderfully, taking the judges' punches but still smiling and enjoying it for what it was. And he was just so truly happy to be able to perform there in front of the large audience, to be where he was, to get to sing that song especially.

But no matter what tricks Simon was trying to pull or not pull, whatever was going on there, I was still ticked off. I was just like -- so you got your David vs. David finale, you ***** money-makers, now you gotta throw DC under the bus like this? Trick or not, that was just painful to watch and listen to.

But you know what else? I'm glad DC will NOT have to be judged by them EVER AGAIN!!!! That's OVER!!!
I probably could say a lot more, but I really gotta get some work done, yikes.

P.S. Thanks to EVERYONE here for all your efforts in voting last night. Let's hope he's crowned the winner tonight!

Good morning all! I was hoping to sleep in, but I woke up about 7 & couldn't go back to sleep without checking our status. Ok, I also had to feed the kitties, but not before turning my computer on! Daughter (nurse_kj) and I voted non-stop for 4 hours, then stayed up glued to the computer. She got through 1,219 times to my pitiful 14! That was so frustrating!

Anyway, things still look positive this morning. It's going to be so hard watching the results show tonight and having to wait 2 hours til they finally announce Cookie the winner (I hope, I hope, I hope). But we've done all we can do & whether he's declared the Idol or not, he's still the winner in our eyes!

I just want to say, I am so proud of my mother for staying up with me and keeping with it despite all those annoying busy signals she was getting! Most of her 14 came in the last hour I believe! I am so happy and proud to be your "kid".
