I think its rather entertaining. I poked my head over to the Archie board, I can never stay there more than 30 seconds because juvenileness of them all is off the charts. I'm not going to bash DA, because he is a good singer, but AI and America got it right this time. The best man won, hands down. I find it amusing how they all want to boycott AI next year and want them to have the worst premiere ever just to show them how wrong they are...blah blah blah. All of this, until the next cherub-faced kid comes in next year and captures their hearts. If Archie would've won, the only people we could've blamed was ourselves for not voting enough, which is all they should do. 97.5 millions votes total and Cook won by 12 million votes...that's huge!!!!! And he deserves it, he truly does!

It's actually funny and sad for me at the same time... I actually like little david so I can't say I am happy for him that he lost, I know it must hurt to be the chosen one from day one and then actually lose on the last day! And, so for him, personally- I am sad.. but for his fans? HELL NO! I am not sad for them one little bit.... I find it funny- no make that HYSTERICAL- that ALL season long they have been bashing Our David and now that it's over- they want to continue to bash Our David and now us too? Um, what is that about? We voted our asses off, oh excuse me "little booties" off and they didn't and I think that a margin of 12 MILLION votes proves that point.. I guess they just can't understand that while they were gloating that he had it "in the bag" and not voting for him, that we were actually power voting for Our David.. and now, today is our day to gloat.. oh, I wish I could just give in to that feeling and be so nasty and rude to them.. but I can't do it.. I think of Our David and how wonderful and sweet he is and I just can't bring myself to stoop to their level of nastiness.. I want to, but I can't and I guess I have David Cook to thank for that... for making me be a nicer person to everyone, whether they deserve it or not!

and hey, now that I think about it, they need to take a lesson from Our David and be gracious like he was tonight. He was trying to get little david to be up there on stage with him, when he was singing his winning song at the end.. HE WON and he was still reaching out and being nice when he could have been just rubbing it little david's face.. but he didn't because he has class.. and style and grace.. and those all things that the Arch Angels know NOTHING about.. and excuse me, but they call themselves the "Arch Angels" and yet act so hateful and spiteful- isn't that a bit hypocritical? Ugh, I don't want to be nasty and rude, so I will stop now..maybe I will write our David a congrats letter and thank him for helping me become a better and nicer person.. and hey, I am working on the gracious part, give me time on that one...

We've gonna expect sour gripes to surface, especially when the other person didn't win.

3 words to these people: Get. Over. It. Archie's still gonna have a fine career ahead of him, and there are these children, talking as if he's going down.

Much as we respect the runner-up Archie, his fans are obviously less than desired.


PS: Which reminded me, I too have friends who kept insisting that Archie will win. For that, I hardly bother to argue with them, thinking, "You guys only know how to talk, yet not even voting for him. Talk is cheap."

I'm glad America finally got it right. David Cook was the most original performances to the show than any of the others did this season. I'm not saying they weren't good singers but originality wise Cook has the whole package. Way to go David Cook.

I just scanned the board, and some of those Arch Angels are about to have heart attacks. Archie is 17 and he has the rest of his life ahead of him. He's going to be fine. Of course I didn't post that, but if I cared enough to post there, I would probably say it's going to be alright.

I actually went over there to say that even though I am a Cook fan, Archie did an amazing job last night and taking second to him would have been an honor for Cook if the outcome were reversed, but then I saw how ridiculous they are all acting and I left... sad, really.

Now I'm kinda curious as to what's going down on their board...

Archie is a very sweet and talented young man and was very gracious tonight to DC and DC would have done the same thing if things had been reversed. It really is the fans that are the problem, not him.

See the thing about that is, people are congratulating DA, being a DA fan myself I have seen at least 3 different topics on here where THE MAJORITY of DC fans have been giving plenty of love AND respect to little D! I personally appreciate that it not only shows respect but also maturity on their part, and honestly I am only drawn even more to this board because of the overall genuineness shown by everyone here (which can't fully be said for AF, but we are working on it) I think if you stop, take a look around, and see, you will find there is actually a lot of kind and classy people on here. So, before you jump to conclusions and get all fussy take a moment; there is plenty of love for DA being shown, yes, on a DAVID COOK board (HINT).

David C DESERVES the out-pouring of support that he is getting and his #1 fans DESERVE to celebrate a hard fought victory. Let them (I should say "us" for those of us who love BOTH) enjoy their time, just as those who love DA can enjoy the time they got to have with him. As DC himself said, "The respect that I have for David Archuleta is very much past a competitor" it's not about the battle, there never was one. They are "brothers" in this crazy competition known as AI. There is no need for fan wars and drama. It's about showing respect and standing behind these two men as fans no matter what.

I find it sad that there is animosity expressed between one fanbase to another. Seeing the closeness that the two Davids obviously have for one another, I keep wishing that the fans of each performer would follow suit. I hope that their friendship will last for many, many years....long after their AI experience is a distant memory. I think David A is a fine young man with a great set of pipes. I'm hoping he will have a long and happy career. What each fanbase needs to focus on now is how support their favorite by attending concerts and other appearances and purchasing CDs.

Before I type anything in a forum capacity, I always keep in mind that I am talking to real people....not just screennames on the computer. They have feelings that can be hurt. Unfortunately, many people who post feel a certain bravado in the fact that they are somewhat anonymous and feel they can say things they wouldn't even think of saying to a person face to face. I also post as if David Cook was going to read what I say. You may laugh and think I'm silly to think that he will bother to read a fan forum. Whether that happens or not, I still do keep that in mind and try to demonstrate the same kindness and wit that he seems to posess.....something that I have enjoyed about him in addition to his musicality. I truly believe that we fans and our actions do reflect upon him and his career. I'm sure it does no entertainer's career any good to have the reputation of having nasty fans.

I'm sure that Archie's fans are extremely disappointed as I'm sure we would be if the tables were turned. Hopefully, once things settle down, we all can get along.

I have no qualms about that. BUT you must also understand, as someone who is NEW to this board (especially coming from a DA board with all that has happened as of late) you mentioning right off the bat that Cook fans were bashing isn't going to go over well. PERIOD. Cook fan or not, good intentions or not, that isn't cool. In the end I understand you had GOOD reasons for coming over and I say more power to you. If Archie had won, the majority of the Cookie fans, while feeling sad, would have never stooped to the level of the childish & bitter whining as displayed here. Considering what a sweet, kind and all around nice person Archie is, i hardly think he'd be impressed by this behavior.

Agreed! I think Archie is a total sweetie, very genuine, and he never tried to hard to be all calm, cool and collected in front of the camera! But seriously, we have no one to blame for DC's win but the fans, it was us who did all the voting!!
