I am a White Sox and Braves fan. Once was a Phillies fan when Mike Schmidt was playing 3rd, and have been to the old Veteran's Stadium. Loved it when the Phillies won the Series back in '80 over David's Royals. My sister was a huge George Brett fan at the time, and I rubbed it in big time.
shan12stones
Even though i'm not a braves or White Sox's fan.I like a few of the players on both teams.

I'm HUGE Red Sox fan!!!

I lived in Boston from 2002-2006, best years of my life; I miss it so much! In Durham, I get to catch some minor league games, which is nice. I can't get enough baseball!
annie702
<------------Marlins fan. and have been following Red Sox since Lowell went there.
MellyBelly
I'm a big Cubs fan since I'm originally from Illinois. I'm also a HUGE Mets fan. David Wright is my favorite player and he lives in the same city as me. smile.gif
Cassandra
Oh gosh... you guys are going to get me started!!! I'm a ginormous baseball fan!!!!!! Oakland A's baby. smile.gif I go to about 70+ games a season. The ones I miss are usually the day games during the week since I have to work... boo! I'm also very blessed to have a National League park like15-20 minutes away. I can't stand the Giants, but it's soooo nice to go over there to see NL teams! I catch quite a few minor league games, too. The Stockton Ports are an A's affililate team.. they're High A. And I try to go to Sacramento Rivercats games.. they're also an A's affiliate team.. the triple A squad. smile.gif

Baseball players tend to be my BFF's. haha. Well, my friends and I get to know a lot of the players and they love us. biggrin.gif

Bama: How do you like Nick Swisher? Awesome, yes? tongue.gif
Nurse_KJ
HUUUUUGE STL Cardinals fan here! Never actually lived in STL but my parents raised me right. wink.gif Cleveland also has part of my heart as I was born in Cleveland. And I always wish the Royals well but...yea.....sorry DC!

Probably going to get a lot of boos for this but I'm a die hard Yankees fan. Both my parents are from New York so it's basically in my blood I bleed Pinstripe Blue.
BamaCook
It has been nice to have Nick Swisher with the Sox, Cassandra. He has been a welcome addition to the outfield. BTW, he is the son of former Cubs catcher Steve Swisher, a bad arse in his day.

I have an independent minor league team within walking distance of my house, the Windy City Thunderbolts, 2007 Frontier League Champions. I sometimes catch a few games there every season.

Ouch! I am not. tongue.gif

I'm hoping they exact some revenge in August (even if they play them again before that) because I'll be watching two games from the Green Monster vs. the A's. Hoping it'll be some great games and that the Sox have a better showing! smile.gif

I enjoy going to games and I follow both the Mets and the Yankees, just to keep up with my hometown teams. I love when those two play each other. But I'm pretty sure I came out of the womb a football fan lol. That's my favorite sport, with baseball pulling in a distant second.

Who's your team/player?

Btw, let's try to keep the dissing to a minimum. laugh.gif

You're an enemy!! laugh.gif angry.gif
Braves fan here...F.I.L.A...Forever I Love Atlanta.

Been a fan since I was a young one watching with my dad...

I'm not happy right now because the Braves just got swept by the freaking Reds because for some reason they simply suck on the road. It's so frustrating.

I love all of my Bravos...but this season Yunel Escobar and Jair Jurjens are probably my favs...

The Braves have taken years away from my life probably.

They've broken my heart so many times in the playoffs. Like, the last time they even made into post season was 3 years ago... I was still in college...and they were playing the Astros in the Division Series...I was sitting in my apartment watching the game... they lost in 18 innings on walk-off grand slam...I pretty much sobbed like a loser. sad.gif

But I ALWAYS get excited again once winter starts thawing out and Spring Training starts...

This is my kind of thread! I'm a huge White Sox fan, and just a huge fan of baseball in general. Anyone that has read some of my other posts will also know I'm a huge Aaron Rowand fan...I cried when he was traded away to Philadelphia. I go to Cubs games to see him play every year...it was so sad, the first game I went to he collided with Chase Utley and broke his ankle sad.gif I've also causght a home run ball hit by Chase Utley at Wrigley field and got him to sign it at Phillies spring training in clearwater. On the White Sox I am a huge fan of A.J. Pierzynski, Mark Buehrle, Nick Swisher and Gavin Floyd. I also collect baseball autographs and have been able to meet a ton of my favorite players (including Swish, A.J. and ROWAND) My friends hate it when I start talking about baseball because I could go on for hours.

Yeppers! I am an Astro fan as well. Hopefully Oswalt will get his mojo back. sad.gif I really like the guy. Wish we could have kept Brad Lidge, but I guess the trade did him some good. Isn't the Phillies in first place right now?

I'm a bit of an Astros fan (they're in my top 5), but mostly because of one of your relief pitchers, Geoff Geary...if u ever get the chance to meet him, he is the nicest guy in the world...I've never seen an athlete take so much time to talk to his fans after a game

I'm certainly not a die-hard baseball fan (I much prefer football, actually) but I do love going to Royals games. A night out at the K is always a great time. smile.gif
StarrySkies
I love baseball! I actually know what I'm looking at when I watch a baseball game (as opposed to, say, football - which I enjoy watching sometimes but don't fully understand all the rules)! I'm a Braves fan and have been for YEARS. When I was younger and still lived at home, I spent many hours on my grandparents' couch watching games on TBS with my grandfather. biggrin.gif

I've been a Chipper Jones fan since his rookie year. Was that 1993? I think it was somewhere around there. I was pretty young when he first came up (if it was '93, I was 13).

I haven't been following it closely the last few years, but I know it's been awhile since Atlanta's been to the playoffs. I don't remember who said it, but I completely agree that the Braves will break your heart sometimes. I used to get so frustrated when they'd blow a save or a really big lead, etc. that I'd turn the game off. And then they can turn around and fly so high. But regardless, I've been a Braves fan for over half my life and I don't see that changing anytime soon. smile.gif

I was a fan of Nick before he joined the Sox...when he was traded, I was actually in the process of convincing my parents to take me to a White Sox vs A's game...I think I screamed so loud that the entire neighborhood heard me when I found out he would be playing for the White Sox...it's so great that you got to see him in SF...I dragged one of my friends down to Chicago earlier this year because I found out he was doing a signing...he was a great guy and I got a hug as well laugh.gif

Yeah! And then he threw it in and assisted for another out! He's really an amazing ball player, mostly behind the plate but sometimes in the field too! tongue.gif
