Right before Ryan announced the winner Cook looked over at Archie, Archie smiled then said "It's you."

Wondering what Cook whispered to Archie when they heard the results? In an interview Cook said that he whispered "I love you" and that Archie replied with "I'm so proud of you!" And then they hugged!

archie really impressed me with his grace and maturity tonight. can't wait to see what big things we'll get from this kid.

Ahhh that made me get all weepy again. Last night was the best AI finale in history and it couldn't have happened to two better guys. I loved every minute of seeing them on stage together, it was just amazing. They both did an incredible job this season and I'm proud of both of them.

Thank you to Archie for being such a class act and for being so sweet, and true to who he is. A great competitor.

Archie is a class act. Some of his fans, unfortunitely are anything but. That person needs to try and find a new hobby. Hopefully the mods will take care of this. After all, we're not supposed to bash either David.

David Archuleta seems to have been nothing but kind, gracious, and sweet this entire time.

He may not sing the type of music I like, but you can't deny that he is generous and kind.

A friend of mine went to school with him and said that he was always the nicest person ever. In choir, he would help people who needed it. He was never mean spirited toward anyone.

He is a winner, and a true class act.

YAAAY FOR ARCHIE!!! His parents (and adorable grandparents!) should be so proud of him! I've loved the kid since Star Search many years ago and am very excited for what's to come. He's a great role model!

Yep, I admire how Archie graciously accepted his ... I'd use the word "defeat" for lack of words. He will shine and rise in his own time I am sure.

I'm excited to see what comes of BOTH of their careers. I personally think it would be awesome of they could come together for something. It might unlikely but I think it would be amazing. Hero was proof of that.

I have to actually say its been nice this last week, most of the fans have been awesome. It hasn't been hard or weird expressing love for both, where maybe before it was a little more touchy. Im glad everyone can just get along.

And, this topic made me a reason to watch it again and look of that whispers and stuffs.. but if that was really what the meant for each other.. i'll adore archie a half of how i adore our DC. they were both great.. and i know they respect each other. DA is proud of DC and likewise, i know DC is also very proud of lil' David.

Thanks for posting that little backstory there. It's always great to hear how each Idol's relationship to one another is. Little David seems to be a nice, well rounded kid who is just very grateful to be where he is and to the people who have come to love and respect him. We may hear rumors about Jeff Archuleta being a hell of a stage dad, but I am so happy that he has raised a fine young man who will go places with his God-given talent and natural charisma.

The future holds a million possibilities for both of them, and it's theirs to take advantage now. Good luck to the two best Davids in the world.

As Simon said, they are the two nicest people on the competition and he didn't care who wins. This just shows you their character.

awwwwww.. so much love! makes me love DC even more! i like to see him grabbing archie with his yummy arms... i love how DC sincerely acknowledge Archie's talent all the time ... for me, there will only be one and only one AI. DC is the only AI and archie is the runner up. Archie's great but DC has much more going on compared to Archie. Probably archie's still young. just my opinion !
