I can only remember I screamed my heart out cause my throat really hurts hehe, and I started crying and, seeing him crying, I cried a little bit more.

I am so stoked that our man won. He deserves everything that comes a long with this title. He is the best American Idol contestant ever! I started crying nervously before the results and then I just lost it. The man is quite a find. A rare gem and he is going to blow the music industry away! Congrats to David!

I was in the middle of a sea of people at the P&L in KC and we all started screaming and crying and it was marvelous. I'm sure I will post much more eloquently in the morning after I've gotten some sleep and have calmed down some!

mj & syesha were bein interviewed and mj said that he was sooo excited that Cookie won.. he pointed his finger (immitating himself from earlier) and said somethin like "you did it" (it was more elaborated but cant remember exactly wat he said)... mj said how he liked archie but since it was no secret that Cookie was his best friend that he was ecstatic.

Yes it is hahahahaha.

I screamed.
Then jumped up and highfived everyone in the room.
Then my friends called me to tell my DC won (like I wouldn't watch? helloooo?) and I answered the phone and screamed in their ears and then hung up.
And then I was shaking for a really long time.. it didn't stop til I hit the shower.

God it made my day.
And my week.
And it will probably be the highlight of my life for a while.

I jumped out of my chair and started squealing and jumping up and down clapping incredibly loud. When I started crying my entire family made fun of me, but I didn't care...COOKIE WON!!!!!!!!11

one of the tvs is faster than the other so before they said the winner my brother was like COOK! i didnt start screaming till i saw it on the tv i was watching. i was crying so hard. im soooo happy he won!!!

Ive been fighting a head cold and slowly losing my voice. I sat there with my eyes closed and when they said COOK I let out a nearly silent scream and I jumped around HAHA and then... I coughed myself to death and couldnt breathe but thats ok cause Cook won LOL

I am so proud of him..... I am walking on cloud nine; now that I have stopped crying.

He was on fire tonight. You could see that he was having the time of his life. His voice was incredible!!!

well, i started crying when the guy came out with the envelope... then when Ryan said "David....COOK", my sister punched me in the arm (hard, I might add), we both screamed, drank our Cook's Champagne and cried some more. My throat is still killing me from screaming!!

well I started getting tears in my eyes during the commercial right before the reveal and then I screamed so loud and couldn't stop crying. Then I took a pic of myself crying in front of the tv.

Elated is the best word I can think of to describe how I feel still.
I know I'm late to the online celebration but I was celebrating with my friends on the phone.

I missed most of the broadcast (will watch later on DVR), but raced home from rehearsal to watch the final moments and I'm so glad I did. When Cook's name was announced I jumped out of my seat and started screaming and cheering, and so did my mom lol.

I feel like many of you, FINALLY my favorite contestant won the title. The American Idol audience has redeemed themselves in my eyes, they've been forgiven for the Chris Daughtry debacle.

NOW I really can't wait for the tour to catch the Cook experience live in person... August 4th cannot come fast enough.

well.. it's all worth his effort.... gosh! the journey with david cook never ends.... I'll join the ride with you david cook... forever....

first i was kinda laughing durin the whole show becuz.. to quote abe lincoln "if i didnt laugh i would cry".. and then it came to to annunce the idol and i was crying... listened to "Dream Big" during commericial and through out the presentation of the card. then ryan was all "david....." and then started to whishper and sob "cook cook cook cook cook cook" for a moment i could hear him saying "archuleta" in my head and then...
"COOK!" and i was bawling and shaking and screaming for a good 30 min!!!!! gosh i still cant believe it! he deserves it soo much... can u imagine how Cookie must feel now?

David Cook was phenomenal. He took the risk and didn't sing Billie Jean. A rocker to reckon with.

I actually cried during the George Michael song before they announced the winner...when they said his name, I was amazingly calm and collected, and just said "Way to go, DC--you did it."

I was sitting on the end of my seat
like literally
and I seriously thought Ryan was going to say David Archuleta
but
when he said David Cook
I just screamed
and I started to shake and cry
my mom asked me if i was crying
and she was like to my sister shes so happy
and my sister gave me a hug
i stood up while he was singing
and i was just completly overjoyed.

I was leaning forward in our recliner, my sweaty palms shaking, and my Mom was sitting on the sofa next to me when it was announced. We both stood up, let out high-pitched screams that probably alerted a few of our neighbors, and then I sat back down and broke into joyful tears. Thankfully, even though my tear-soaked joy continued for a good 30 minutes following, my Mom didn't laugh at me. Haven't heard from my Dad, though. I'll enjoy this momentous victory as I prod my Dad's past accusations of "David's going home". Truly a glorious moment, being able to poke fun at my father's disbelief.

Guys, I still feel like if I was on ecstasy.

I can't believe it, this is too good to be true.
