Yeah, he was driving some Jeep (Cherokee, maybe?) that was pretty old. Maybe the car was a '92. I don't think Libertys have been around that long.

DC was so happy, it was adorable. And he got the SUV he needs to haul around stuff... I'm guess he'll have a tour bus for that now!

Plus he said he really likes to drive AND he wanted an SUV.

He seems smart and caring enough to go for the green car, too, so good on them for giving him a hybrid. I think in previous years they've said it takes forever to get the cars, though. Has Top 2 ever not gotten a car?

I even got excited when he got the new car and the keys handed to him!

He also said he had to pay off his new computer he bought. Betcha he can afford that too. Did you notice his new guitar when he played with ZZTop? The initials "AC" were a different script & color (grey) awesome. His friend that owns the Blank Slate said he has been forwarding requests from some Guitar places who want to make a David Cook Guitar.

The top 5 were given Luna Guitars. Davids just took a little while longer to get to him because they had to custom make it. The lady who does all the designs put the artwork together. She put the AC on it at David's request and then she added the analog heart graphics he did and then put some sort of butterfly wings that symbolize hope inspiration and transformation

He was so happy when he got the car. It's looks like he was thinking: 'Archie get win the Idol, I have the car!' LOL!!

I'm pretty sure I had read that he has a red '96 Jeep Cherokee that he bought used in 2001 and that it has almost 200,000 miles on it. He also said it was the thing he missed most from home!

Not for nothing guys, and this is just FYI, I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the process that goes into making a Hybrid car (because all the parts for the cars are made in several different places across the globe, and they need to ship them via tankers to various places to be made and then shipped back by the same polluting tankers back to the factories and then trucked out to the dealerships) cause more pollution and damage to the environment than driving a Hummer for its entire "shelf life". Just some food for thought, for all those who feel they doing something for the environment buy driving one, well you "personally" aren't creating the pollution but the process to make your car made it. Plus, you really don't save all that much on gas.



But back to David, yes he did look super shocked and amazed. Actually, I believe I saw the glimmer of a tear or two well up in those beautiful baby blues of his. I'm happy for him.

The key giving segment is always so hilarious to watch. Everyone but contestants seem to know they're getting new cars lol.

Yeah, I remember watching that interview and was thinking to myself that if he could make it far enough, they would give him a car because they've done it in the past. His facial expressions when they gave them the keys were priceless! He was super excited.
