Seriously, DC couldnt have been up against a nicer kid.
He has an amazing voice and he'll go really far. He is super sweet and though he didnt win, he still has a huge fan base.
Im proud of him too.


DC is like a big brother to him, so it wasnt like an arch(no pun intended) rivalry or anything.

They are adorable... I really love them both. It seems like A looks up to C like a big brother, and vice versa (only little brother instead). Both so gracious.

I have to admit you can help but just love Archie. He was very gracious Cook tonight. He should be very proud of how far he came in the competition and he did a splendid job last night. It's very obvious the bond these 2 have and I think it's so sweet. <3

Good job Archie!!! He really is a genuine person and I only wish the best for him. He's 17 and he has so much to look forward to. I know he had some issues with his throat (sorry if I'm mistaken), and I know once he fully heals, he's going to give a lot of people a run for their money. Archie is seriously awesome. And no matter what I've ever said about comments for him or people in his "camp", I've always been assured he was above it all. He wasn't my favorite, but he has a beautiful voice and tons of fans. I may have been put off by last night, but he was amazing, and like his style or not, there is no doubt of his abilities. He's so young, but there's such a future and he knows exactly who he's selling to. I can't see Idol's people not taking him. There are a host of other companies waiting desperately for that, but they won't get the chance. And to the actual point of the post, he truly is such a class act. He and Cookie are totally brothers now and I hope the fans can all be like them. This was the best finale ever, not just because "our guy" won, but because either outcome would have produced a deserving winner. FTW!

I hope so too. You know there has been a lot of Archuleta Haters because the fans have been quite nasty (trashing other contestants, etc) But last Finale I felt like Archuleta doesn't deserve the name-calling from people (pimpchuleta, gaychuleta, etc)--- He really is a great singer. I hope that the Archie fans do not look at this as Winner takes all...

I went to AI website and Ive noticed a lot of comments about how Cookie doesnt deserve to win because he just shouts. I was really upset because they actually think that it is an empty victory. I dont think so. Cookie poured his heart and soul everyweek for the past 12 weeks. Just because Archie was really good during the Finale 2 doesnt necessarily mean that it's a win. I also felt that it was the JUDGES fault (except Paula) because they assumed too much without looking at the big picture. Their hopes were built too much and then crushed.

Archie is still the best competitor for our Cookie. That's saying a lot.

yep, gotta love the boy. have always thought he's cute and great from the beginning, not that easy to resist his giggles! they looked like brothers last night, the photos,et al. can't see any rivalry between them but great respects for each other. it was an overall fantastic brotherly/friendly finale. i dont really quite understand the boxing thing tho..

Gosh.. Hahhaa.. How can we not like Archie.. As i person, he is just so sweet and adorable and he has that pure child-like inncence with him which we have witness time and time again.. He is really a great talent and yeah... I'm gonna admit it, i have some of his studio songs on my itunes.. (runs)

However, as a whole, his music just doesn't seem to appeal to me as much as Cookie.. So maybe that is where the difference in opinion comes in..

What a lovely thread and this post in particular.

I'm so pleased to see Cookie's fans showing compassion for Archie. I've been on the other side of the fence in the UK and its not nice to see a winner's fans dissing the talent of the loser. Archie's fans will be hurting now, but once they read things like this thread on here it will help them. The two Davids are obviously very fond of each other, just as the two lads here were in 2003 and still are.

Good luck Archie, I feel for you, but I'm sure you'll carve out a very nice career for yourself in the future.

I'm so glad to see this thread this morning. Huge hugs to Archie. I've said all season that it's impossible for me not to like him. He's so, so sweet and he IS very talented. He was a great competitor this season and I wouldn't have asked for anyone else to be in the finale with David. Archie was a class act and I have nothing but good things to say about him and all of the respect in the world. I'm sure he's going to be fine after this.

Archie is definitely a gem. When the show just started, I was already a David (times 3) fan. Imagine was a tearing up moment.

He is such a sweetheart and the camera loves him. Those licking of the lips, the cute giggles, the gasps are all too sweet and sacharine for all! Hehee. Plus, his dry wit is indeed lovable.

Archie, you'll do very well after this. Just stay this way, humbled and grounded and you will go far.

I had indeed noticed that not once through this entire competition had either David acted in any way less than a gentleman! For little David to be such a classy guy at such a young age, when so many others his age pepper their speech with cuss words and can't be bothered to hold a door for a woman, not to mention his amazing composure throughout this gruelling 14 weeks, well, he IS mature for 17--innocence is not the same as immaturity and he is the STAR example of a fantastic young American.

i admit i was never a fan of DA, but with what he had shown last night, he earned my respect. he will go far and i pray for his success. continue to reach your dreams, david, and definitely you will go far.

I know I said this last night here, but I'll say it again. I can't wait to see Cookie and Archie do their post finale interviews together. I couldn't say that about years past with the winner and runner up, but I can say that this year and mean it! Seeing how gracious Archie was to our David last night makes me love him even more.

I have to say I really appreciate all of you Archie fans for your bravery to come here and offer your congrats to Cook. I can't imagine how this must hurt right now because it could have just easily have been us instead. I do believe Archie will have a great career. There is no way he won't be signed by someone. So i rewatched the whole finale thing.. Yes, from the intro up til the end for I think about the 4th time 2day and small little details which I missed earlier keeps popping up!! I'm gonna miss not having to see both Archie and Cookie and Jason and Brooke and Carly and Michael and Ramiele on my tivo anymore...

This group is exceptionally close!! I mean they trully care for one another!! The two davids are really really close practically brothers... So I guess if one wins, so does the other..

Truthfully, I think this season of idol will sell more records than any other season cause the diversity is so large and the demographic viewer is spread really apart!!

I hate to admit this to all of my fellow Word Nerds, but I actually went back and watched some of Archie's old performances last night, just because I wanted to see how good he was in the beginning, and because I couldn't remember his audition. I can totally see why Archie's fans fell for him. He's a little young for my taste (I'm only 20, but I don't even like that many guys who are MY age, I like guys who are a little bit older than me, like DC), but I can still see why they would.

I'm really excited to see what both of them do with their albums. I think they'll both be great.
